The upcoming Revenge season finale, slated to air Sunday, May 10, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC, will be the end of the series.

“We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story,” executive producer Sunil Nayar tells EW. “We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale—which is fabulous—everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks.”

While Nayar promises closure for fans, “There’s a tiny little cliffhanger in the series finale,” he says. “We don’t want people to get weary of the stories we’re telling, so we felt like they deserve an ending to this novel that Mike Kelley started four years ago. I really feel like the last couple chapters are worthy of the first many.”

The series finale is titled "Two Graves." Backed into a corner, Emily is forced to admit her guilt, but she’ll have to decide how far she’ll go before admitting defeat. Will Emily/Amanda end up dead like her nemesis, Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe)? Stay tuned!

Soap Worlds Collide at New Web Series Cast Gathering in New York

Anne Howard, Stephen Schnetzer, Colleen Zenk, Anna Holbrook, Ryan Brown and Nelson Aspen.
It was Six Degrees of Soap Stars this week when actors from Another World, As the World Turns and Guiding Light came together for a gathering of cast members from the upcoming Nelson Aspen-Janet Iacobuzio web series, shooting a series of promos and title shots.

Stay tuned to Serial Scoop for updates and announcements on this exciting new project as they become available. In the meantime, let's look at the many soap lives of this talented group.

Anne Howard is best known to fans of daytime drama for her portrayal of Nicole Love on Another World, and Kimberly Brady on Days of our Lives. Her many post-soap opera credits include primetime serials Desperate Housewives, Nip/Tuck and Private Practice, and she has become a host/spokesperson extraordinaire for a number of companies.

Anne Howard, Stephen Schnetzer, Colleen Zenk, Anna Holbrook
and Ryan Brown will appear in Nelson Aspen's upcoming
web series.
Stephen Schnetzer played Days of our Lives' Steven Olson and One Life to Live's Marcello Salta before taking on his signature role as Cass Winthrop on Another World from 1982 to 1999. He later crossed the character over to both As the World Turns and Guiding Light. Schnetzer was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1990 for his work on Another World. He played "Dr. Cass Winthrop" (same name, different character) on two episodes of Homeland in 2013, and recently reunited with former Another World co-star Alice Barrett in an episode of The Following.

Colleen Zenk spent 32 years playing sweet-heroine-turned-mother-from-hell Barbara Ryan on As the World Turns, earning three Emmy nominations, critical acclaim and a huge fan following along the way. She has been working non-stop on stage, TV, film and web series since ATWT went off the air in 2010, including the Indie Series Award-nominated role of Agnes Snead in Western drama Thurston.

Anna Holbrook has appeared on One Life to Live and All My Children but is best known for her Emmy-winning work as Sharlene Frame Hudson (and her alter Sharly) on Another World. In 2008, she played the wife of former Another World co-star Kale Browne in an episode of a radio soap opera I wrote and produced, Scripts & Scruples.

Ryan Brown starred as legacy characters Bill Lewis on Guiding Light and Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless. Since his soap days, Brown has become a successful author and photographer.

Denise Pence and Nelson Aspen
Nelson Aspen played Albert Prange on Search for Tomorrow, and then moved to the production side of daytime drama, working on the staffs of every East Coast based serial drama, doing everything from casting to writing. He is currently an international entertainment reporter, who appears on the popular Australian morning show Sunrise.

Denise Pence is still remembered fondly for her run as Nurse Katie Parker on Guiding Light from 1977 to 1985. She has been active in the theater community since her soap days, including her heralded work with The Rehearsal Club.

Mary Beth Evans Back on Contract with 'Days of our Lives'

Mary Beth Evans won her first Daytime Emmy award on Friday, April 24 as a producer on The Bay.
Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady) is the latest veteran actor to sign a contract with NBC soap opera Days of our Lives, joining Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis) and Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis).

Evans blogged about her lack of story when she returned to Days as Kayla in 2010.

