The news of Dusty's return from the dead is spreading through Oakdale like wildfire. ![]() Emily goes to Memorial and gets in Susan's face, assuming that Susan was in on the faked death. Susan adamantly denies that, and says she'd like to go kill Dusty herself right now. Then she warns Emily to stay away from Dusty, but of course she can see that's not going to happen. ![]() ![]() Alison and Casey have a little pity party at Java. Casey lets Alison know that he knows she slept with Chris the night before her wedding, and asks her to be honest about why that happened. Ali is still in denial, though, and insists that she was just having cold feet about being good enough for Aaron. Then she gives Casey some advice about his fight with Emily - she tells him to just tell Emily he's sorry about what he said about the tubal ligation, and Em would come back to him... ![]() Chris does a little unseen pop in but leaves before either Ali or Casey see him. Kim's got big ideas for a shakeup at WOAK. She's brought in a new on air personality, Spencer (ex Inturn Contestant winner) who will do a show called Oakdale 411, and she wants Brad to be the co-host, while continuing to do Oakdale Now with Katie. Katie, meanwhile, would also do hard news... Brad doesn't think he can do it, no self-confidence without Katie, but she talks him into it, so he agrees, and then he and Katie and Spencer go to lunch to brainstorm...Lucinda comes to the interrogation room for a quick, and anonymous meeting with Dusty. (yeah, right, anonymous... ) These two are really awesome in scenes, and of course, it comes out that Lucinda was in on the fake death somehow. She tells Dusty to stay away from Lily, but Dusty says he'll only agree to that if that's what is best for Lily....Meanwhile, Lily's called Holden to come home. She wants him to come with her to talk to Dusty. (Well, at least she's being upfront with him.) :rolleyes Holden is definitely not happy that Dusty's back, OR that Lily wants to talk to him, but he accompanies Lily to the cop shop, where, surprise, surprise, they walk in on Lucinda and Dusty and hear Lucinda saying that "nobody can know about my involvement in this..." Although Dusty and Lucinda try to cover, finally Lucinda admits that she was in on "it" almost from the beginning. Lily is horribly angry and cruel to Lucinda, and tells Lucinda to leave, which she does, and Holden leaves Lily and Dusty to talk... so now you can see that Dusty still cares for his Lil, but tells her that he had to go find his son... Lily lets him know something of what she suffered when she thought he was dead. As Dusty takes Lilly's hands, Holden stalks in and yells, "take your hand off my wife!" :freak He tells Dusty he never wants to see him touching his wife again, and that he wants Dusty gone. Dusty says he only came back to keep Meg from being in trouble with the police... Holden takes Lily and they leave... Chris finds Kim and tells her that he's going back to Africa. He can't take being around Alison, he knows he's not behaving the way he should be, and he hopes that being away will help him turn back into the kind of guy that Kim raised him to be. ![]() Casey brings coffee and an apology to Emily, but she isn't starting up their relationship again. She tries to let him down easily but of course Casey's is broken.Susan has gotten a chance to tell Alison about Dusty being back in town. Of course Ali is shocked, and says she's got to talk to him, to thank him for leaving the scholarship for her. Susan wonders what's wrong with her "girls"... Then Ali drops the bomb on Susan about her marriage with Aaron probably being over. ![]() When Lily and Holden get home, Lucinda's sitting on their couch waiting for them, and insists on talking to Lily alone. Holden asks Lily if she wants him to get rid of Lucinda and Lily says no, while Lucinda chimes in, "As if you could!" Then mother and daughter have a very emotional talk, with Lucinda saying she was only trying to protect Lily, she was afraid Lily would have gone off after Dusty if she'd known he was alive. Lily said that Holden was the one who protected her, and that she would never have left her children. Lily says that it's always been Lucinda saying she was protecting Lily, but instead, Lily ended up hurt, and it is going to end..now! ![]() Lucinda asks for a chance to explain exactly what happened, but Lily doesn't want to hear. Holden does, though, so Lucinda says that she didn't know anything until Dusty came to her after and asked for mony to pay people off so he could go find his son. She said that that gave her an opportunity to save Lily from the disaster she was heading for, and asked Lily if that was so wrong. Lily says yes, and please leave now. Holden and Lily sit down, and he says that he really hated seeing Dusty holding Lily's hands. Lily says that's how she feels when she sees him with Carly. :rolleyes Dusty is getting released, and guess who's waiting to give him a ride? Yep, Emily. She takes him to The Lakeview and he checks in. As she's starting to leave, he grabs her hand and asks her not to leave. ![]() Casey goes to Memorial and tells Alison that Emily wouldn't go back to him, and wonders if something happened that he doesn't know about. Alison says yes, Dusty's back. ![]() Katie and Brad have hurried home from lunch with Spencer, to make love. Before things can really get going, Brad has his shirt off but that's it, Spencer shows up at the door, wanting to run another idea by Brad. He is gracious, but says they can do that in the morning at the studio and shuts the door. Spencer is left fanning herself from the heat of a shirtless Brad. :rolleyes ![]() I loved Lucinda today, in all her scenes, especially with Dusty. She and Lily were good, too. But, this day had the feeling of a rerun of peoples' emotions, etc... I hope it branches out quickly. ![]() Suddenly the police station is so far from The Lakeview that Dusty needs a ride? ![]() We need Craig back in the mix, and yes, even Paul.

