Janet's got the day off after the mugging, and Henry tells her to take care of herself. :2thumbs Then Jack shows up at her door and wants to talk to her. At first she won't open the door, but she finally does. When Jack sees her bruised face, he assumes that because of him, she hooked up again with some guy who pounded on her. :rolleyes Janet is mad as hell and tells him to get out.

Then Jack goes to the diner and learns what really happened. He tells Henry that he put "my big stupid foot in my big, stupid mouth!". :shutup Then he heads out to catch the mugger. His detective work leads him to Lester, who's holded up in a hotel room with a lady of the night, Crystal, I do believe her name is. :devil Jack's had to get a little rough with the desk clerk to get info, so when he comes down with the perp and Janet's ring, there's Dallas. The clerk called him. Dallas is furious with Jack for handling things on his own, and says that Jack could be in big trouble. Jack asks Dallas for an hour, which Dallas reluctantly agrees to, after asking, tongue in cheek, if he and Jack are going to go into their own company after Dallas loses his job, too. :lol

After Meg's latest doc appointment she runs into Lucinda, who strongly suggests to Meg that Paul should sell his shares in WW. Or there could be trouble for Paul, and stress for Meg and the baby... :hmm

Emily and Paul have met at the Lakeview, at Paul's request, to talk about their big plan. :rolleyes Emily's nervous that Dusty will see them together, and also that he'll find out she didn't really go see Meg. Sure enough, Dusty appears and Paul covers in a very Paullike way... yelling at the top of his lungs to Emily to stay away from Meg. :shutup Dusty comes over and there's more of the usual back and forth. Paul leaves.

Janet puts on a bunch of makeup and comes down to the diner. Henry is trying to tell her that Jack knows about the mugging, but she declares the diner to be a Jackfree zone, not even a mention of the name Jack and any customer named Jack must change their name. :lol :lol

Almost immediately, though, Jack comes in and begs Janet to come to the police station with him... she reluctantly agrees and when they get there, the first thing she sees is Lester. She yells that that's the guy who mugged her, and tries her best to beat the stuffing out of the guy... Dallas accepts that as an ID and asks Jack, "Have you ever thought about getting into police work?" Jack laughs, but Dallas is serious. "Come back to work, Jack!" :eek Dallas tells Jack to seriously think about what he wants to do. :hmm

Jack asks Janet if he can take her home. :smile Once there, he apologizes to her for what he assumed and told her that he wishes she'd called him last night when the mugging happened. One thing leads to another. :biggrin Jack kisses her face and asks if that feels better... she says yes, but.... "it really hurts all over" :lol :lol :lol And they're off.... :shutup

Meg gets home and tells Paul how nice it would be if he wasn't tied down to WW. Paul admits he doesn't really enjoy the work, and goes down to talk to Lucinda. He gives her a short amount of time to agree, or not, to buy him out. Lucinda is thrilled, but doesn't show it... Brian walks in and Lucinda tells him about Paul's offer. Brian advises her not to do it. He says she should take a good look at her life, and spend it doing things that will really make her happy.... :hmm

Lucinda heads out to The Lakeview and finds Dusty and Emily. Dusty has just been telling Emily that he's at loose ends, and that maybe he needs a job. They're about to head upstairs to "get to work" when Lucinda shows up and asks to talk to Dusty in private. Emily leaves.

Lucinda tells Dusty about Paul's offer and says that she really doesn't want to run the company full time, but doesn't want Paul to sell his shares to just anybody... Dusty has a solution. He'll buy Paul's shares, but they can't let Paul know about it... Lucinda warns him that Paul has an animal instinct about Dusty and might find out.... Dusty's up for the challenge, though. :biggrin

Upstairs, Emily's on the phone with Paul, saying that his plan worked and she thinks Dusty will stay away from Meg. Then she hears Dusty coming and hangs up. Dusty tells her she'd better start calling him 'Boss', because he is buying WW! :eek :eek :eek (Dusty, Dusty, Dusty, do you really think Emily can keep her mouth shut? :gaah :gaah :gaah )

Dusty says that the transaction will be handled through an offshore company...his... :biggrin Meg asks him if he's really doing this for Meg, and he admits that she's part of it. Emily is not happy, saying that she doesn't think this is staying out of Meg's way... Dusty says she should just not worry, and that as long as Paul doesn't find out that Dusty is the buyer until after the deal's done, all will be well... and now....wait for it.... :cuss

Emily gets on the phone to Paul, who's in a great mood. He's just learned that the deal is going through, and he and Meg are happy. Emily tells Paul, "Dusty's the one who bought out your shares!" :pullhair She quickly hangs up and an enraged Paul throws something....

Back in Dusty's suite, a stupid, really stupid Emily, accepts a "promotion" from her new boss and they get busy celebrating in their own way. :puke :puke

Carjackers, beware, you're not going to be happy with one part of the previews! :cuss :cry

How in the hell can Emily be stupid enough to behave the way she did today? :pullhair :pullhair :pullhair

So now Brian is some kind of a "stop and smell the roses" guru? :huh

I hate to say it, but I liked Jack and Janet today. Just plain good acting, but darn it, I don't want to like them as a couple.

Next week may be one of those weeks where it would be good to record so that you can watch the show in small increments. :devil :eek

The Janet and Jack stuff was okay, but I am still rooting for Carjack to get it together and reunite :pullhair .

The rest of the episode was ridiculous. I forwarded almost the entire episode. Even Henry was causing me to fall asleep.

I hope next week is better! :fingers

This episode gets: :star
