So we're halfway through and there are a few comments...

  • Sage is suddenly very much behind this wedding. When did that happen?
  • The propping of Janet and Liberty is disgusting. The almost entire family is rolled out for this farce of a wedding.
  • I love that Lily went after Carly when she didn't come inside right away.
  • The set-up of Jack vs. Craig has started.
  • When did Brad forget that he and Carly used to be friends? Doesn't he remember that he was the one with Carly during her brain tumor and during Jack's marriage to Katie? Nope, its all about Janet again.
  • Katie suddenly is best friends with Janet?
  • You give me passion and peace? Even Jack's vows are about Carly!!!! HELLO!!! He's looking at Carly when he says 'this is for real'.
  • I officially hate this show. Jack just told Janet that he feels like home to him. Those are the same vows from the Montana wedding! Is nothing sacred?????

I'm done.

Wow! So glad I decided NOT to watch. I'm watching my recording of Chuck from Monday night instead.

I know that it won't do any good but this is the email that I just sent to through the contact form.

After today I will no longer be watching As the World Turns. Please add me to the list of longtime viewers who have been forced to turn the channel and delete the show from their DVRs because they are no longer entertained by this show or find any comfort in the history of the show who once felt like an old friend.

I understand that there are many fan bases and that soap couples cannot always be happy. I understand that challenges and obstacles thrown in the path of a supercouple is what helps them to reach that status. But those challenges and obstacles must be balanced with anticipation, desire, and passion. That's what's missing from this show.

I feel as if this show no longer values the long time viewer, the one who stuck with the show through thick and thin. I am the viewer who's most interested in the characters than cyclical storylines, new characters who aren't connected to the core families and history of the show. That's because I probably know more about the show than most of the writers and producers.

That is what finally did it for me today. You see I know that the line today were Jack said to Janet in their wedding vows that 'she is home to [him]" was the exact same line that Jack said to Carly in their 2003 Montana wedding. I know that because I've watched the show. I hope that the pairing of Janet and Jack bring the show throngs of new viewers because this Carjack fan is done. I've seen enough to know that the promises of a Carjack reunion are false and that we've been baited to stay tuned. Well, I guess I'll just have to read about it an a weekly magaizne because the show has been removed from my DVR.

It really is sad to see the ratings each week and see the fans turning off the show. I never understood it until now. There's only so much that a fan can take before they have no reason left to watch the show. It will be sad when the show is cancelled. But then is it really recognizable as "As the World Turns" any more?

I know that I'll probably receive a standard "Thank you for your comment" reply. Please, don't waste your time. My time has been wasted on this show long enough.

It really pissed me off when Janet went to Carly's before the wedding and was warning her to stay away from Jack and giving her a hard time. If I were Carly I wouldn't have given her the dress. I barely even heard a thank you.

The thing with the kids really bugs me, too. Neither of the kids was happy about the wedding, now they're all one big happy family. Parker didn't even bother to see if his mother was okay.

I couldn't believe that Jack was looking at Carly during the whole wedding. Then, he had the nerve to tell her after the ceremony that he still loves her.

I've never really been incensed about a TV show before, gotten into fan campaigns or anything like that. Even going to the Fan Club Luncheon was a stretch for me. But I guess I get it now. Too bad its out of anger.

I haven't had the strength to watch yet. When it becomes an effort there is something very wrong!

Great letter HJ! I'll be surprised if you get the standard form letter. The reply I got yesterday was done quickly and not the standard and it was from one of the people that answers the comment line. They always say they value the loyal viewers and I do think it bothers at least the people reading the mail to hear that the loyal viewers are tuning out. Will it do any good? Probably not but maybe if they hear from enough people and if they see the ratings go down it will do something.

Judy, I was so mad after watching yesterday's show that I wrote a scathing email then, too, but the page timed out. I figured it wasn't worth it. Then I watched today and couldn't hold it in.

