This is posted at SOC and I believe come from SOD. I should have the magazine later today unless somebody else has it and has already seen this. This is in the poster's own words.

While an airdate has not been announced yet, ATWT is doing a special show to celebrate Helen Wagner (Nancy) 90th birthday. They are doing what they call a prequel to life in Oakdale before ATWT began. The show will involve the entire cast and current Oakdale residents will play previous characters or current characters when they were younger. For example, Maura West will play a young Lisa. There will be more details in the next SOD. Christopher Goutman is doing an interview on the special as well as what's to come in the future in Oakdale.

This sounds like it might be a lot of fun. I'm so glad they aren't totally ignoring Helen Wagner's birthday. :clap

I'm so happy too they are doing something. I do think it could be fun. I know the actors all have such respect for Helen that I'm sure they will do whatever they can to make it great.

I also think it's perfect that Maura is playing a young Lisa :shutup Maybe Michael will be a young Bob.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Of course, they should have coincided this with Helen Wagner's actual birthday, but still very cool nonetheless.

I really wonder who's going to play who. Will they have a young John Dixon?

This sounds really cool!! Much better than the sinking of the Valeta when Nancy/Helen turned 80.

I didn't know they did that on Helen/Nancy's 80th b/d?

I forgot they did that on Nancy's 80th.

Yep. The Hughes family celebrated Nancy turning 80 with a dinner on the Valeta. Penny and I think Don too (not sure about him) came in to celebrate. It also turned out to be Molly and David's botched wedding on the boat. I clearly remember Penny saying "Who are these people?" :lol
Ciao!

This show hasn't been taped yet, but it will be a nice tribute I hope. It will be interesting to see Lisa, Bob, Nancy, Penny, etc. played by the current actors.

Any idea when it will air?

I'm really curious who will be playing all the various characters. My first guess was Tom and Margo would be Chris and Nancy but maybe Bob and Kim will be Chris and Nancy :hmm

Hopefully BB and CG will give us some more scoop in their interview next week.

They haven't taped yet so I imagine it's for November sweeps. Ellen will be Nancy.

It makes sense that they would do it for sweeps. Ah Ha so my first instinct was right about who should play Nancy!

I spoke to a Telenext rep before Christmas and this episode had "not been scheduled" whatever that means. I think it was supposed to be taped a long ago. I hope they are just saving it and it has nothing to do with Ms. Wagner's health. That's always my fear since we only saw her twice in 2008.

I worried that it could have to do with her health but it seems they could have still worked it so she didn't actually have to be shown. I have emailed them and while they answer other emails, there was never any response to that. I have a feeling they never taped it.

They could have at least run a happy birthday scroll the day of her birthday since she actually appeared on the show that day.

She was owed a tribute.

The episode was going to feature Nancy, not in a huge way, but the whole story was going to be based on Nancy talking to Margo about the old days. I know it's a tribute to Nancy and I hope it happens but it's still a good idea and could happen using Bob as the focal point.

But I sure we get to see Nancy again in 2009.
