Katie's at the diner, supposedly telling Vienna and Henry to stop trying to find dirt on Spencer. Henry'd be willing to go along with that, but not Vienna, and before long it turns out that Katie says that they're adults and can make their own decisions. At WOAK, Spencer's looking in the paper for a different place to live when Brad walks in. He admits that Vienna and Henry were being overprotective and that as he speaks, Katie is telling them to back off. Then he tells Spencer that they thought Spencer has a thing for Brad. This causes Spencer to start laughing her head off, which kind of offends Brad. ![]() Katie shows up and, realizing that Henry and Vienna might be making a return trip to Spencer's room to see what's in the suitcase under the bed, is frantic when Spencer says she wants to go home and rest. So she finally gets Spencer to agree to lunch, or herbal tea or something... unfortunately they end up at The Lakeview, and unfortunately, Henry and Vienna are up in Spencer's room. :rolleyes When Spencer goes to the ladies' room, Katie slips away from Brad and calls Vienna and Henry to give them a heads up. They tell her they've opened the suitcase and it's full of money. Lots of money. Katie tells them to get out of there, fast. Of course, Brad and Spencer walk up just then and Katie has to come up with a cover story. She uses their maid, Hazel, but when Spencer leaves to go to her room, Brad grabs Katie and says, "I think I'd know if we had a maid." ![]() Margo's trying to get out of the police station but there is just so much work that she ends up having to take an armful of files with her. As she's leaving, Dani shows up, saying she's applied for the profiler position and just needs Margo's approval. Margo snidely says, 'oh, can't Auntie Em call the mayor again?' Margo brushes past Dani and leaves, and apparently Dani sits down to wait. ![]() At the farm, once again Emma's kitchen sink is getting worked on. Janet walks in and Jack ends up getting sprayed in the face. Janet's safe, though, cause she's wearing a raincoat. She tells Jack she's got a surprise for him, but before she can reveal it, Margo comes in. The long and short of it is that Margo strongly urges Jack to take his job back, with all the old bennies; salary, benefits, desk... She tells Jack to think about it, but that if he says no, she won't ask him again. ![]() Jack tells Janet that he's always wanted to be a cop. His family life, growing up, made him want to make the world a better place. Janet says that although it's his decision to make, she hopes he'll say yes. They go to the police station, and Jack gives Margo the answer she wants to hear, "yes". Jack will report to work tomorrow. ![]() In the interrogation room, Jack says he wants his surprise. Janet says oh not here, but Jack is like a little kid, so.... Janet opens the raincoat... yep, only Janet underneath... Surprisingly they don't go somewhere and have sex, but end up at Yo's. They're having trouble finding a place to go and be private, and Jack now asks Janet if she wants to live with him. She tells him no. Jack can't believe it and asks her why. She says that she wants the real deal, the whole deal, this time around - marriage, a husband and home.... Katie just can't let it go, and tells Brad she's going to the police, to Margo, and tell her what's been going on, about the money in the suitcase, and let Margo handle it. She wants Brad to come with her, but he refuses, so she heads down to the station alone. There, she finds Dani sitting at a desk, still waiting, I guess, and Margo's not back yet. Katie ends up telling Dani, who she thinks is a cop, I guess, the whole deal with Spencer and the suitcase. Dani plays along, and tells Katie she'll check into it. She must do it very quickly because next thing you know, Spencer is walking up to Brad and Katie, carrying the suitcase. It turns out that the money is fake. Spencer says it's a gift for her autistic young nephew, who loves to count money. Talk about feeling stupid. ![]() Later, Brad tells Katie that he's really concerned about what she's doing. He thinks that maybe she's trying to sabatoge him and the new show. He says he doesn't even know who she is anymore. He also says that he can't believe that Henry didn't realize the money is fake. ![]() Margo returns to the station and doesn't want to talk to Dani, but then Dani tells her about Katie coming in and thinking Dani is a cop and that Dani helped her out. She asks Margo if that counts for anything, and Margo says... maybe...Katie storms into the diner and angrily asks Henry and Vienna how it is that they didn't recognize fake money. They insis that the money they saw wasn't fake. Somebody switched it.... ![]() Janet and Jack are out in the Old Town Mall, Janet's still in her raincoat. She says she'll take a raincheck on the raincoat surprise. Jack says there's got to be a way to work things out, and Janet kisses him and walks off, saying she'll let him figure something out. ![]() Well, obviously Spencer IS up to something, now that we realize she switched out the money. But what. ![]() I'm kind of wanting to at all this detective work by Henry and Vienna and Katie. I surprised myself and was glad to see Dani today. ![]() Thank goodness Jack is back on the force. ![]() I know I'm going to have to duck but I really, really liked Jack and Janet today... a whole lot. ![]() In the previews, Alison was saying, "You mean be a spy?" and I was thinking oh no, not again, remember the time she spied during the baby story, Gwen and Will? ![]() |

Thank you for another wonderful recap. Just one question....was Janet walking around all of Oakdale/Milltown with only a raincoat on during the entire show? Sounds a bit uncomfortable to me. halways

