Maura West & Van Hansis fan! Posts: 170 Group: Members Member #249 Joined: October 8, 2008	So from what I am hearing- I believe the show intends for both Craig and Jade recasts to be long term. I think we all pretty much agree that the Lucy recast is temporary (the actress filmed pilots for 2009, so if they get picked up she'd probably leave). I think the show brought her back to finish the Johnny story-line, and resolve any loose ends with Dusty, and then have the character exit. However, I am also hearing that Maddie recast is only temporary as well. She is not long term either. So perhaps the show is only bringing her back to tie up loose ends with Casey, and get the Casey and Alison relationship started up and going (which I prefer, because Casey and Alison are cute in my book). I hope this is the case, because while I liked Alexandra Chando's Maddie, I don't see the point to the character on the canvas, but if her return is only for a short time like I am hearing that makes sense. Plus, I want a Casey/Alison/Matt/Jade quad anyway, and if Maddie is just temporarily here, then that makes me a happy boy.

However why bring Maddie back at all temporary or otherwise!! Her general ties to Oakdale are Henry's sister, Casey's ex, and Noah's "beard"! I will add I did like Alex Chando in the role. IMO, take jade out of that quad and IMO you have a good triangle!

Posts: 170 Group: Members Member #249 Joined: October 8, 2008	I've been told that there are rumors Maddie is only back for ten episodes, and Lucy is a short-term contract of three months only. Who knows. I'm sure Maddie will be more than ten episodes, but I bet both will be gone by the end of three months. Jade is the only long-term addition to the show (not that contracts mean anything with Goutman in charge, but apparently she signed one).

But he is definitely needed- with Aaron pretty much M.I.A. in Seattle (forever?), Casey is the only person around. Matt would be an excellent addition to the cast. As long as they don't make him a drug strung out psycho or something!
