Carly stopped by at the farm to talk to Jack about what she thinks is bothering him. He's not there, but Holden is, so they end up talking and having coffee. Actually, the scenes with them today were fine. Lily saw them having coffee and talking when she got to the farm to return some of Emma's dishes from the wedding. Of course she couldn't just go on in. Noooo, she had to call Mike up. Mike was at the site, and had just learned that the place where Paul had been backhoeing was getting bigger and bigger, kind of like a sink hole. The whole site would have to be shut down. Well, Lily was intent on evening things up after seeing Holden and Lily, so she told Mike he "owed" her because he never hooked up with her at the tree. They agree to meet later at The Lakeview. When Lily gets home, she finds out that the kids don't have school. Of course Lily can't cancel her meeting with Mike, so she tells Faith that she's going to call Holden to come babysit, and that Faith should hold down the fort until Holden gets there. When Lily calls Holden, of course, his phone was at the farm, and he wasn't, so Lily left a voice mail and headed out to meet Mike. Margo sits Janet down at Al's and tells her that it's very important that Liberty testifies against Leo. Margo brings out the "I speak from personal experience" card, and by the time she's done, she has Janet convinced. Janet says she'll talk to Brad. Carly's gone to the station and gotten Jack to come with her to Yo's where they can have some privacy. She tells him she thinks that Brad's the one responsible for pushing Leo in the water and that Jack took the evidence. She says she knows that Brad and Katie and Janet are "in on it". Jack tries to deny it, but ends up admitting it. He and Carly have a really wonderful talk, and you could just see them getting closer. Jack realizes that he's got to do the right thing and he and Carly head out to the farm to find Janet and the evidence... Meanwhile, though, Janet's gone to WOAK and told Brad she thinks that Liberty should testify against Leo. Brad goes into self protection mode and says that it would be better for Liberty to have her dad around, and not in jail. Then Janet slips and says that Jack gave her the evidence, so next thing you know, Brad convinces her that if they destroy the evidence, it will be like Jack never took it, and that will be a good thing for everybody, including Jack. So they go to the farm and Brad sets the evidence on fire and tosses it into Emma's kitchen sink. Just then, Jack and Carly come in. Jack tells Janet he wants the evidence. Now. Janet can't believe this is happening. When Jack realize that Brad and Janet have destroyed the evidence, he goes ballistic! Janet keps trying to say she was doing him a favor, and Jack yells that he didn't ask for any favors. He storms out and Carly follows him. She asks him what he's going to do and Jack says there's only one thing to do now.... ![]() There's plenty of chaos going on at Fairwinds. Meg called Babs to say that Paul hadn't come home all night, but then Paul shows up and says he was at the site but he wasn't backhoeing... he goes and showers and intends to go back to the site, but Mike comes in and yells at him for going to the site and causing the sink hole damage. Mike leaves and Babs comes rushing over to see what's going on. She and Paul talk while Meg gets dressed. Barbara comes up with a plan to get Derek off Paul's back. Then, she and Paul make up a story about Paul going to see Dr Michaels so that he can mellow out and be there for Meg. Meg is thrilled to hear this... of course, it's BS.... ![]() Pretty soon the phone rings and it's a reminder that Meg had an appointment with Dr Schiller. Meg had forgotten and says she'll be right there.... Paul's not at the hospital, though, he's out on the site. He removes the boards that Mike had put over the sink hole... meg calls him and says she's at the hospital, so Paul rushes over there. Lily and Mike end up in a room at the Lakeview and have sex. They're dressed and down in the lobby when Holden walks in. Lily asks him if he got her message and he says no, so then they realize the kids are home alone, and Holden rushes over there, with Lily not far behind. Poor Faith has been trying to deal with an energetic pre-schooler and work on a report. Natalie isn't wanting to play with Ethan, so Faith gives him a ball. He ends up outside with it, but nobody notices, and as he's kicking it around, somehow he gets to the site.... and he's standing right by the hole... ![]() Holden gets home and they realize that Ethan's gone. Faith feels terrible, and Holden says it's not her fault. Lily walks in and learns that Ethan is missing. ![]() Jack goes to the police station and is sitting looking at his badge when Margo walks in and tells him he doesn't look good. He says he isn't good, and tells her about taking the evidence and that it's destroyed. Margo has to sit down. ![]() Meanwhile, Carly and Janet are talking about Jack, and there's a little bit of territorialism going on between them. Jack shows up and says that he's resigned from the force! ![]() I was really impressed with the writing for Carly and Jack today, and of course with Maura and Michael. ![]() Brad is just showing in the worst possible light. and Janet is seeming really clueless. I can kind of get why she's going along with Brad, but still.... :rolleyesThis entire mess with Paul and the project must stop. ![]() Lily looked really bad today, too, motherwise.

I thought today's episode was excellent! Even the Paul stuff was okay because Babs was on too. From the previews, we see Jack resigning next week. I think this is the best thing for Jack's road back to Carly. He did something wrong--broke the law, even--for what in his mind were the right reasons. Just like Carly has done umpteen times. He needs to take this fall in order to finally understand Carly and now become completely judgement-proof regarding her. What makes this so great, is Carly is not judging him at all, but showing how much she really loves and understands him. I see great potential here--hopefully the writers won't mess it up. |

MP may never win a daytime Emmy but performances like these just reinforce how lucky we are to have had him grace ATWT all these years. A stellar performance & riveting from start to finish. Jack Snyder may not be everyone's favorite guy but he cannot be dismissed or ignored. He is the quintessential "hero". As in the myths all heroes have to have flaws otherwise we couldn't recongize what makes them special. Perhaps now is the opportunity for Jack to start up his own PI firm & partner with his Nora (my beloved Carly) solving crimes as only thy can? J&C were made to be the Nick & Nora or Dave & Maddie of daytime. Let's do this. |

Marty, I couldn't agree more! So many actors who start out on soaps leave to 'try other things'. I am so glad that Michael has chosen to stick around. Even though Jack can be a real jerk at times, I still love him flaws and all and this is due entirely to Michael's protrayal of him. He and Maura are fantastic together! |

I'm with as well. Michael and Maura are just amazing both together and individually. No disrespect to the other actors, but these two just raise the bar with everything they do. I'm anxious to see how this plays out and I know there are going to be some pretty terriffic scenes coming up. |
