42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: Complete List of Nominees

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominees were announced on Tuesday. General Hospital led all shows with 28 nominations. CBS grabbed the most nominations among networks with 62, followed by PBS (50), syndicated series (50), ABC (35) and NBC (20). “The Young and Restless” accounted for 25 of CBS nominations. CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” grabbed 19. “Young and the Restless,” “Bold and the Beautiful” and “Days of Our Lives” are also competing in the best drama race — and they’re also the only remaining soaps on the networks.

Alex Trebek and Florence Henderson to Host 42nd Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards; Michael Gargiulo to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced today that “Jeopardy!” game show icon, Alex Trebek and Florence Henderson, stage and television star of “Oklahoma” and “The Brady Bunch,” will host the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards on Friday, April 24, 2015. The reception and presentation will take place at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles beginning at 5:30 p.m. In addition, this year’s Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to producer, director, Michael Gargiulo, who in his over 50-year career has had a hand in many television classics such as “Password,” “I’ve Got A Secret,” “The Tell the Truth,” The Thanksgiving Day’s Parade,” the “Tournament of Roses,” plus many variety specials for CBS, including the “New Year’s Eve Celebration” for more than 30 years.

Daytime Emmy Nominees to be Announced March 31st Live on 'The Talk'

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and The Talk have announced that the nominations for the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be revealed live on The Talk on Tuesday, March 31 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT/CT on CBS. NATAS will release the full nominations list immediately following the program online. Encores of this special episode of The Talk will air on Pop on Tuesday, March 31 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET/PT featuring the nominations of the Daytime Emmy Awards. The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony airs live exclusively on Pop on Sunday, April 26 at 8 p.m., ET/5 p.m. PT. Paul Telfer will play Xander on Days of our Lives . Paul Telfer has joined the cast of NBC soap opera Days of our Lives as Xander. On March 12, Telfer tweeted a photo with "Mr. X" on his dressing room door. On March 17, he tweeted a photo of himself with the caption, "Prepare yourself America. You're just a week away from meeting this guy." Telfer debuts on Days of our Lives next week. Fans are wondering if "Xander" is actually Alexander Neil Kiriakis, the son Justin (Wally Kurth) had with Anjelica Deveraux (then Jane Elliot, who plays the mother of Kurth's Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital ) in 1989. Sonny recently visited his half-brother "Alex" in Arizona, which helped fuel speculation that they are one in the same. Stephen Nichols and Peter Reckell Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) and Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) are returning to NBC soap opera Days of our Lives , according to Soap Opera Digest “Stephen Nichols and Peter Reckell have signed deals to come back for the 50th anniversary,” Executive Producer Ken Corday tells Digest. “They represent two of the most popular characters in the history of the show.” Days of our Lives will turn 50 on November 8, but the actors will pop up on screen well before then. Nichols will arrive in late August while Reckell shows up in early September.
