Katie feels so strongly that Craig should know about Johnny being ill that she tells him. :2thumbs Craig says that the important thing is to get the transplant done right away, and that means doing it in Oakdale, not in Chicago. Craig goes straight upstairs and knocks on Lucy's door...Now we hear "hello, Lullabye, how's Johnny?" Craig hasn't lost his touch with kids, Johnny wasn't at all afraid of him, and in fact, seemed rather fascinated. :biggrin

Dusty walks up to Katie and asks her what she was talking to Craig about, and she admits that she told him the truth. :waiting Dusty gets into the elvator and Katie gets on the phone and tells Brad what she did, and that he should come to the Lakeview.

Quicker than you can say 'bone marrow', the transplant has been set up. Both Katie and Johnny are in hospital beds. Brad kisses Katie and she's wheeled off.... In Johnny's room, both Dusty and Craig say good-bye, and tell Johnny they know what a fighter he is. (Dusty actually told Johnny, "I was there when you were born. You came early. That's how I knew you were a fighter. :lol :lol )

Dusty and Brad sit down to wait together, and Brad admits that he doesn't have much use for Craig, even though they don't have much history. Dusty asks what Craig did, and Brad says, "he blackmailed Katie..." Dusty is not surprised. :waiting Dusty tries to get the details out of Brad, and tells Brad that he's got Brad and Katie's backs.... Against his better judgement, Brad takes Dusty into an exam room and tells Dusty about how Craig was behind the Spencer thing.... and says that Craig made Katie give him an alibi for when Paul was shot....

Dusty's getting a big kick out of this, because he sees that it can be nothing but a help to him in getting Craig out of Johnny's life... :hmm

Meanwhile, Craig's talking to Lucy, and telling her that he's a changed man, and he hopes she'll give him a chance to prove it... :hmm Lucy says that she still blames Craig for Bryant's death, and that's why she took Johnny away.

Craig says that he blames himself, too, and always will. He looks so sincere that Lucy says that she wants to give Craig a chance, but says that he's got to keep from fighting with Dusty over Johnny... Craig says he'll try, and then starts to get tearyeyed. He tells Lucy he's so glad she brought Johnny to Oakdale. Craig says that things can work out, if everybody puts Johnny first, and take things one step at a time... Lucy really wants Craig to be speaking from his :heart

Brian and Luke have another talk, another good talk, and agree to put "all this" behind them.... Lucinda's flitting around, and Lily and Jade come home from shopping. Lucinda makes a sarcastic remark about Jade taking advantage of Lily and the family. This enrages Jade, and she snarls at Lucinda, "At least I don't have a gay husband!" :eek :eek

Of course, there's an awkward silence, and then everybody starts talking at once... :shutup Jade tries to take back what she said, but Lucinda isn't having it... finally Jade goes upstairs and Lily takes Luke outside to talk, while Brian and Lucinda face off.... :cry

Outside, Luke admits to Lily exactly what happened between him and Brian, both times. Lily seems almost as upset that Luke was drinking as she is about Brian being gay. :lol

In the house, Lucinda stays calm as she asks Brian some direct questions about his sexuality. Brian says he's had these feelings all his life, and Lucinda asks him if he's bi-sexual, homosexual, or what.... Brian says he doesn't like to put labels on anybody, not even himself. He keeps telling Lucinda that he loves her, and never wanted to hurt her. Lucinda says, sadly, "but you did..." :cry

Lucinda asks Brian if he's still sexually attracted to Luke, and reluctantly, Brian says yes. But he and Luke are going to put that behind them, and Brian hopes that he and Lucinda can do the same thing... Lucinda says, "not on your life. get out!" :cry

The transplant is over and Brad's at Katie's bedside. She's relieved that it's over, and Brad goes to get her a lollipop or something.. :muchlove Dusty walks in and tells Katie thanks for donating to Johnny, and that she's great. Then he says he wants her to do something for him - go tell Margo that the alibi she gave Craig was false! :eek Katie's shocked and asked how Dusty knows about the blackmail, but Dusty won't say.... Dusty starts going into 'obsessed' mode and Katie tells him to get out.... :hmm

Luke's in the living room, feeling bad about how things have gone and Jade walks in and she's feeling as if nobody likes her... Luke feels the same way. Jade says well, at least we have each other, right? Luke doesn't look like he thinks it's right at all. :devil

Brian's packed a suitcase and is ready to leave, but wants to say something to Lucinda first. He tells her that he does love her, and that they still have so much in common, so much they could share... Lucy says, "You tried to bed my grandson..." :cry Brian leaves...

Lily walks in as Lucinda is brushing every trace of Brian, supposedly, off the bed... Lucinda says she should have known it was too good to be true, and that if Brian had had something going on with another woman, or if he'd had something with another man, in the past, she thinks they could have gotten past that, but..... not when it was "my boy...." :cry :heart

Johnny's still receiving the bone marrow, and Lucy, Dusty and Craig are together. Craig says he feels confident that things will go well, and he goes across the hall to thank Katie. As soon as he leaves, Dusty asks Lucy if she's made up with her dad, and she hisses that Craig thinks she has, but in reality, she wants Dusty, Johnny and herself to leave town as soon as Johnny's able - without Craig knowing.... :eek

Katie's been crying and tells Craig that Dusty knows about the blackmail. Craig says he'll fix everything, and walks out.

Brad come in with flowers for Katie, and tells him she knows he told Dusty about the blackmail. Brad says well, that didn't take long. :shutup Katie tells him to get away from her...

