Dusty comes out to the farm and tells Meg that he's got it lined up to meet with a realtor. He says he wants Meg to decide on where they live, as long as there's room for the kids, he's fine with anything. :biggrin Meg wonders how Paul will find out that they got married...

Just then Paul calls, wanting to see Eliza. Meg says she's busy but she'll figure something out and call him. Dusty tells her that she doesn't have to see Paul, he'll take Eliza over to Fairwinds, so Meg goes off to see the realtor and Dusty and Eliza go to surprise Paul... :shutup

Naturally Paul is shocked to see Dusty and Eliza there, and asks where Meg is. Dusty says that Meg never wants to see Paul again, and that Paul can't be with Eliza alone. Paul calls Meg, but she won't answer the phone. Paul asks Dusty what gives him the right to give him orders about Eliza and Meg and Dusty breaks the news that he and Meg are married! :eek Paul's speechless and unbelieving, but Dusty makes a believer out of him. :shutup

Paul gets Dusty to let him hold Eliza, but then tells Dusty to get out, and that Eliza's staying at Fairwinds. :smack

:josey
Meanwhile, Meg's leaving her meeting at The Lakeview with the realtor and runs into Josey, who hears the realtor call Meg "Mrs Donovan"! :eek Josey stops Meg and Meg tells Josey about marrying Dusty in Reno. She says it's just to help Dusty in the custody case. Josey tells Meg to open her eyes, Dusty's as obsessesed with her as Paul is, and how's that going to help Dusty? :hmm THEN, Josey learns that Dusty's over at Fairwinds telling Paul that he and Meg are married. A disgusted Josey tells Meg, "You're even more of a coward than I thought you were!" and rushes out....

Casey comes to Memorial and wants Ali to hang out with him that night, but Ali is obviously uncomfortable and keeps saying she can't do it. Finally it comes out that Emily told Ali not to see CAsey! :cuss An angry Casey heads for The Intruder.

Jade's been telling Luke that she feels like a sponger, not having a job and all, so they start looking online for something, and turns out that Emily needs an assistant - AGAIN! :smack So, even though Luke tries to talk Jade out of it, and even though Jade really has NO experience, she sets up an appointment for an interview.

When Jade gets to The Intruder, Emily's her usual snarly self, and even though Jade does manage to take a phone call for Em, the two women end up growling at each other and Jade isn't hired. She's storming out the door just as Casey comes rushing into Em's office. So, naturally, Jade stands outside the door and eavesdrops. :shutup

Casey really rips into Emily about how she's trying to run his life by not letting Ali hang out with him, of course Emily denies it. Frustrated, Casey leaves, and sees Jade hanging around. The two of them talk a tiny bit, and of course Emily hears and after Casey's gone, Emily grabs Jade and asks her what her relationship is with Casey. Jade says they're friends and Casey saved her life... Emily tells Jade, "You're hired, to go out with Casey!" :eek :eek :eek

Jade can't believe her ears and says that she's not a prostitute, and that Emily's pimping her out. :shutup Emily's persuasive and tells Jade she'll pay her good money to "babysit" Casey. :eek The wheels in Jade's brain start spinning, and she slyly tells Emily that she'll "think about it and get back to you.." :shutup

Luke comes to Memorial and tells Ali that Jade's applying for a job as Emily's assistant and Ali asks if Jade's insane. :lol :lol Luke can tell that Ali's upset about something, so Ali starts telling him about how things are between her and Casey, and why. Luke tells her that she and Casey need to be locked up on the roof like they did to Luke and Noah. :lol :lol :lol So pretty soon Luke and Ali ARE up on the roof and Luke says he'll be back soon, with Casey! :hmm

:josey
Josey arrives at Fairwinds and gets Paul to give Eliza back to Dusty. Josey tells Dusty she knows he's married to Meg, and Dusty actually seems kind of embarrassed that he wasn't the one to tell her... Dusty takes Eliza out to the farm and Meg asks him how things went. Dusty says that Paul's been worse... :lol

Josey and Paul sit slumped on the couch commiserating... :hug Then Josey says, "What a couple of losers we are!" :lol and Paul gets irate and tells her that she doesn't know him at all if that's what she thinks about him.... She asks him what he's going to do, and he says that when he gets through with Dusty, Dusty won't know what hit him!

Jade gets a call from Luke, asking about her interview. She says she didn't get the assistant's job, but might accept a position as a "special projects person". Luke asks if she knows where Casey is, and she says yes, she can see him sitting in Java. Luke asks her to go tell Casey to go up to the roof at Memorial. She asks why, and he tells her about his plan to get Ali and CAsey together. :smack Jade gets a gleam in her eye and when Casey goes to get her a coffee, she quickly calls Emily and tells her she'll take the job. :rolleyes

I am SO glad Josie gave it to Meg today. Finally. Although I think she deserves a lot more of it. I was watching her today thinking, why are we all supposed to believe that Meg is all about honesty and integrity and all things good - just because she tells us so??? What she's doing right now is completely dishonest, what she did with Paul with Jennifer's baby was dishonest, what she continued to do marrying Craig during that whole Paul plan was dishonest. She just appears to be all good and wonderful things, when she's been just as bad as everybody else. So I'm glad Josie called her a coward today because she is a coward - she's a coward for not facing Paul, she's a coward for marrying Dusty, she's a coward for not looking into herself and seeing that maybe she's not all peaches and cream and dealing with that.
There, I feel much better now.