Well Barb Jack and Janet were okay as a fling but it's run it's course. Today was because it was all a recycle of prior Jack or Carly scenes. The writers aren't even invested in them enough to give them anything new! The broken pipe taken straight from Colden. Carly at least wore a teddy when she surprised Jack at the OPD Valentine's Day 2006 and their's was a very hot and sexy scene. Janet I want it all became just like Katie. And how many times have we seen Jack rush into a relationship with another woman in order to deny his feeling for Carly? And tomorrow the interrupted proposal will be a page out of the first Kack proposal. Not a thing new Why on earth would Janet show up at the farm naked as a jailbird, wander all around town like that all day and then suddenly become puritanical and not want to have sex unless they are married? What was she planning on when she showed up at the farm? Yet later she said they couldn't do it there. The whole story surrounding Spencer is so lame and painful to watch. I had really hoped they would do something better with Nell. She seems to be getting more airtime but her story stinks. Does anyone really believe that Brad would just ignore what Katie is saying Everything now is just recycled stories and that really needs to change.

Yep, halways, she wore the raincoat and nothing but for the entire time. I, too, thought how uncomfortable that must have been...

Judy, I knew you'd be the ringleader of the throwers. I realize that the stuff between Janet and Jack wasn't original, but I am just enjoying the chemistry between them. I could really picture them as a couple. They don't have that sultry sexuality that Carly and Jack have, but they've got something.

What I see more is a buddies chemistry. It's nothing that makes me go wow. And I think it's too bad with what they are dong that no way will it be possible to have Carly and Janet become friends. That could have led to a longer friendship and story but they've ruined that now. And unfortunately if they don't end this soon, Janet will wind up going the way of the Julia's which would be a shame. She has potential to be a viable character but they may destroy it if they drag this out. |

Yeah, I can agree. They do have a buddies chemistry, and I won't be happy if they write Janet into a position like the Julias somehow.

They do have buddies chemistry. Like Judy said, I think that Carly and Janet could have been great together as friends. It's too bad that they ruined that. Now, that won't be possible. |

I agree they were nice seens between Park and Pinson. I agree they have chemistry. I would love to see them do a play together. But nothing they have is worth Janet and Jack actually being a real couple. I don't want to lose Pinson or see her go all psycho, but I don't want her with Jack. |

Sounds very worthy. Oy. I don't have the stomach to watch Jack in yet another round of "I am happy...really I am" denial. I still see Jack & Carly making the same stupid mistakes. I thought the "are we together?" talk at the farm the other day was just awful. I mean, what are they, in high school? I'm actually getting so frustrated with them I don't even want them together. They both obviously want to be together, but if they are too STUPID to UNDERSTAND that on a conscious level and/or are too childish and prideful to admit it and MAKE it work, then maybe neither of them deserve it.. :rolleyes

I was watching Japanese ATWT today. The voices were slightly ahead of the lip movements of the actors. It was annoying up until Margo mouthed thank you thank you thank you! I was thinking I had completely lost sound until it dawned on me what she had done! I am a die-hard Carjacker through and through, but even I confess to liking Jack and Janet. I don't want them to live happily ever after or anything, but I think Janet is the perfect woman to make Jack realize in the end that he has been a major ass to Carly all these years . In the end, I think Janet is going to be the one to call everything off. I really like how they have matured the character. She definitely has rootability now compared to her first months on the show. I hope, once they part ways, that Janet can find someone who can love her unconditionally. I'm actually hoping that Dusty can come into her orbit at some point. Those two could be smokin' hot! What irritates me most is that it appears that Carly may do the chasing after Jack thing once again. I am so over that. I want my CarJack, but I want Jack to be the one to do the pushing and groveling for her heart for a change. Spencer is still annoying although I am curious who she's working for or running from. I haven't liked Dani since they brought the character back. Actually, I almost forgot about her as we haven't seen her in a while. If they can give her a story, a decent one, maybe I can get behind her, but for now, I could care less if she disappears never to be heard from again. |

Good point about Jack & Carly acting like they're in high school. I, too, get so frustrated with them. Shoot, they're supposed to be, what, in their late 30's, early 40's and you'd expect them to have a little bit better grasp of how to make a relationship work, if they really want to be together so darned bad.

As others have stated yesterday's show with Jack & Janet was nice but clearly a rehash of scenes we've all seen before. Well TPTB are clearly investing in JP's Janet with a vervor & a zealousness. When Janet comes crashing down it won't be pretty. Janet is the preverbial deer in headlights. Watching road kill is something we all look at but turn away quickly.... |

LOL name one couple that has a grasp on how to make a relationship work and gets airtime? Sadly the writers mistakenly believe that a happy CarJack is boring so they won't let them make their relationship work for any length of time. What the writers don't realize is CarJack is actually the most interesting when they get along and work as a team whether they are in a relationship or not. What makes them interesting is when they put aside their differences. Instead the writers think the triangles and constant angst , and fighting is more interesting along with them "finding their way back." You would think by now they would realize that doing this is setting Janet up to be roadkill. Then they blame it on the fans when it's really the fault of the writers who should know by now what the results will be. FYI Carly is mid-30's and Jack is late 30's. |

Gee, do ya think we have enough quotes? ![]() I can't name a soap couple that can make a relationship work, but it would sure be nice to have a few. Geeze. I agree, watching all this 'finding ourselves back to each other' stuff is pretty stomachturning after awhile. ![]() OK, about those ages.... I think it's pretty funny how the kids get sorased at the speed of light but the adults seem to get younger.
