Maura West & Van Hansis fan! Posts: 170 Group: Members Member #249 Joined: October 8, 2008	SID: Maddie lasts airs Monday, Jan. 5th. Lucy lasts airs Wednesday, Jan. 7th. Rumor has it that Lucy may return in the future, the reason both characters were only here for short stays is because they were recurring. Matt returns in February. Lawrence Lau aka Brian will be gone by the end of January.

Posts: 170 Group: Members Member #249 Joined: October 8, 2008	The show rep also confirmed the reason they brought back Maddie Coleman for a "very" short stint was for her to act as a catalyst in to bring the couple of Luke/Noah to the next stage and basically making Alison/Casey realize they have feelings for each other. I figured that Maddie was only brought on to bring the Noah/Luke/Brian story-line to it's head. Also, to move Alison and Casey closer to being a couple and having him close the chapter of his life involving Maddie. I had read spoilers indicating that Emily will be coming between Alison and Casey in one way or another, so I've always assumed it was a short stay. Wishing Lucy would stay longer. But she'll be back, I am hearing. At least that is what the mags are indicating! Also, regarding Brian, SID says that when Lucinda finds out that Brian is gay and has been coming onto her grandson Luke, she runs him out of town ASAP from what it sounds like, so he won't be around much longer, and gone by the end of January.

Member Posts: 236 Group: Members Member #68 Joined: September 4, 2008	Well, glad to see them all go. I do wish the REAL Lucy (Peyton List) would return. She had the most chemistry with Grayson, and the only relationship he's ever had (in my opinion) that seemed to have real feeling. Even the stuff with him and Jennifer, while great when she was on her deathbed, was initially rushed and forced. I never believed it. The same goes for all his others. Peyton's Lucy and Dusty's relationship, I believed.

Lucinda had gone looking for somebody to spearhead it, fundraising, etc, and Brian was her choice. As for Lucy... I didn't like Peyton List as Lucy, and I like this gal even less, mainly because of the story. IMO, they could bring her back at some point, but it had better be in a really, really good storyline and with an actress who would win fans over fast. All the leavings and comings make me real big!

I didn't like Peyton as Lucy either and thought Dusty's relationship with Jennifer was a much better story. I never believed the Dusty/Lucy relationship. Lucy has always been boring to me. I do think this is a better actress but the story is terrible. I agree if they bring her back it better be for a good reason.

I didn't like either Lucy, really, but I do think that the character could have had potential, since she has ties to 2 Oakdale families.

I'm most sad over Brian's...he was OK if he would have been true to Lucinda. I hate what they're doing to her I was never a Lucy fan so that's fine. Maddie, I loved AC in the role and to me she just can't be replaced at this time....I'm really not getting why they brought her back. I know they used her as a catalyst but still, there could have been a better way I would think....

I agree with whoever said they would have liked him if he'd been true to Lucinda - heaven knows she deserves some romance! I liked Peyton List as Lucy but not with Dusty - she improved as an actress by the time she was leaving but the character's return the past 2 times have been badly cast and horribly written. I've seen Spencer Grammar in "Greek" and think her acting is 100% better there (plus it's a well written show). Regardless of the actress playing Lucy, things seemed better when Lucy was in scenes with other teens. When she was in a room of adults, she was overpowered. I can't say that this nunuLucy has much going for her, especially since she only interacts with Ali and little Johnny. I did not see the scenes with Josey. I don't fault the actress for this... As for Maddie. Wow, the casting was HORRIBLE. And Maddie's character was literally thrown in, like scraps... I really liked AC's "Maddie" and thought the exit was well done. THIS Maddie seems like a totally different person to me. I'm glad she's leaving. TPTB don't seem to know what on earth to do with the show, though these exits are at least an improvement. I can't stand the mess they leave behind, though.

Advanced Member Posts: 3,059 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: August 31, 2008	Once again, ATWT is boneheaded for bringing back these characters for such a short time and having them recast for a handful of episodes. IMO, they could have EASILY played out both stories w/o either character. Alison and Casey already had the groundwork before Maddie returned and they could have brought Johnny back by having Dusty locate Lucy off screen. What a waste. I never cared for Brian either so I have no problem with him leaving, but they could have definitely played out the revelation for longer. There really was no emotional impact to this story and will lead Nuke into yet another boring slump. FREE LUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a rotten time to recast a bunch of semi-popular or unpopular ex-characters. I like nuJade but nuMaddie was just horrible. I would have preferred a more traditional holiday episode or episodes like I saw on the other soaps this year. ATWT has turned into a bunch of standalone type episodes with too much focus on a few characters. If you aren't interested in those character, the show is unwatchable on those days.