Craig stands outside the room where Dusty and Lucy are talking and hears enough to make him realize what they're planning. :eek He calls Margo and tells her that Lucy and Johnny are back in town, and he wants Margo to arrest Lucy for kidnapping! :2thumbs

A lot of good acting today, despite the :lame storyline. :biggrin I'm actually back on Craig's side of the Johnny thing.... :hmm :smack

I still hate Lucy. :cuss

Katie looked great with no makeup, so much better than if she was heavily made up. :clap

The stuff with Lucinda and Brian was :cry ...

Ask Roger, I have no idea, except that when you have boards like this, which are, I think, free, then there are various ads put on them, and they just seem to be put up randomly and then replaced, so I'd guess just random selection... :hmm

An excellent show today! This is why I continue to be so loyal to this show. I don't think you will find this great of acting (consistently) on any other soap. Sure, storylines aren't always great, but rarely do we get bad acting.

I'll never be on Craig's side in this. He is a murderer, a kidnapper, an attempted murderer, a blackmailer, liar...I could go on and on. I sure wouldn't want him raising a kid. And Katie sure has a big mouth!

Gosh, do I ever hate Dusty and Lucy.

I can't believe I'm siding with Craig on this one. JL is rather awesome as Craig, and actually my 2nd fave behind Hunt. I was never a Craig fan, but he's a certainly enjoyable character with the right actor.

Brycefan, I know what you mean about the acting on other soaps compared to on ATWT... our actors are simply outstanding! :clap I feel as if their talent is what's kept the show afloat through years of bad writing...

Yesterday, I thought the difference in levels of talent/experience shown by 'Lucy' when she was in scenes with either Dusty or Craig.... :smack And nuCraig won me over yesterday. Not won me over to where I think he's got that special spark that HB had, but to where I could feel for him and be in his corner, for awhile at least. :devil

Even the acting isn't saving ATWT lately. ATWT and DAYS are the worst soaps right now IMO. ATWT is usually a rushed mess with the show trying to wrap things up in a day.

The Jade reveal was LAME. Maybe I could see Jade blurting it out if theye were in some HEATED argument, but Lucinda said one thing to her and she blurted it out like that. It could have been a great, dramatic cliffhange - but that would mean ATWT couldn't wrap the whole thing up in one episode.

A daytime soap is supposed to make you want to tune in from one day to the next. Goutman and Passanante have decided fans don't want to watch everyday and we all love this single episode crap.

Some days no stories continue. Today, the Dusty/Craig garbage is going to continue. It wasn't interesting three Craigs ago. Why do they think the SAME story is going to be good in 2009 after all these Craigs? It isn't.

I had the feeling when we saw the image of Lucy leaving Oakdale with Johnny that tptb would return to this storyline. How unfortunate that the writing had to be so predictable. Johnny had to have an operation that required the use of stem cell from Emily's fetus so of course a few years later he needs bone marrow. Then they had to make sure all the players are in place eg. Craig, Dusty for Johnny and Lucy's dramatic return to Oakdale! :sleeping It would have been more interesting for Dusty to have found them in some exotic location and then have some adventure but that would have required new sets which they don't have budget for anymore. :smack Since they had to have this story set in Oakdale, then I wish they could have dealt with custody issues right away instead of this medical crap! :brickwall The only good thing about this kind of writing is that it allows tptb to include Johnny's entire family but the way its playing out is still stupid. :sad

I agree we have terrific actors, but days like yesterday made me really miss actors like Martha and Scott and hate that we have so many newbies. Actors that have been around and know their characters can add so much more depth to the story since the writers simply aren't putting it there.

I was very disappointed with the reveal of Brian. I also couldn't help but think how different it would have been with Martha who was able to display a stronger connection with both Luke and Lucinda. It seems totally wrong that Lily was so concerned that Luke was drinking and kind of just oh well about Brian. Martha and Liz as well as Martha and Van had a strong connection that I believe could have brought more than what was written on the pages. And where on earth was a discussion between Luke and Lucinda. When Luke said everyone hates me, I had to wonder why he felt that way because it sure wasn't shown on the screen. I have hated all along what this did to Lucinda and if there had been a better reveal it might have made up for some of that.

The same goes with Craig. I have less than zero sympathy for him and will never side with him. I find him very cold and flat now. Scott won me over the last time with his scenes regarding Bryant and if it were him playing this, I'd probably remember that and very possibly feel some sympathy for him as well as believing he actually did love Lucy and want another chance with Johnny. But the current incarnation of Craig leaves me cold and flat. I don't blame that on the actor but rather on the writing and because he doesn't know the history of Craig to try to instill some depth that isn't written. Heck it took Scott this last time 6 months to feel he got something he could work with.

Oddly I like this Lucy the best of any of them so far. The writing stinks as it does for Dusty as much as I love Grayson. I guess because Lucy seems smarter and isn't falling for Craig's crap makes me tolerate her better.

I agree with Roger that the show is a mess and that's why I skip a lot of shows now. You know it will be basically 2 stories on and if you don't like them, why watch? It's strictly actors that are making me watch at all but with so many newbies being featured so prominently, I don't feel the loyalty to as many of them. And by moving through stories so fast, too many beats are missed and yesterday was a perfect example with the reveal of Brian and the transplant that never could have taken place that fast in real life.

The show says they know they need to get the ratings up and for Christmas week they were once again solidly back in 7th place. Without a change in writing, no matter how good the actors are, I don't see it happening and it breaks my heart that the show is such a mess when it could so easily be fixed.
