Paul's poor maid walks up to Paul, who's just waking up on the couch. Hungover as can be. He blearily grabs her hand and thinks she's Meg...  She asks if there's anything she can do to help, and he tells her to get out, which she does.In the blink of any eye, "James" appears and starts badgering Paul to do something to get Meg back. He sees the bottle of pills on the coffee table and slyly suggests that Paul make a suicide attempt, to get Meg back. Paul thinks that could work, and with James' help, writes a kind of suicice note and puts it into an envelope with Meg's name on it. Then he calls Barbara and goes through this kind of depressed sounding garbage, so that Babs gets the idea he's in a bad way emotionally. He hangs up and leaves the house.... Barbara frantically heads over to Fairwinds, where she finds the note.... of course she opens it...  Holden brings a bunch of baby stuff to the farm for Meg. They have one of their little scenes, that really, they do so well. Meg insists to Holden that she's done with Paul for good. Holden says that it won't be over for Meg until it's over for Paul... Lily's at the Lakeview for a meeting and is on the phone with Lisa, who was under the weather and couldn't make the meeting, when Bonnie and Derek walk in. When Derek sees Lily, he gets all excited and says it's been a long time since he's seen her... Lily is drawing a blank, but eventually they realize that Derek knew Rose, back in NJ. In fact, he and Rose had a thing... Derek obviously has fond memories of Rose, and is shocked to hear that Rose has died. Lily brings out a picture of Jade and asks Derek if there's a chance he could be Jade's father. After all, he hadn't seen Rose for 20 years, and Jade is 19....  Derek keeps insisting that he's not Jade's father, surely Rose would have told him if she was carrying his child. Holden shows up and gets in on what's happening. Bonnie and Derek leave and go to Metro, and the Snyders go home. Lily wonders, "should I call Jade and tell her that her biological dad's in town?"  Holden tells her to slow down and butt out, and reminds her of how her life went off track before, when she became obsessesed with Rose... Lily insists that won't happen again, and calls Jade. But Jade's roommate says Jade's been gone for a few days, and the police are looking for her.  At Metro, Bonnie tries to get Derek to look at how he really feels about all of this. She says that having a biracial child can be tough, as her own mother learned. Derek says he never wanted to be a father, and still doesn't, which takes Bonnie by surprise, but she still tries to get through to him. Paul's gone and gotten a refill of his Rx and goes out to the cabin in the woods where Meg nursed him to health. James is already there, and tells Paul to take the pills. Paul's shocked, he never intended to actually take them! James taunts Paul with being afraid, and says Meg won't fall for an attempt unless Paul takes the pills, so... Paul gulps them down...  Barbara shows up at the farm, and hysterically asks Meg where Paul could be. Meg says she has no idea, and doesn't care... Barbara shows Meg Paul's note, and chides Meg that if he kills himself, Meg will always wish she'd done more to help him.... Barbara leaves and Meg goes over to Fairwinds. She finds the empty bottle from the old Rx and calls the pharmacy and learns that Paul just refilled them. She rushes out to the cabin in the woods, and pounds on the door. The door opens and she walks inside and sees an unconscius Paul in an armchair... She tries to rouse him, with no luck.... Meanwhile, Barbara's at the police station begging them to put out a missing persons report, but they say it's too soon... Later, she runs into Holden in Old Town and begs him to talk to Meg and get her to try and find Paul, but Holden says he can't do that...At the cabin, Meg briefly brings Paul back to consciousness and tells him she's got to get him to the hospital to get his stomach pumped. She tries to get him up, but he passes out again and falls back to the floor... She keeps trying to drag Paul out of the cabin, but soon is gasping in pain and holding her stomach. She drops to the floor.... Holden's gone to buy a baby swing for Eliza, and Lily calls Bonnie. She tells her that Jade's in some kind of trouble in Florida, where Bonnie used to live, and wants Bonnie to contact somebody there to see what she can learn. At first Bonnie says no, but eventually says she will, and hangs up. Derek snarls, "whatever Lily wants you to do, don't do it!" Later he apologizes, and although Bonnie tries to make him understand how she feels about this, he says he's got to go, and he leaves.... Bonnie makes a call to an officer O'Reilly in Florida and asks a favor. She wants the 411 on a young woman named Jade Taylor... Hmm Lily walks in as Bonnie hangs up. She tells Lily that Jade's wanted as a suspect in an armed robbery case. Lily's relieved that Jade isn't dead, but Bonnie tells her that this is serious! Meanwhile, at Lily's, somebody walks in. It's Jade. She looks around, and sees her picture sitting out. "It's good to know they didn't change everything.....  I'm thinking that James really wants Paul dead. And, how is it that James, a, what, spirit? can do things like knock things out of Paul's hands... actually make physical contact with things? Boy, it was really flashback time today when the previews showed Dusty showing up at the cabin and picking Meg up in his arms and taking her away....

It happened with Dusty and Jennifer. They were putting up Christmas decorations or something and she may have made a misstep off the ladder, anyway, she went into premature labor and Dusty helped with the baby and then swooped her up in his arms and took off...

Christmas decorations in July? Johnny was born in July lol. Jennifer had found Katie with Mike in a hotel room in Chicago and left there very upset. She called Dusty from the car and said she was going to stop at Barbara's cabin. Dusty went there because Jen was so upset. The light was burned out and Jen got up on a ladder before dusty got there to change the bulb and fell and ended up going into labor. Dusty made sure he had sheets for his new car before he put Jen and the baby in there

Well, you know, they always have those Christmas in July sales. Hey, at least I remembered the ladder.

You definitely get points for the ladder, Barb. I absolutely forgot about July AND the ladder. I knew Jennifer went into labor in the cabin, though. Seriously, the writers are just stupid and ridiculous for writing these storylines and then recycling them with the slightest tweak, like fans (especially ones with iron clad memories like Judy! ) wouldn't notice!!!  I think the show should hire Judy to keep the continuity at a maximum and the lack of repetition at a minimum

How stupid is it for pregnant Meg to try to pull Paul out of the cabin. It would have been better to call 911 but of course there's probably no reception at the cabin, if I remember the last time they were both there. From the previews I guess she's gonna reach Dusty who'll come to her rescue though it looks like he's gonna let the emt guys help Paul. I guess RH's contract requires that Paul stay alive but I hope tptb will put Paul away in an institution so he can REALLY be reformed! It's great that we're finally solving the mystery of who Jade's father is but I would have like to have seen that SL with Elena Goode in the role back when she was on. I guess with Jade now in trouble with the law she's just like her old man!

Also in regards to Jade, initially when Derek looked at NB and remarked how he thought she was "Rose" I could only see MB in the role so it was really weird! It made it all more real that MB will probably never come back as Lily.  I still would have a problem with NB portraying Rose in flashback or as a ghost and I would be really shocked if tptb decided to go there. Best to keep the memory of MB as Rose and forget the twin thing.
