I really :heart the show today! :2thumbs

Aaron's filed for divorce and told Alison that she should be getting the papers soon. She seems surprised that it's happening so soon, but at the same time, she admits that they don't work as a married couple. She wants them to be friends, but Aaron said she pretty much sucks as a friend to him. :shutup

Janet's excitedly telling Liberty about how things stand right now with her and Jack. Liberty thinks Janet's insane for holding out for "forever", and says she hopes Janet doesn't end up like the creepy old lady in a book she's reading in class. The woman waits so long for her prince charming that she becomes an old lady, and the wedding dress she's wearing is covered with cobwebs. :cry

Janet sends Liberty off to school and has this fantasy about herself as that cobwebby lady. :lol

Holden and Jack are out at the farm talking about their affairs of the :heart .. Good old Holden is trying to give Jack advice, and I was :lol because you know... Holden?????? :pullhair Aaron shows up, in a funk and Jack puts his foot in his mouth talking about Aaron's honeymoon phase marriage. :devil

Luke comes into Java and Casey's right behind him, congratulating him for running against Kevin. Noah's unhappy that Luke made the decision to run without talking it over with him, but Luke says that things went so fast he didn't have a chance. Pretty soon Ali walks in, and despite being down about the divorce stuff, she quickly gets in on the conversation about Luke's candidacy. I really enjoyed these scenes. It was pretty funny, cause Casey and Noah kept saying things like "You're not exactly Mr Popularity" ....

Then, Kevin and a couple other kids come in, and Kevin asks Luke if he's supporting him. Luke says, "Meet your competition!" :2thumbs Kevin is cool, and walks off with Mark, his campaign manager. :lol :lol

Casey and Noah decide that Luke needs a campaign manager, too, and they suggest Casey. Casey says absolutely not, but when Luke and Noah are gone, Mark comes over and starts laughing about Luke running against Kevin. He says that Luke's a creampuff and if he's elected he'd probably change the mascot from a Bulldog to a French Poodle. :lol :lol When he walks away, Casey tells Ali that's it, he's gonna be the campaign manager, and he insists that Ali help out. Casey says that Ali can be a spy... She says she doesn't even go to OU and Casey laughs and says "I hardly even go.... " :lol :lol :lol

In no time at all, Kevin's bringing Ali with him to one of his campaign meetings. Mark starts laying out plans for getting Kevin elected. Mark is really being disrespectful to Luke's sexual orientation, and is falsely laying out what Luke's platform might be. :cuss Ali can't stand it and walks out. Kevin looks decidedly uncomfortable with what Mark's saying. :2thumbs

Ali goes back to Java and reports back on how Kevin's entire campaign seems to be based on homophobia. Luke is sad to hear that Kevin didn't tell Kevin to shut up. Noah and Casey and Ali are angry and hurt for Luke. Luke tells Noah that with his support, he can take anything. :heart

But, back at Kevin's meeting, Kevin is showing what he's made of. He tells the other people at the meeting and Mark that he's not trashing his opponent, and that Luke Snyder is a good guy. :clap :clap

Lily has a flat tire outside the school and after some twists and turns, Carly ends up driving Lily home. Lily invites her in for a cup of coffee/tea and tells Carly how she and Holden are going to take leaps of faith. Carly promises to keep her distance and wishes them luck. She tells Lily how much she's missed being friends. Lily says she doesn't think they can be friends, but when Carly looks sad and said she could really use a friend now, Lily says she'll try to act like they're friends, and they can see what happens. :2thumbs So then the two women have a really nice talk, not back to the way they were, but.... of course, most of the talk involves Janet, Jack and Carly, and Carly starts to realize how she really feels about Jack, and how maybe she made a big mistake trying to shove Janet down his throat.

Liberty comes to the cop shop and talks to Jack about how she doesn't want her mom to get hurt, and how Janet acts tough, but is really a softie. Jack tries to explain his feelings on getting married again, but Liberty isn't on that page. As she leaves, she gets a call from Janet, who says she knows Liberty isn't in school, and guesses that Liberty has talked to Jack. :shutup

Later, Jack and Janet get on the phone and agree to meet outside the bookstore at the Old Town Mall. There, Jack asks Janet if she is wanting marriage, and Janet says yes. :hmm She says, though, that she can understand how he feels, and she's okay with it. Jack gets down on his knee and takes her hand...she's talking and talking and Jack tells her to be quiet for at least a few minutes, so she does, although it's not easy... then, Jack asks, "Janet Ciccone, will you marry me?" :eek A shocked Carly is standing out of sight, watching.... :cry

Holden comes home and Lily tells him about her coffee with Carly. Holden's glad, but tells Lily not to expect him to have coffee with Dusty. :lol :lol

Let me say again that I really liked today's show. :2thumbs I know the carjackers won't be happy with the proposal, but I know that carjack are in the longterm loop of the show...

I particularly liked Lily and Carly, and also the college student body stuff. :2thumbs I do have to ask what in the world was up with Casey's hair? He had these long locks hanging where his sideburns would normally be, made me think of a certain branch of the Jewish religion. He still looked hot, but...
:hmm

I really liked today's show, too. I'm glad Carly and Lily have made up.

The election story looks like it will be really good.

I do like Janet, but Jack belongs with Carly. I'd love to see a Dusty and Janet pairing. Much, much better than having him anywhere near Emily.

Today's episode was pretty good. I love the Luke, Noah, Casey, Alison, and Aaron young adult crowd :cool . Sad to see Aaron with his broken heart, but he was honestly looking at the world through rose-colored glasses if he had no clue what was happening between Chris and Alison!

I love the Luke, Noah, Casey, and Alison scenes. It's great to see young adults doing things young adults do. I can really relate to them now. I also love Kevin being a good guy and not falling into that homophobic trap he might be tempted to fall into :clap . Unfortunately, doesn't look like his campaign advisor sees eye to eye with him :lame .

Lily and Carly was cute. I like that despite everything that happened, they can still find some common ground and be nice to each other. I like Janet, but I can't stand this repeat of Katie/Jack/Carly. I hated Carly walking up right as Jack proposed to Janet. Haven't we seen enough of Carly getting her heart broken to last a lifetime on this show? Wake up Jack, you big dummy! :cuss

That said, I am SO rooting for a Carjack reunion. I think this storyline is going to finally build up to it. I do hope that the show is able to find a love interest for Janet, beyond Jack and Brad. I do like the character, and she brings an interesting character to the canvas, so I want her to stay and be front and center.... just not coming between Carjack.

Today's episode earn's a: :star :star :star :star rating!

DD, I'm hoping we get to see some good stuff out of Kevin, ie, him standing up to his homophobic campaign manager and the rebuilding of a friendship with Luke. :fingers

Maura West really has that "pitiful but hopeful" look down to a science, little wonder, as much as she's had to use it. :smack

If the writers keep going like this, that look is going to be Carly's permanent expression :cuss
