For crying out loud! James comes up with a plan to "challenge Paul" and says that "it's time for Paul to learn to function in the real world." So the plan involves Derek in the back seat of Paul's car, holding a knife to Paul's throat, for starters. Now, this part is kind of funny, cause Derek keeps pressing the knife, really hard, and it must be made out of plastic, cause not even a knick, and each time Derek pushes, Paul makes a face and says, I kid you not... "Ow!" :lol :lol

Then they go to the reservoir and Derek has a rowboat waiting and Paul's hands are tied behind his back and Derek rows them out aways. Then they struggle and Derek pushes Paul out of the boat. There's a rope with a cinderblock tied to it, and that's tied to Paul... and Derek throws the cinder block into the water... buh bye Paul? :huh

Derek goes back to the wine cellar, where Henry's just finished having a fake asthma attack, and tells James that what James had him do to Paul is not in his job description.

Luke and Lucinda show up at the work site. They've been on some trip and just flew home. Just as they arrive, Holden is finally lowered down into the pit and things do not go well, and there's yelling and dirt falling.... Holden yells that he's okay, and they haul him up and take him to the hospital. Holden's injuries are minor, a sprained ankle and scrapes from rocks, and he insists that he has to go back to the site.

Jack's there with him, and the two have a little bit of a cousins moment. Carly's mentioned and also the fact that Jack messed up and isn't a cop anymore. :2thumbs

Lily's been busy reading to Ethan. She says that he hasn't said anything for a long time, and I'm thinking well, ya know, maybe he can't hear you? Her voice is very, very soft. :smack

Emma's back at the farmhouse with Meg. Emma is having kind of a meltdown about Ethan's accident and blaming herself for selling part of the farm. She feels as if she's made a deal with the :devil and Meg says that this isn't Paul's fault. :shutup It ends with Meg giving Emma a pep talk that is really kind of, uh.... :waiting Emma at one point actually asks Meg to carry a picnic basket with food to the site... uh, hello, at risk pregnancy alert. :pullhair

Janet's running around trying to get Jack's attention, hopeing for a :smile . :smack Carly tells her to take it down a notch. :2thumbs

It's decided to send some stuff down to Ethan, like food, water, blanket, and Janet gets the to go get a favorite backpack of his to put the stuff in.

Carly gts an too and aks Mike to wait if possible before sending the backpack down. She's thought of something that should be included. By the time she gets back, she's missed the backpack, but her idea is so good that Mike says he'll send down what she brought - a small, supersensitive microphone, one way, that somehow she got at Metro from somebody... this way Lily can hear any sound Ethan makes. She asks Mike not to tell Lily that this is her idea.

Paul has managed to untie the rope from the anchor and comes back to Fairwinds, soaking wet. Before he can clean up, Meg walks in and starts grilling him. He tells her that he'll tell her the truth after he cleans up, but she keeps nagging at him until he finally says that somebody tried to murder him, and the rest will have to wait.

When Paul comes downstairs, clean and dry, he does tell Meg a lot about what's going on, but leaves out James. Meg's horrified and wants to call the police and have Derek arrested, but Paul says they can't do that. Meg then starts wailing on Paul who asks her why she always acts like she's ready to leave, like she's waiting for him to slip up. :clap :clap Way to go, Paul! :2thumbs Meg calms down and says that of course she's not leaving him, she loves him. :rolleyes

Janet's ended up at the hospital and has a talk with Jack, who says he's not mad at her, he's ashamed, he's not the man he should be, or used to be. He says he needs time, and Janet cries a little and Jack is sympathetic. She tells him that when he's ready, she'll be waiting for him, and that when she looks at him, she sees the best man in the world. :heart

Derek tells James that Paul's upstairs with Meg. James starts laughing about Paul being alive. :fliplid Derek starts going off on James, saying he's leaving, and James says that Derek owes him, and can't leave until James says he can. Henry's been listening to all this and when James walks out, Henry gets Derek to remove the gag and starts trying to get Derek to talk, and to come over to his side... :hmm

Lily's having a bad moment when Mike comes over to her and tells her to listen. (he's using the microphone hookup that Carly brought and that is apparently already down with Ethan) We hear Ethan singing to himself, and Lily feels a little better.

Jack's back at the site, and realizes that it was Carly's idea to send down the microphone. She asks him to please not tell Lily, and Jack pulls her into his arms. :heart

At the very end, Holden arrives back at the site, and sees Jack holding Carly and Mike holding Lily, and turns his back on both of them with kind of a Holdum look on his face. :waiting

Well, I really liked the show today, Paul and the knife and all... :shutup

It was a wonderful carjack day, and even a nice Janet/Jack day. :2thumbs

Some of the stuff was kind of :down , for example, Faith and Natalie seemed to be all alone somewhere, and where is it that Lucinda and Luke were? :huh

This Derek stuff is intriguing me, and I'm :fingers that maybe we'll get our wish and he'll turn into a good guy and stay in Oakdale.

James is just plain coocoo!
:eek

You really got my hopes up with "Paul swims with the fishes...." :rofl :rofl

But it appears that Oakdale hitmen can't finish the job.

I normally can't stand Paul and Meg, but today was different. I loved it when he called her on always running home to Mama if things don't go just the way she thinks they should. It's about time. :2thumbs :2thumbs :2thumbs

As much as I disliked Janet when she first came on, I like her now. Jack has been a calming influence on her character. I want Jack and Carly to be together, but I just can't hate Janet.

I still think Derek will be the one who gets killed. Would be a shame though, because he is nice and could have a sl with Bonnie.
