Well I have found out the following: Spoiler: click to toggle I hate the character of Meg. I want to vomit. Never have liked her. Dusty's been an arse lately, especially to Josie, someone who is trying to be a friend. So he can shove it. I'm hoping that Jack divorces Janet next, to get back with Carly.

I'm in the club that liked Meg with Dusty initially, but since then, her character has been really destroyed for me, and also, if I remember right, Dusty, at that time, wasn't as as he's been being lately. I just find it hard to imagine that they'd have Meg, supposedly so in love with Paul for so long, now decide to marry Dusty, knowing how that would hurt Paul. I suppose they'll spin it that she still "has feelings" for Paul but wants to help Dusty get custody of Johnny, but still.... ![]() And Patty, I'm with you - lock up Lucy for kidnapping Johnny and perpetrating that whole farce known as a life for the poor kid.... ![]() Now, if Carly marries Craig to help him with custody, no doubt she will be once again the town soccer ball, while Meg will be looked on as a saint....

Dusty could never have stayed with Josie, she was just a substitute for Jennifer. This has been even more evident when she pretends to be her when talking to Paul! I like her character but I don't see her being paired romantically with anyone. If she is paired with Paul it will be because tptb have no one left for her and want to keep the actress on the show. Right now she seems more like a visiting nurse. As far as Meg and Dusty, I am glad they are back. I can forgive Meg for her part in the baby switch if Dusty can. Besides she has been caught between Paul and Dusty for so long, with Paul off to the looney bin, that leaves her with Dusty. While Paul has been her patient, Dusty has been her rock with just enough crazy to keep her interested. I can understand Dusty's attitude lately because he has been searching for Johnny for so long and then to be duped by Josie. He has had good reason for being such a . Now hopefully finding Johnny will cheer him up. So now when Dusty does the rescuing it will not automatically lead to romance. I don't see the pairing as just a way to get custody. These two could stay together long term.

Meg and Paul have had such an on again off again relationship with no rhyme or reason as to when they get back together, I don't believe Meg when she says she loves Paul. This also pertains to her prior relationship with Craig. Then if you take a look at other pairings that don't make sense (Jack and Janet's marriage for example, or Ali and Aaron), you realize that this upcoming story of Dusty and Meg marrying will most likely be the same repetitive nonsense. The writers seem to think if they change the names, they have a different story. As far as I can see, nothing to look forward to. I'll keep reading this site to see if anything has changed, but I don't watch regularly anymore. |

Ditto. I'm not saying Paul is a saint but irrespective of that, I find this idea that when a person has a mental illness, is institutionalized, that you just put them away and give up on them forever. For heaven sakes, what is so bad about Paul Ryan that he doesn't deserve an attempt at rehabilitation, at redemption like every other ne'er do well in town? It just seems particularly cruel and uncharacteristic of Meg, after how much she's claimed to love him, to cut Paul off and keep him away from his daughter when he's probably at the lowest point of his life. And to divorce him (probably on the grounds of insanity :rolleyes) and turn right around and marry Dusty.. not cool Meg, not cool at all. With the way she's acting now, I'd say she deserves to be sucked into the vortex of ego and selfishness that is Dusty's obsession with Craig's son. I just want to know what happened to 'for better or WORSE' in this town. Nobody seems to be able to follow that except Brad and Katie. |

I can see how Meg marrying Dusty in the next month would be too soon after Paul being declared insane. Tptb are too quick in their developments with some issues and mental illness is a good example. Now if they treated Paul's condition with any dignity, Meg could be torn between him and Dusty while she cares for Paul and then over time realize she is getting closer to Dusty and feeling more and more distant from Paul who is delusional etc. Unfortunately the way the writers are, this will all happen in record time and will not give Paul's illness the attention it deserves which would make Meg seem more insensitive than she really is. Its a shame because I do think she belongs with Dusty. Sometimes I think the show should just fast forward a few months or a year with the writing like DH did so the storyline development could make more sense. And the way couples in Oakdale are so easy to divorce, the show may as well be set in L.A.. Oh, wait a minute then it would be Bold & the Beautiful!

I don't know that Meg will even claim to love Dusty. I think she will be doing it to help him get custody of Johnny and I'm not sure they will even pretend they love each other. I believe Paul becomes "sane" again rather soon so she can divorce him.
