Lifetime Renews 'Devious Maids' For Third Season, With Many Questions Left to Answer

Lifetime will air the third season of Devious Maids in 2015.
Lifetime is set to get even more Devious in 2015, announcing on Friday the network has renewed its hit series Devious Maids for a 13-episode third season. Executive produced by Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, Devious Maids Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci.

"We are thrilled to be bringing Devious Maids back for another season. Marc Cherry has created a uniquely twisted world that blends his comic wit with devilishly ingenious characters and plot twists," said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime.

Devious Maids is set in a world where murder and mayhem collide in the mansions of Beverly Hills' wealthiest and most powerful families. Class warfare has never been as fun and dirty as it is in the tiny enclave where the staff is as clever, witty and downright devilish as their employers. The series centers on a close-knit group of maids, Marisol (Ortiz), Rosie (Ramírez), Carmen (Sánchez), Valentina (Ganem) and Zoila (Reyes), who are bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and the melodramatic universe that engulfs their employers. Devious Maids also stars Grant Show, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Drew Van Acker and Mark Deklin.

Season 2 of Devious Maids, which concluded July 13th, fueled Lifetime to be the number one cable network in its Sunday 10-11pm time period with Total Females, Women 18+, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49. In its freshman season, the series was Lifetime's fastest-growing drama ever.

Mark Deklin and Ana Ortiz.
The second season finale kept viewers on the edge of their seats. Here are some of the big moments and questions that loom:

* Zoila is pregnant, but who's the daddy, Pablo or Javier?
* Rosie marries Spence but her first husband is actually very much alive! How will the return of Ernesto impact Rosie's life?
* With Marisol at his side, Nicholas confesses to the Powells that he is the hit-and-run driver responsible for their son's death all those years ago. Will Nick go to jail? Will Marisol and Nick stay married? Is there any chance Adrian and Evelyn can be happy with each other for a while?
* Carmen connects with a hot guy (Gilles Marini) at a bar. He eventually wins her over by setting up a meeting with a huge record executive to talk to her about a possible music career. The two end up sleeping together before he finally tells her the truth--the big music exec she has a meeting with is also his wife. Will Carmen's fling ruin her big chance?
* Ty, Spence's crazed nephew, is out to silence Valentina. After Rosie's wedding ceremony, just as everyone is leaving the church, Ty drives by and pulls a ski mask down over his head in time for Carmen to notice. Everything goes to slow motion as Carmen starts to scream out warnings to those on the stairs. Ty then points a gun out the window and suddenly everyone is witnessing a drive by shooting. Five shots get fired out into the crowd, but who got shot? Will there be deaths? Life-changing injuries? Will Ty finally be locked up where he belongs?

Stay tuned!

Inspired by the hit telenovela Ellas son… la alegría del hogar and created by Marc Cherry, Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios.

Season 3, which will air next year, will be executive produced by Cherry, Sabrina Wind (Desperate Housewives) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives). Joining them is the creative team of Ric Swartzlander (Cougar Town), Brian Tanen (Desperate Housewives), Larry Shuman (Kissing Miranda), David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
