The rescue of Ethan is underway, or it will be as soon as they can get the sides of the pit shored up. Ethan's yelled, so they know he's conscious, and Lily is trying to keep him calm by yelling down to him.

Holden's had Carly go tell Faith something...anything, but just don't disturb her. :rolleyes . So Carly leaves and does her best and brings Lily a bottle of water. At first Lily won't take it and tells Carly to leave, but she pulls herself together and takes the water and tells Carly to go away, so she can focus on Ethan. Carly does leave, but says she's not going to stop trying to help.

At WOAK Brad's, as usual, spaced out, and Kim again stops taping. Brad and Katie are in their "room" at the station talking when Janet shows up. She tells them that Jack's resigned. Katie's horrified but Brad seems totally focused on himself. They start yelling and Kim overhears something about "tossing somebody into a reservoir" but Katie and Brad smooth things over. Not very well... :hmm

Henry's still locked up and James is still bringing him meals. :rolleyes Derek's there trying to convince Henry that the women are okay and that the best thing Henry can do is wait this out. Henry responds by throwing his lunch on Derek. :shutup

Upstairs, Meg's giggling about her ultrasound and showing it to Paul, who tells her she needs more rest. :rolleyes She does go upstairs and then James pops in. He makes a couple of pop ins, and during one, tells Paul to act like a man. Paul turns his back on James and is yelling at him when Meg walks in and wonders why Paul's yelling... :shutup

Paul's been to the site while Meg napped and now tells her about Ethan. She insists he take her to the site.

Vienna and Bonnie are pounding and yelling and Vienna breaks her expensive shoe cause she's been using it as a hammer. One thing leads to another and they get into another cat fight. Cute, but enough already... :rolleyes

Kim learns about the accident and sends Brad and Katie, along with a camera man (who looks about 12...) to film.... :waiting

Janet goes to the site, too, and wants to help, but Jack isn't ready to deal with her. She figures something out on her own, though, and leaves, returning later with w of her best customers from Al's, who bring enough food to feed everybody. She tells the guys that whatever Jack says, goes, and starts setting up the "buffet". The look on Jack's face says that he's got to admire what she's doing... :2thumbs

Henry gets James to drinking wine until James falls asleep. Then Henry finishes digging a stone out of the wall, and somehow this allows him to escape. :hmm He only gets upstairs, though, and is picking up the phone when Derek and James shows up and subdue Henry.

Meanwhile, Vienna and Bonnie are somehow in danger of freezing to death... :huh :huh ... Vienna's drawn a line in lipstick down the floor, so they are separated, but because of the cold they get ahold of a blanket somewhere and huddle under it, making sure that they're each on their own side of the lipstick line. :pullhair :pullhair

Faith wants to go to the site and at first Emma won't let her, but Carly suggests that Faith bring some of Ethan's books and read to him, and Emma agrees to that. Emma then apologizes to Carly for being rude to her earlier, to which Carly replies, "it's already forgotten". :heart They go to the site and Brad and Katie are busy interviewing people. :rolleyes

Paul and Meg are there and Mike starts yelling at Paul saying this is all Paul's fault. (Well, Paul does have to be blamed for a lot, but he's not the only one..) :waiting

Now the pit is shored up enough for somebody to go get Ethan, lowered down in a harness, and Mike's going to do it, but Holden insists on going. Then Paul inserts himself into the argument and says that HE's going down into the pit. Emma walks up and tells everybody to be quiet, and that Holden should be the one to go. Then she says they should all pray, and they all hold hands and start to say the 23rd Psalm ... :smile

In the wine cellar, James tells Henry that he has one option, "I suggest you pray..." :shutup

I just don't get this disgust James has for Paul... :hmm

Maura West showed off her acting chops well today! :clap

Brad and Katie as the reporters on scene were ridiculous. :tomato

Did Meg change her top before leaving Fairwinds for the site?
:huh

Timmy's in the well :lol :lol :lol Funny thing, my husband walked by while I was watching and he said what's going on and I actually said "Timmy's in the well!!"

I think Bonnie and Vienna are making a silly situation rather good. I like the two of them together and what could be just plain dumb, is a little bit better.

Timmy's in the well......I'm still laughing!!

Barb, were you thinking of my Timmy with your title? :biggrin

I know that Meg went to get a jacket, or something, so maybe she changed her shirt, too.

Honestly, it was a good show, but I could have done without Vienna and Bonnie. Also, you're right about Katie and Brad as reporters being there.

I thought today was pretty weak. If we are supposed to care about Ethan in the well, then show him! And Noelle wasn't really convincing today. I think some of the acting really drops off in these outdoor scenes. I don't know why but I didn't really feel bad the whole show about Ethan. Emma and Carly were the only ones I felt any emotion out of.

Brad and Katie being there with a camera crew was just ridiculous.

Vienna and Bonnie were majorly annoying.

Henry and trying to get James drunk on half a bottle of wine and then scraping his way through the blocks was really stupid. I'm not feeling it.

