Christie Clark and Austin Peck Returning to 'Days of our Lives' as Carrie and Austin

Austin Peck and Christie Clark. Photo Credit: JPI Christie Clark and Austin Peck are reprising their roles of Carrie and Austin on Days of our Lives . Serial Scoop teased this news on September 12. Days of our Lives is the gift that keeps on giving for me,” Clark tells Soap Opera Digest. The actress began playing Carrie as a child in 1986 (replacing Andrea Barber in the role), and was last seen in Salem in 2012. “Thirty years of fun, drama and love in the afternoon!!” Peck replaced Patrick Muldoon in the role of Austin in 1996, and was last seen in 2006. Look for Austin and Carrie to appear in early 2017 in a story involving Carrie's mother Anna (Leann Hunley).

Another Star Returns to 'Days of our Lives'

It has already been announced that Charles Shaughnessy (Shane), Patsy Pease (Kim), Leann Hunley (Anna), Christie Clarke (Carrie), Austin Peck (Austin), and Greg Vaughan (Eric) are returning to Days of our Lives . However, those aren’t the only stars making return appearances. In 2017, look for this performer to make a quick return to Salem, for a special event that should make fans very happy. Updated 11-25: Shelley Hennig, who played Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla's (Mary Beth Evans) daughter Stephanie Johnson on Days of Our Lives from 2007-2011, will be reprising her role in February. Stephanie makes a brief return to Salem to attend Steve and Kayla's wedding.

Greg Vaughan Returns to 'Days of our Lives'

Greg Vaughan Entertainment Weekly is exclusively reporting that Greg Vaughan is returning to his popular role of Eric Brady on Days of our Lives . Vaughan, who is currently appearing as Calvin on OWN's  Queen Sugar,  will first air January 17, 2017 on Days . “After coming toward the completion of Queen Sugar, I had the opportunity to speak with the executives and head writers at Days of our Lives,” said Vaughan in a statement. “I’ve always been proud of my time and the work I contributed to Days, and I was excited at the opportunity to reunite with the cast and crew. I feel my job as an actor is about more than just stepping on stage and taking a role. I’m trying to create a presence that resonates for myself and the core of Eric Brady. 'Serial Scoop Now': Ade Otukoya Talks 'A Taste of Honey' and Previews 'We Be Nurses'

'Days of our Lives' Casting New Role

Days of our Lives has put out a casting call for an actor between the ages of 35 and 45 to play the role of Scooter. Scooter is described as a handsome, eccentric, elitist math professor with a sex addiction. The principal role is tentatively set to begin taping in late September, and the actor will appear in multiple episodes.

Finola Hughes Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Finola Hughes is back in action on General Hospital as Anna Devane. The actress took some time off this summer, but is taping at the GH studio again. Hughes will first air on September 28.

Who Else is Returning to 'Days of our Lives'?

'Serial Scoop Now': Kurt Bantilan Previews Upcoming Roles in 'Dog Sees God' and 'We Be Nurses'

He portrays a transgender woman named Jessica in the series about a group of eight nursing students who come into their own as they become friends. 'Days of our Lives' Casting Call Reminders: Hilary and Gleason

Days of our Lives is currently seeking a striking actress in her mid-30s of any ethnicity to play the role of Hilary. The casting notice describes Hilary, a police officer, as “outgoing and warm…. She has recently taken a leave of absence from her job for a few months to recover from an intense case that she solved.” The character is needed for an 8-10 episode arc that will begin taping in mid-September. Days is also seeking a strong, experienced actor between the ages of 35-45 to play Gleason, a right-hand man to a crime boss in Salem. The actor must be 6’0 or taller but not over 6’4. It is a two-day principal role for now with the possibility of future shows and begins taping in mid-September. “He has a charm and ease about him but can turn on a dime and be your worst nightmare,” reads the description.

'Greenleaf' Is the Most Watched New Cable Show of Summer

OWN's hit drama series "Greenleaf" is the most watched new cable show of the summer, and year to date is the #1 original cable series on Wednesday nights for women. The series delivered record numbers with its season finale last night (8/31) with 2.4 million viewers and a 1.84 women 25-54 rating making it the network's most watched and highest rated Wednesday telecast in network history. The success of "Greenleaf" along with Tyler Perry's "The Haves and the Have Nots" gave OWN its highest monthly primetime rank in network history in August (#12) among women 25-54, while OWN's +11% prime growth over last August made it the fastest growing Top 15 Network on ad-supported cable. The network also delivered two of the summer's Top 3 scripted series on ad-supported cable for women with "Greenleaf" and "The Haves and the Have Nots."
