'The Bold and the Beautiful' Wins 9th Consecutive Golden Nymph Award

The Bold and the Beautiful was the recipient of the International TV Audience Award in the “Telenovela/Soap Opera” category today at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, confirming that it remains the world's most watched series in its genre. This is the ninth consecutive year that the series has been the recipient of this award.

The Bold and the Beautiful Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley Bell and cast members Kim Matula (Hope), Darin Brooks (Wyatt), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) accepted the award on stage at the Closing Awards Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum.

The International TV Audience Awards are determined by the sum of ratings across five continents and 66 countries as measured by Médiamétrie and Eurodata TV Worldwide. The win signifies that The Bold and the Beautiful delivered higher ratings worldwide in 2013 than any other telenovela or daily drama series. Created by Médiamétrie, Eurodata TV Worldwide distributes programming and audience information, based on its partnership with the national institutes operating people meter systems throughout the world.

The award was announced on the same day that actors Scott Clifton (Liam) and Ashleigh Brewer (Ivy) began a three-day multi-episode location shoot in Paris to commemorate the 25th anniversary of broadcasting of The Bold and the Beautiful in France. The series was first aired on French state broadcaster France 2 under the title Amour, Gloire et Beauté on June 12th, 1989. Actors Kim Matula and Darin Brooks will travel to Paris June 13th and 14th, to shoot additional scenes.

For over two decades, The Bold and the Beautiful has explored the entangled lives, passionate loves, high-stakes battles, loyalties, tragedies and the inspiring triumphs of the Forrester, Logan and Spencer families. With romance, sensuality, complex characters and intricate and compelling storylines, The Bold and the Beautiful is, at its core, a gripping tale of high fashion glamour, honor and most importantly, family.

In May 2014, The Bold and the Beautiful received 18 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, a category it won consecutively in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Winners will be announced at the 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards Ceremony in Beverly Hills, California, on June 22nd. In 2012, Guinness World Records named B&B the Most Popular Daytime Soap Currently on TV. B&B is the most watched daytime drama series in the world, seen daily by more than 35 million people in over 100 countries.