If James is passed out, why not take all those bottles and smash him over the head and make sure he doesn't wake up? How stupid can Henry be?

I enjoyed the show even if parts had me :rolleyes

James had more than a half bottle of wine because Henry was talking about finishing off the 2nd bottle and I suspect Henry was drinking very little. What would have made more sense was for us to see James open an eye and watch Henry so we knew he was faking it.

I understand James frustration with Paulie boy. (We're going to have to get out that get a haircut smilie again for him. He's starting to look like helmet head ) James is effective and Paul is ineffective. James would have had the job done long ago.

The less said about Peg the better :sleeping

Brad is really scum :tomato I can't even stand to see him anymore. All he thinks about is himself and you know in the end there will be no consequences :cuss

I'm loving the CarJack writing right now but especially for Carly today. I liked that she understood where Lily was coming from and was going to get out of the way but she was still going to help. I thought the scene was Emma and Faith was terrific! :star

So if Paul fell in that hole the other day and walked out by himself, just how deep can it be and why can't they see Ethan :huh And then we have the macho men fighting about who is going to get a chance to be the hero :pullhair What was crazy to me was the fact that there were so few people there to do the rescue and obviously it would have been a professional going down the hole. :rolleyes

I enjoy Vienna and Bonnie together but give them something else to do but catfight. Both actresses are better than that!

Yep, Timmy's in the well. :lol Ali, that's funny that you said that same thing. And no, Karen, I really didn't think about your Timmy, I might have thought twice if I had. :shutup

I went back and looked at Meg's top and I think the deal was that in the house it looked a lot darker than when she was outside in the natural light. :hmm

It's not that I don't think Vienna and Bonnie are funny, etc, I think they do a good job with crappy material... :tomato to the writers... not the gals...

I think we're supposed to think that the hole has continued to get deeper since Paul got in and out. :waiting

Exactly, I was waiting to see James peeking at Henry while Henry was messing with that stone, too.... :rolleyes

I think one of the good parts was Henry throwing that food on poor Derek. :rofl

Carly has really been well written lately and of course, well acted... :2thumbs

I just feel like with a young boy stuck in a big hole, this whole thing should be more emotional and making us cry for the family and for Ethan. Instead it's mostly the same old sniping and ranting between all the same people. I would love to see one day off from that where people actually acted semi-decent with each other.

I think the prayer was a good idea, but somehow it didn't work for me either. Maybe if Emma had said the prayer in her own words. But having these sluts, manwhores and felons reciting a passage from the Bible didn't make me feel anything especially when we have to see Carly and Janet looking at each other and all the triangle-y stuff thrown in.

And even if the hole is somehow so deep that they can't see Ethan, wouldn't they lower a video camera or some kind of sound equipment in there to try to get some sounds down there. Are they actually seeing him, but we're just not seeing it on TV?

Now just be thankful they didn't lower any camera down that pit, Roger, because probably somehow Katie would have gone down there with it. :shutup I don't think they are seeing him, as they've commented that they can't see him, just heard him...

Well, I think the reason we're not feeling that much emotion, besides, as you said, all the stuff back and forth between the people on a personal level, is because we just haven't had the opportunity to get that attached to Ethan... we've hardly seen him at all... :rolleyes

You know that old saying, "church is for sinners"... 'nuff said. :devil

I have been agreeing with everybody's comments about the storylines....BUT in softer tones.

Ethan? Like Ethan who? Oh...the forgotten son of Lily and Holden that was raised mainly by HOLDEN when LILY was in a coma or something.

LILY did not seem so....bad towards CARLY for me.

The most emotions that I saw came from EMMA...which she provides so well with that pained look she creates.

Having JACK's resignation hanging over the construction site and THEN having the OAKDALE NOW on the scene....typical soap crap....but something that KIM would have tried to avoid. Especially with LILY being part owner of WOAK.

Some comments about MONDAY's HONEYMOON....If I was ever looking forward to a wedding with the current cast of characters/actors....it was AARON's and ALISON's wedding. BUT then I had to deal with the fact that the wedding was such a farce. I still like the current CHRIS...but every storyline that he has been involved in....just makes me want to slap him instead of just enjoy watching him. ALISON....has so many internal issues...that are just not on the surface. She fawns over the big lollipop of CHRIS....sleeps with him....and then marries MY SNYDER MAN....AARON.

The soap has been o......kay. BUT...I am ready for something a few steps UP.

I loved Carly on yesterday's show. Maura West is one of my favorites. She is so good in every scene she does.

I miss Martha. I say that all the time,of course. I imagined seeing her crying with tears running down her face and her nose running, overacting and chewing scenery as only Martha could.

I laughed when I saw the title of this thread. Jon Provost who played Timmy on the old Lassie show was on the Morning Show on CBS this morning. He was promoting his new book:"Timmy's in the Well".

He said that Timmy never fell in a well. That is just something that is always said when they talked about his show.

I love the look of the new board.
