Sarah Goldberg has died of natural causes at the age of 40, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The actress died peacefully in her sleep at her family's Wisconsin cabin on September 27, her mother Judy Goldberg told the newspaper. "She went to sleep and didn't wake up."
The Chicago native, who went by the stage name Sarah Danielle Madison, broke out in Hollywood in the TV series Judging Amy in 2002. She was best known, however, for playing Sarah Glass Camden (Barry Watson's love interest) in 7th Heaven from 2002 to 2006.
"#RIP Sarah," Watson tweeted following the news. "I will miss you always. Love Ya! B."
"She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' of the rabbi," Goldberg's mother said of her work on the family drama. "She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on 7th Heaven."
Golberg also appeared in Without a Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, House M.D. and the 2001 films Jurassic Park III and Training Day. Her most recent work was playing Colleen Sarkossian on the CW series 90210.
