From Soaps.comSoaps.com Kelly Barrett has been cast as Maddie Coleman. Kelly's first airdate is set for December 22. Next is Sarah Glendening, who will take on the role of Lucy Montgomery. Sarah's first airdate is set for December 24. Finally, Bailey Harkins will take over the role of Johnny. Bailey's first airdate is also set for December 24. I don't see the need for both Maddie and Jade. And hopefully Lucy is just short term. |

Yeah, so this sucks. I uber hate recasts. Did I mention this sucks? There's absolutely no need for Jade and I don't get why they felt the need to bring back Maddie so soon? Lucy sucks as a character no matter who plays her, so I just don't care. This sucks. I hate all of these returns. |

Okay, I imagine we are getting a Lucy/Dusty/Josie triangle with this casting development. So, is Casey going to be this pimp who juggles Jade, Maddie, and Alison... or something? Why did the show put Aaron on recurring, or get rid of Chris? Now there is an imbalance of many young women, and only one guy for possible romantic options, etc. Not smart of TIIC.

It's possible they will flirt with Jade/Derek/Bonnie. Jade may be "young" but I think she was mid 20-something, right? I still hate this. |

It is rumored that Jade will be in story with Bonie/Derek but many wonder if Derek might be her father. They could go with Jade/Dallas too. According to SOD a few weeks ago the original plan was just to bring Lucy on for a short stint. It's possible she is around only to bring Johnny back to Oakdale. I would think definitely Maddie will be in an Ali/Casey triangle. I just hope ali doesn't lose out totally and exit Oakdale. I really like Marnie. I'm wondering if they are keeping Aaron around just to see if he might click with any of them. If he is totally gone, I suspect we will see another young guy hired. |

Usually when you go from contract to recurring on ATWT, you're toast. I mean, what was the reasoning not to have Aaron at Thanksgiving? Not enough chairs around the table? They conveniently sent him out of town. It wouldn't surprise me if we hear that he found out Julie's sick again and decides to stay in Seattle longer. |

Kelli looks older than what I would expect Maddie to be. I guess they are aging the character by a couple years. She kind of looks like Natalie Portman in my opinion. Lucy looks good. She doesn't look anything like the previous Lucy's. That's alright, I'll give her a chance. I am pretty sure that we will be having a Lucy/Dusty/Josie triangle, lol! |

Hm, scenes of Maddie with Alison, Casey, Henry, and Viennia. I'm pretty sure she'll do good. I'm going to give her a chance- but I am biased because I loved Alexandra Chando's portrayal of Maddie so much. But I'm eager to see what Kelli can bring to the table. I'm actually enjoying Casey and Alison, a lot. It's obvious that they will be having a triangle with Maddie, but I'm hoping she doesn't spoil them. I want to see Maddie's reaction to learning Casey is an ex-lover of Emily. That would certainly be interesting! I wonder if Noah and Maddie will have any scenes together. Has Casey ever found out that before Noah came out as gay he was involved with Maddie? It'll be interesting if the show has scenes between Noah/Maddie/Casey with this information coming out into the open. I can imagine how awkward that will be! |

I'm liking Casey/Ali a lot too. Most importantly I don't want Ali to end up being the odd one out and have her disappear. If they want to redo Casey/Maddie, then bring back Matt for Alison since they were stupid enough to get rid of Chris. From those pictures it definitely looks like they are trying to make her look like Alex. Any of the new Jade or Lucy in actual scenes? I've seen quite a few people including Lusty fans that seem to think Lucy is only back for a short stay to wind up the Johnny story and get him back to Oakdale. |

That makes sense Judy. I've read some spoilers and opinions from some people who seem to think that this will only be a temporary stay for Lucy, to tie up unfinished business, and return Johnny to the show. The actress has a pilot airing in 2009, so if the show get's picked up, it's safe to say the actress would leave As the World Turns anyway- and I just can't see the show recasting the character for a fourth time. If given the choice between Josie staying or Lucy staying, I prefer Josie. Even though she is working with Paul to con Dusty, I really like her chemistry with Dusty and think they make a good couple. She's an unattached female in Oakdale, so lots of romantic possibilities- something the show failed to do with their attempt at establishing Sophie as a viable character. Plus the actress who plays Josie is great, but then again, the show has gotten rid of great talent like Matt and Chris before.  Honestly, I'm worried about Alison as well. I really love Marnie's portrayal, and I hope the show isn't idiotic enough to get rid of her. With Alison, Jade, and Maddie around- and technically only Casey as the only possible love interest in their age range- I'm hoping that the show is going to cast another young male. I"m guessing Aaron will be exiting... so in order to fix the imbalance of three women to one young man (not that Casey minds, I'm sure), I think that the show will definitely bring on another male to mix it up with Alison, Jade, and Maddie and give Casey some competition for their attention. I think that the show should recast Adam. They need to bring his character back, redeem him, and he can be a young Dusty type character with an dark-side and edge. Casey and Adam both have histories with Maddie, Jade, and Alison so it would make for great storylines. |