I said I wasn't going to either... I wasn't planning to be home but I was so... well, old habits & all that, what're ya gonna do?

My thoughts after watching the Let's Flog Carly Show: Jack is dead to me. Carjack is dead to me. It's not that Michael and Maura still aren't great together, it's not that I still wouldn't love to see them "the way they were." I just think that they have lost something by Jack going through this so many times. I no longer believe a word that Jack says about his feelings for any woman. They always prove to be all too fleeting and therefore shallow. So what would it mean now if he decides that he made a mistake and wants Carly back at some point? Nothing. We'd just be waiting for the other shoe to drop AGAIN because Jack never means anything he says. Each time that Jack says that he loves Carly but in the next breath professes his love to another woman, it diminishes Jack and it diminishes his love for Carly. I can't stand to watch that anymore. And I'd rather have them apart than to ever watch that happen again.

It's definitely ruined Jack. I can't believe that any woman would believe a word out of his mouth with his track record!

I was polite in my email but I really let it all out lol. I let them know that despite their saying they valued their loyal viewer, I felt anything but valued. I'm still going to call the comment line too and write some letters. If they hadn't teased us like they did in October maybe it wouldn't be so bad but this time they went too far.

I just watched the show I FF everything except Carly and Jack stuff pretty much although I listened to Janet laying down the law with Carly :puke :puke :puke This has done such damage to Jack and that was one thing I brought up in my email. Even today he's sending Carly mixed signals and he "needs her" to be part of the family. The man wants his cake and to eat it too! He hasn't let Carly go at all!

I'm really to the point I'd like to see both Maura and Michael move to another show and I'm right there with them.

Now I'm really glad I didn't watch. Loved your letter HJ. Like others said .... probably won't change anything but you never know. I stopped watching the show when KACK started and only began again with the "carrot" dangled that Carjack would be the endgame. What they failed to mention was the "endgame" was the end of Carly & Jack. I agree that the character of Jack is ruined beyond repair by his constant love declarations to Carly and then another woman and then Carly ....etc. As of yesterday, I'm done with the show again. I doubt I will tune back in if they dangle another carrot. Fool me once, shame on them, fool me twice, shame on me! :cry

Wow... :eek

I watched the 2nd half and was dumbstruck with how badly Jack is being written, not to mention how the kids were so supportive of Jack and Janet and totally oblivious to their mother. Was JJ there? If so, I didn't see him.

The same lines as the Montana wedding, eh? Nice. NOT. Oh my goodness, did JP and the writers pull that crap on purpose?? :huh :gaah Clearly, JP hates Carly, hates Jack and wants to destroy both characters.

I was willing to go along with Janet as a character in the show but not after today. She was an absolute b*tch to Carly and deserves NOTHING going forward. She may paint herself as a victim and a sweetheart but today was too much.

And Jack? :lame Why on earth is the show wasting Michael Park's talent? Do they hate him or something? Gone is the guy with heartfelt passion. Apparently it was all used up and he's recycling everything that he had with Carly.

I'm done trying to figure out just what Carly did to Oakdale that was worse than what Katie has done... Katie is treated like a town princess and Carly is the outcast, now apparently to her own children...

I'm officially taking another break from the show and will stick to the recaps when Barb gets back.

And HJ - your letter was GREAT!!!!!!!!! :2thumbs

Judy - you mentioned there was a phone number to call - do you have that number?

Today was a sad day, IMO. And a very :puke :puke :puke worthy one, too.

Wow! After reading all these posts, I could not agree more, with everyone! :clap I could not bear to watch this show this past week, knowing how the week would end, with the "serial groom" pledging undying love to yet another mismatched bride :24 I am loving that Carly will befriend Craig, not cause I love him, only because it will unnerve Jacka$$, and he will become obsessed with making sure Carly does not make a 'mistake'. Cause we all know Jack has never made a one :brickwall

Ya think I am taking this too personally!! :gaah