Lucinda was the highlight for me today. I must admit, although it wasn't a popular opinion, I wasn't that upset when Martha Byrne left. I could basically take her or leave her - but now, oh boy, absence makes the heart grow fonder......! I just find the Nu-Lily so one-dimensional. I keep waiting for her to bring it up a notch, but it never happens. Even when Ethan was in the hole, her hysteria never quite reached what I would imagine something that horrible would bring. And today, she just fell flat for me. When Lucinda said to her "you were dissolving in front of my eyes", or something like that, I remembered back to that time with Martha and she was so good at dissolving, at really going out there on the edge. But looking at Lily today, it was like, I couldn't even begin to picture her "dissolving". Anyway, I was really glad to see Lucinda and I like how her and Dustry play off each other as well. |

Gawd I can't believe how attached I've become to Dylan Bruce. Nothing against Marnie and Agim but I think they are losing the best part of this triangle. All this SL did was make me dislike Aaron and Ali and make me resent tptb for axing Dylan.
I know that must have been difficult to type.

Ali, I also didn't care that much when MB left, and I do like nuLily, but I agree that she doesn't show vulnerability like MB did... she seems to come across as a very strong woman no matter what. Except when she's begging for sex, of course.

The LILIES....hmmmm....that is a tough one. The only true time I LOVE MB was when she played ROSE. When BROWN LILY emerged...I started to just get very tired of her. I think just the writing that just kept MB-LILY spinning and spinning and spinning in the same old rut made it much easier for me to just let MB leave and move on. Show politics aside (if I really LOVED MB like some have expressed, then I would look at her departure differently) but... NB-LILY...I agree that she does not play the VULNERABLE CARD as well as MB...but NB-LILY is fine with me. The SHOCKER of the DAY....DYLAN BRUCE has LEFT THE BUILDING?? I missed THAT one. Is HE really gone?? SPENCER...I hope she does an ALI TRANSFORMATION SOON...BRAD with TWO BLONDES...??? Tough one to accept. DUSTY and LUCINDA do rock the soap world. I figured that LUCINDA would end up being the BANKROLL behind his departure...but I did not see the hints. I am ready for more BARBARA and DUSTY TIME. What gets me about DUSTY...he is such a WHITE KNIGHT around his covey of women but then he was able to slip away and stay away from them so easily. THEN BAM! he is back in full force. It is like nothing has changed since he left. |

The Susan/Emily conversation just felt very awkward. I know they don't have the greatest relationship, but something about how Susan reacted to Dusty being alive and Emily's non-reaction just seemed very off. Maybe I was just expecting Emily to acknowledge her mother is looking out for her best interests or maybe Susan to lean in to give Emily a kiss of affection on her cheek....something was missing. Lucinda/Elizabeth has been looking great lately. I'm glad they are using Lucinda a little more these days, but I did not buy her reasoning to Lily AT ALL. She just wanted to protect her? This screams of the writers obviously not having a backup plan to reviving Dusty and are just putting random crap together. My favorite part of the episode was when Lucinda dropped the act and Dusty told her it was good to see her, then she rummaging through his brids nest of a hairdo! I think Casey and Allison would work great together and always felt this way, even before CasEm and even WAAAAAAY back with Zach and Allison. It would be a little weird for the sisters to share 3 men (Chris, Dusty and Casey) but stranger things have happened on this show. |

Scott, I thought, too, that Lucinda's explanation to Lily was and was something the writers came up with to resurrect Dusty. :rolleyes ALSO, I think that we can still hope for Barbara to have been involved as Lucinda said she only found out about it later on... so in my little beady mind I keep hoping that somehow Babs was in on it, too, earlier or later... probably just wishful thinking on my part, though...

That was not it for Chris. His last day is the 15th and we will bet a scene of him with Bob and Kim yet. His talk of wanting to go back to the guy he used to be and not liking who he is totally convinced me he's just headed off screen for a few months so they can try to rebuild the character after all the damage the writers did. I don't think they knew how else to fix it. I thought Nell did well for her first day Given time, I might like Ali and Casey together if they don't rush it. The best part was definitely anything Lucinda. This was the most I have enjoyed her in a long time. I especially loved the Dusty/Lucinda scenes Their dynamic together is so strong and the show really wastes that. They should have a great business story together. I have to think when she tousled his curls, that was pure EH and not written in
