Meg's still thrilled at being a mom, and Dusty's standing by to protect her from Paul, who still thinks Josey's Jennifer. :biggrin

Holden comes into Meg's room and is surprised that Eliza's been born, and not happy that Dusty's there. He tells Meg that the entire family will be there to help her. :muchlove Then he leaves to help Lily with the Jade thing...

Barbara's in and out of Paul's room. She asks Josey to stay with Paul, as she seems to calm him down, and she does her best, but it's hard for her, listening to Paul talk about wanting to be a father. Dusty's on her case anytime she steps outside of Paul's room. :smack

The baby keeps being wheeled in and out, always going for some test, then in a few moments being brought back. :lol :lol Barbara gets to meet her granddaughter, and loves her to pieces. :heart

Paul keeps hearing Eliza crying, and finally decides that it must be his baby, and goes across the hall and opens Meg's door. He goes up to her and Eliza and is very gentle with them. Meg starts to think that maybe he's not as bad off emotionally as she thought, but then he starts talking about how James told him to try to kill himself to get Meg back, and it all turned out alright. :shutup

Dusty walks in and Paul says he thinks they should all be friends, now that the baby's born and Jennifer's back and has forgiven him. :rolleyes There are some tense moments as it seems as if maybe Paul is going to hold onto the baby, but Josey comes in and manipulates things so that Paul hands over the baby and goes back into his room with Josey and Babs.

Now he falls completely apart again, and the orderlies come in and give him a shot. Babs remains heartbroken for her son. :cry

Dusty asks Josey what happened? How did Paul get into Meg's room? Josey says that when Paul heard the baby crying, he became a sane person, and she felt sorry for him. Dusty said, "I trusted you. I won't make that mistake again!" :gaah

Babs thanks Josey for helping them, and says she'll drive her home. They watch Paul being taken to the psyche ward, and Josey watches the faux little family, Dusty, Meg and Eliza through the window to Meg's room.... :cry

Holden rushes to the police station and learns what's going on with Jade. Bonnie's talking to Derek, trying to get him to get with his Florida contacts and help Jade, but he refuses. Bonnie goes back to the police station and says Derek won't help, so Lily gives it a try, and gets through to him, by asking him what Rose would want him to do. :hmm So, maybe daddy and maybe daughter meet for the first time. For now, Jade's still in jail, hoping to be out by Christmas. :shutup Derek tells Bonnie that's a pretty long shot. :biggrin

At home, Lily throws her arms around Holden and thanks her for being there for them. She wonders what she'd do without him. :heart (I thought, "probably go see Dusty..." :devil )

I just had to say, Dusty is really starting to bug me. And another thing, unless Meg conceived on her own, the baby is not "her" baby it's "their" baby! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I almost feel sorry for Paul ..... almost.

I DO feel sorry for him because he IS nuts. People with mental illness ought to be treated with compassion. The idea that people (Meg) should just give up on him forever and lock him away is really sad. Dusty's attitude and behavior toward Paul was appalling. I don't care what he's done, if he was legitimately not in his right mind (Paul hasn't been since James "returned") then Dusty ought to be somewhat understanding instead of saying "So what.. F-U." Dusty needs to STFU and go find his other kid that isn't his.

I just find Dusty too dark, negative and depressing. Everything about him brings me down. I wonder if they'll ever be able to lighten him up a little.

Paul is just not a rootable character and hasn't been in years. I feel absolutely nothing but annoyed by him. I hope the rumor posted in today's Suds Report is true.

Grayson's Dusty has ALWAYS been just as he is. His hotness makes up for it--especially with his hair a little more tamed. But I think Paul was excellent today. Totally believable, and I teared up a couple of times.

You're right about Dusty, but I think the last time I really enjoyed him, was with Jennifer. Then, he still had that dark side but she brought out a little more joy and he played it really well. So I kind of miss that.
I also agree with you about Paul, he was great today. Maybe they'll be able to bring the importance of dealing with mental illness to the forefront.

I am impressed with Roger Howarth. Paul is more believable nuts than romantic. Also this is the inevitable after Will, Barbara and Jennifer all having been committed at one time or another. Dusty could be more sympathetic but he has control issues, plus a savior complex so empathy is not his thing. He keeps it simple, Paul is weak and he is strong and Meg needs a big strong man to rescue her! :lol Holden is also being the big protector but at least he's sympathetic. It was funny when Holden said "the family" will help Meg. I guess the Snyders are the mafia of Oakdale! :devil

I'm not liking nuJade. She is supposed to be 19 though she should be older than Luke and in her convo with Derek she seems 16! This Jade does not seem like the sort of person who goes club hopping. More like an innocent teenager who was caught drinking at the prom! :smack

Ok, was I the only one during that totally non-belivable hospital room assignments, that just laughed out loud when Paul said to Dusty "let's bury the hatchet" :lol
I so wanted Dusty to say "this from a guy who was swinging an axe me a couple of weeks ago" :shutup

Let's not even go into the noisy baby cart that Eliza was being wheeled around in that also was making me crazy. :smack

I know it is tough to film scenes with a real baby due to the time constraints with using them on camera, but that whole hospital stuff was crazy. :down