"I was working in the family pub, and I would have days when all I would say was, 'here is your to go order.'" Evans wrote. "At first I felt a bit humiliated and asked myself, 'how did it get to this?' Then I realized that I was lucky to have the job at all, and instead decided that I’d be the VERY best background player there ever was! I rocked that pretend bar – marrying condiments, folding napkins, wiping down the counters! I hung in there with a smile on my face and an improved attitude, and eventually things improved. Now, here we are four – five years later it has all changed again. I am back on contract, working like crazy and loving the stories I am playing. It is crazy how it turned around."

Days of our Lives has been undergoing a number of changes in front of and behind the camera this year as the show heads toward its 50th anniversary in November, as well as a possible renewal or cancellation.

Head Writers Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell were replaced by Dena Higley and Josh Griffith on February 16. A top script writer was let go soon after.

In March, it was announced that Lisa de Cazotte was out as co-executive producer, replaced by director/producer Albert Alarr. Janet Spellman-Rider was upped to producer.

Longtime fan favorites like Peter Reckell (Bo Brady), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) and Alison Sweeney) are among those returning to the show for its milestone anniversary.

Scott Turner Schofield -- Photo Credit: Monty Brinton/CBS/Landov
Scott Turner Schofield is joining the cast of CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick, described as a "transgender mentor" to fashion model Maya Avant (played by Karla Mosley).

"I’m Maya's best friend and I come from her world when she first landed in Los Angeles before she became the huge success that she is," Schofield told New York Daily News. "We met in the trans community together. I’m her friend that comes in and kind of help remind her that she is beautiful and whole and authentic exactly as she is. And as things start to happen and discrimination mounts, she can stand strong in who she is and how she made the right choices for herself. So in that sense, it feels like playing myself in a certain way."

Schofield has already shot 6 episodes, and will make his B&B debut on May 8.

The role will mark both Schofield's television debut, and the first time a transgender actor will play major, recurring role on a daytime program.

The actor celebrated the milestone on Facebook Tuesday, posting, "Very proud to announce a big career move."

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out on Sunday night at Stage 16 of the historic Warner Bros. Studios Lot in Burbank. The ceremony was hosted by Tyra Banks, and executive produced by Michael Levitt of Michael Levitt Productions with Gary Tellalian and Mike Rothman also serving as executive producers. It was an uneven ceremony that, like in recent years, relied on a number of gimmicks throughout the evening instead of trusting the content of Daytime TV to be worthy enough on its own to draw and keep a viewing audience.

A cold open featured Ellen DeGeneres and Matt Lauer announcing an end to their prank war…or at least that's what viewers were led to believe. Soon after, the Today show host was donned in the familiar 50 Shades of Grey reminiscent pasties, underwear, whip and stockings. Then, Ellen announced that Matt Lauer had agreed to donate $1,000 to a charity every time a winner personally thanked him in their award acceptance speech. If I hadn't received a press release on Saturday night about this, I would have never known that a "prank war" was going on. Aside from not being particularly funny, it drove home the fact that, once again, Ms. DeGeneres was not going to show up in person to support the Daytime community that has embraced her and her work.

'Days of our Lives' Casting Two Teen Roles: Danielle and Mason

NBC's Days of our Lives is casting two new teen roles.

The show is seeking a beautiful brunette to play the contract role of Danielle, a 16 to 17-year-old who is described as loving and warm, but has experienced pain in her past. The casting notice describes the character as follows: "She, at times, can seem selfish and cruel and controlling when she is in certain social situations in which she feels backed into a corner. At her core though, she is a very good person."

Could this be a Ciara Brady recast?

Days is also seeking to find a 16 to 17-year-old actor to play the contract role of Mason, a quiet yet stunning teenager who has also suffered tremendous loss.

Is this a brand new character or might "Mason" actually be an aged Chase Jennings?

Stay tuned!
