Today was devoted to Lucinda & Brian and the campaign race for student body president at Oakdale U. ![]() Lucinda came upon Brian working in the office. She was feeling down, she really likes Halloween, and was sad that she wasn't involved with the kids, Lily's, trick or treating and costumes. I have to say I thought she was getting a little into drama queen mode, though, when she talked about how they dressed up and said, "they're thinking about what they want to be when they grow up..." ![]() Brian gets her to go ice skating with him, and she learns that he's done his research on her, as he puts it, when he calls her by her real name. She used to skate on a pond where she lived as a child, and had happy memories of that. However, her skating chops seem to have hit the road, because as soon as she and Brian stepped onto the ice they fell over... A nice moment, and later some Brian tells her he has some great port in his hotel room and invites her over. He thinks they should just see what happens, and let it, and it could be fun. ![]() Lucinda agrees, but then she gets a phone call from Susan. The results are in from Lucinda's latest tests, and Susan wants Lucinda at the hospital. Lucinda tells Brian something's come up, and that she'll meet him at his room. He can tell something's wrong, but you know Lucinda, stiff upper lip gal... At the hospital, Lucinda learns that her tests show that there's probably a recurrence of her cancer. Susan tells her to see her oncologist the next day, and the two women talk a bit about what this means. Susan tells Lucinda that it isn't a death sentence, but Lucinda is down, says that maybe if she's lucky she'll just donate another breast... Then Lucinda calls Brian and tells him she can't see him ....Elsewhere in Oakdale, it's party time. Halloween party, that is, complete with costumes and some behind the scenes campaigning for student body president. At the farm, Luke and Noah are dressed and ready to go. Luke's a pirate and Noah's a farmer. They're pretty funny and looking forward to having fun. Aaron's there too, but not in a party mood, although they invite him to come along. ![]() At Java, Casey and Ali are sitting talking about a video on USTUBE that's going to really upset Luke. They debate whether or not they should tell him and let him see it, and decide yes, so they call him, and tell him to come to Java. Once he's there, they show him the video, which is Luke's head on a figure in a tutu doing ballet. The voiceover is that if Luke is elected, he'll change the name of Oakdale U to Fairy U. Luke feels horrible, humiliated and mad that Kevin would allow this. He wants to fight back and so does Casey, while Ali and Noah think they should just ignore it. Luke and Noah go outside to talk about what to do, and Casey talks Ali into doing more spying on Kevin, to find out what he's going to say in his next speech. She really doesn't want to do it, but Casey is slick and she says ok.Meanwhile, Aaron shows up at Memorial with this brown shopping bag, looking for Ali. Susan says she left and is probably at a party at Java. Of course, this torques Aaron bigtime. Here he's come to give Ali a wedding gift from their friends in Washington state. He decides to leave it with Susan to give to Ali. (What for? What's Ali supposed to do with it, look at it and send it back? Wonder if it's a toaster.. ) Anyway, Susan kind of gets Aaron hopeful that there still might be a chance for his marriage, so Aaron decides to go over to the party for awhile...Of course Aaron walks in just in time to see Ali working on Kevin, and as soon as Kevin walks off, Aaron starts in on Ali: "It sure didn't take you long, did it? Here you are hanging all over some guy..." Ali tells him to go to hell and walks off, while Casey tells Aaron what was really going on with Ali. Aaron knows he blew it... ![]() Ali's made Kevin feel like a jerk about the video so he tells his campaign manager to take it down, which Ali passes on to Casey. Kevin and Luke meet outside and talk. Luke lets his anger and hurt about the video show and Kevin says that he hadn't even known about it and that it was coming down. Luke gets going, though, and starts talking about how Kevin is making the campaign personal. Kevin tells Luke that's not true, and tells Luke that Luke is the bigot, because Luke thinks that anybody who isn't gay is a homophobe, and says that Luke "wants everybody to be gay". Kevin is really mad and goes back inside, while Noah, who comes outside, goes back to the farm with Luke. Mark the campaign manager and another guy have realized who Alison is, and have seen her with Casey. They know something's going on, and tell Kevin, who's still angry and Kevin tells Mark to leave up the ad. Mark asks, "what about her?" pointing to Ali, and Kevin says "to hell with her!" Later, Kevin gives Ali the cold shoulder treatment.Mark and the other guy are looking for trouble, so they get Casey involved with a drinking game. Casey's getting into it and takes off his costume. Somebody sneaks away with it, and when Casey's had enough, he can't find it. Ali sees who she thinks is Casey, wearing the costume, and asks her to take her home. In a little while, though, she realizes that this isn't Casey's car. The person in the costume is not taking her home, and isn't talking, and as she starts to get more and more scared, somebody from the backseat throws a bag over her head! ![]() I really liked the show today, it was different than it has been, and that was nice. ![]() This recurrence of Lucinda's cancer, though, is happening again at a time when she and Lily aren't on good terms, so I hope we don't just get a re-run of last time. I hope they involve Brian a lot and approach it from a different angle.

I really enjoyed yesterday's show regarding Luke and the election. Good acting and good story. Really not that interested in Brian. I just haven't been able to get into Brian. And there is no chemistry between Brian and Lucinda IMO. |

I loved Tuesday's show. All characters I like. Luke and Noah are finally getting more airtime. Loved Luke's confrontation with Kevin in the alley. I've been waiting over TWO YEARS for that. I still don't trust Brian. He's too good to be true. The CBS recap mentioned Aaron talking to Noah about things being over with Alison. I assume that was a scene that got cut. We saw Aaron with Noah near the end but no dialogue. |

It was a good show. I think bringing Kevin back was smart. Karl is very good and everybody seemed to step up their game interacting with him. And it was nice to see that Kevin has matured. I too like that Lucinda has a romance but don't see any chemistry between Lucinda and Brian. It seems forced. I think they've changed Brian and made him a good guy but so far I just don't see chemistry. Did anyone besides me find it odd that Susan gave Lucinda the news in the on call room? Couldn't they have changed the furniture in a patient room to make it look more appropriate? They did that last year when Carly met with her doctor/quack. I hate, hate, hate where they are headed with Alison in this story. As far as cutting scenes, well CBS.com still insists that Jack and Carly made love on 10/14

Well, at the farm, Aaron was there and Luke and Noah, before they left for the party, and there was a little talk about Alison and Aaron being done, could that be it?

I really don't see any chemistry either between Lucinda and Brian, I think maybe it will end up with him being a good friend? ![]() Where are they taking Alison with this story?

I don't think so. This is the Aaron part from the recap: Aaron receives a wedding present and tries to give it to Alison at the hospital so she can return it to her friends. Susan lets him know that Alison will be at the campaign party at Yos and she encourages him to go find her. Aaron shows up but misinterprets Alis feelings for Kevin and ends up only offending her. He goes home and admits to Noah that he has to give up. |

Well it started with the kidnapping yesterday and then in the previews we saw her in her underwear in Old Town. It will play out today and I think it's disgusting. It's pretty much ruining what was a good story for me.

OK, that wouldn't be it, then. I remember the gift and Aaron seeing Ali and Kevin, etc, but I guess they must have cut the scene. Too bad I already deleted yesterday's show.
