Advanced Member Posts: 29,326 Group: Members Member #2 Joined: August 31, 2008	Paul shows up at Emma's with a bunch of gifts for Eliza and wants to take her on her first sleigh ride. Emma's flipping out big time, one of Emma's primo flips, and Meg is sticking up for Paul and ends up leaving the house with him. We didn't see any sleigh ride if it actually happened, but later they're at Fairwinds and Paul's all caught up in the moment and kisses Meg, which makes her say that "this was a mistake" and she leaves... Derek is supposed to meet with Bonnie and Jade at Memorial to get the results of the paternity test. However, he's gone early and gotten the results. They cause him to rush off to a park where he's sitting when Casey comes skateboarding past and stops to talk. Casey knows Derek should be at the hospital, and Derek says he already went and learned that he IS Jade's father, and that he can't deal with it. Bonnie and Jade are wondering where Derek is when Alison shows up and says that the doctor wanted her to go over the paternity results with them. A nursing student is gonna do this?????? So now Jade and Bonnie learn the results and Jade is acting all tough, but you can see she's hurting. Bonnie leaves to find Derek and Ali and Jade have a heart to heart in the stairwell. Ali talks about her own experiences with a dad who doesn't want to know his own daughter, and gets emotional. Later, she talks to Casey about it....she tells him how she went to Chicago to talk to her dad and how he blew her off. Later she calms down and is amazed that she trusts Casey enough to tell him things like that. Emily walks up to Casey and Ali in Java and interrupts a tender moment. She asks to talk to Ali alone, so Casey leaves.... Emily tells Ali that they need to get something straight. Em says she's having a rough time and that it's not helping to see Ali taking another man from Emily.... Ali thinks Em is nuts, (and of course she's right ) but Emily starts talking about how Ali tllk Dusty away from her and how now she's messing with Casey. She tells Ali to stay away from Casey. Bonnie finds Derek and tells him that he can be really important to Jade now, even if it's only to tell her things about Rose.... He agrees to come to Metro with Bonnie. Bonnie calls Jade and asks her to come to Metro, without saying that Derek is there. When Jade shows up, Derek apologizes for running off. Jade acts like she doesn't care to pursue their relationship, but Bonnie keeps playing peacemaker and the conversation keeps going, but it sure isn't a happy one. Finally, very frustrated, Derek shoves some money into Jade's hand, asking, "Isn't this what dads do, give money to their kids?" Naturally, this infuriates Jade. Emily offers to marry Dusty to help him get custody of Johnny, but Johnny reminds her that because of her stint as a call girl, that would probably do more harm than good. So of course now it's poor me time for Emily... :sleep Paul rushes over to the farm to talk to Meg more, but she's not there. Emma is exasperated and asks Paul why he doesn't just let Meg go, if he supposedly loves her so much.... Paul says that he knows that Meg still wants him and that he's going to get his family back. Meg's gone to The Lakeview to talk to Barbara and see if Babs can help out with Paul. Barbara isn't around but Dusty is, and Meg tells him about Paul being so sweet with Eliza and then kissing Meg. Dusty wonders why Meg even puts up with Paul at all. Then, he says he's got an idea that would keep Paul away from Meg, and also help Dusty out, and Dusty asks Meg if she'll marry him. Well, the big deal for me today was the fact that ALI was the one giving Jade the results of the paternity test. Edited by loves2turn, Jan 22 2009, 05:31 PM.

LOL, actually, it was Ali, but ITA. That was a stupid plot device. I was also LOL at Emma. Just last week Paul was at the farm when Meg came home one day and he said that Emma had said he could stay. She certainly had a change of heart. I can understand why Emma didn't want Paul there, but I thought she was a bit over the top.

I liked Ali's talk with Jade but ITA that no way in heck should she have been the one to discuss the test results with Jade and Bonnie first. Typical Oakdale World Crap. Dusty Meg It's a sad day when Emma drives me nuts Paul is just ridiculous. I just don't understand why the show wants to have him be so clownish, I really don't.

Sheeesh!!!

Sheeesh!!! Boy, how do those writers come up with these plot twists, eh? I was cracking up the other day while catching up on episodes I missed while I was gone, and in one, Paul said he felt like "jumping off a cliff"....

Member Posts: 228 Group: Members Member #465 Joined: December 8, 2008	How sad that after all this time with no Emily on screen and all tptb can think of is having her obsess over her exes! Its all about poor Emily and how she needs to get a life! At least she has a job running the Intruder but why show her working on a news story, noooo better to show how pathetic she is clinging to men who have obviously moved on! Emily may be nuts (and who on this show isn't?) but she can also be a strong, indepdendent professional who we can root for. But when she's this pathetic why should we care about her? Of course on the show everyone has to be either part of a couple or part of breaking one up! Anyway the cast isn't big enough for all the ramaining singles to date each other without getting back together with an ex! I can't believe it but my favorite couple now is Brad and Katie because their conflict seems the most real and least contrived. All they had to do to resolve their conflict was agree to disagree on Craig and not bring him up (untill Craig strikes again, of course). Meanwhile there's Jack and Janet who disagree over how to deal with Parker and Liberty who are pretty tame when it comes to teenage romance, not much to worry about there. Then there's Ali and Casey who are great together but keep missing signals like Ali's jealousy over Jade. Dusty runs hot and cold with Josie probably because he can't decide if she's friend or foe and then he wants to be with Meg to drive away Paul and help with custody! Craig meanwhile chooses Carly like some caveman grabbing a mate with the same motive to help custody. Paul could be the poster child for insane Oakdalians but they seem to have him suddenly cured and like Emily, not able to move on clinging to his ex! The only reason why Lilden and Henrienna don't seem so stupid is because they have no story!