Thanks to the snowday, I got to see the show live and thought much of it was actually pretty decent.

The stuff I liked:

- Josey :woot I absolutely love her right now and think the actress is doing a great job. She works well with the other actors she's been mixed with, IMO. The look on Meg's face after Josey called her out was priceless - and I think the actress who plays Meg (I spaced on her name - Marie?) has been doing a better job of using her facial expressions effectively

- Ali and Casey - yes, it's a bit frustrating to see them dancing around stuff but I like that things came out in the open today without dragging it out for a week (which is what I had expected :wacko ). I like the actors together and thought the dialogue was well done. I especially enjoyed that they touched on the Hughes-Stewart history :2thumbs

- Dusty and Paul - I actually was somewhat entertained by the two of them today and thought they both toned down things down. Maybe because they took turns holding a real baby and not some sack in a blanket?

- Ali and Luke - the friendship seems very natural and it's good to see. Luke was a prop today, of course, but I didn't mind it as much as usual

- Luke and Jade - although I still don't feel the warm fuzzies for the actress playing Jade, I like the scene with the 2 cousins today

The stuff I did not like:

- Emily - :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke There just aren't enough to get my point across on how I feel about her

- BUT she almost takes a backseat to the :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke :cuss :puke that I feel for Jade! WTH????

I realize that Ali & Casey's path, whatever it may be, can't be an easy one - but Emily? Jade? :cuss I'd rather see Kim and Susan weigh in on it, though I realize that Kim is a bit far removed from Casey but still...

I missed the previews so if anyone can fill me in on that, I'd appreciate it. :hmm

I can't take anymore of this Dusty/Meg/Paul crap. What a boring waste of time.

I can't stand Josie. I just won't forgive what she did to Dusty and Barbara no matter how sorry she is.

The Casey/Jade things seems so telegraphed. She'll start to fall for him, maybe he'll fall for her, then the truth will come out and blow up in her face.

ITA. Meg reminds me a lot of Jack. They both have this self-righteous "I love you but I can't live with you." complex. Even though they've both done bad things in their lives they seem to hold Carly and Paul up to this impossible standard because they think they are so morally superior.

I was glad to see Josie blast Meg. She's obviously doing this as much for herself as she is to help Dusty. It's a raw deal all the way around and she deserves to be called on it.

I cannot stand DUSTY MEG and PAUL either. PAUL finally has an STENBECKIAN HEIR and he does not even get to enjoy it? PAUL is a dweeb...but still.

It has been difficult for me to accept JOSIE, too. I still think she is going to end up with a really bad purpose on the show.

JADE is definitely going to need therapy after this storyline. I do like this version of JADE more and I think it is an age thing.

The previews showed a court scene where Paul is annnouncing in front of Dusty and Meg that Meg is his wife. :huh I guess Paul is gonna contest the Reno divorce. Not surprised Paul would take a stand. There was also I think Craig asking Carly to say he is a better father than Dusty. Now, it looks like Dusty could be involved with two different custody battles regarding both Johnny and Eliza. The stage is set for an interesting debate about what makes the ideal parent, biology or just stable home life. Unfortunately in this case , the biological fathers are either criminal, insane or BOTH! :devil And the non-biological parents have hidden agendas. :rolleyes Between Paul and CRaig I think Paul would have a better chance for reform if he were to go into therapy but I'm sure he would say like Emily said about herself, "Been there, done that". "As if therapy and psychoanalysis is a load of crap! :cuss Tptb get it right when they attempt to get to the source of problems and what makes characters tick. But most of the time the stories become about who is with whom or who is coming between in some sort of triangle like Dusty/Meg/Paul/Josey, Emily/Casey/Ali/Jade, Carly/Craig/Jack. Carly's failed wedding had effective discussion but then Wednesday's was more about scheming unromantic, non love triangles. :sleeping I think tptb should leave the scheming to the James STenbeck types of which none currently exist and with James six feet under that leaves the likes of Emily, Craig and Dusty? :lame

Thanks, Rich, for the scoop on the previews :2thumbs

You're right - the show hasn't handled mental illness or instability well in regards to therapy and resolution. It's a shame, too, because it could easily be done well.

The idea of a 'marriage of convenience' in our society is so outdated that I am just scratching my head that the writers think not one but TWO of these things would be worth trying. Yet more proof that the writers have no clue what they are doing or what viewers want to watch. Then again, Jack's marriages have been one sham after another with alarming repetitiveness.... because that's SOOO what fans want to see :gaah

I don't know who should get custody of Johnny - both fathers have re-acted more than acted like solid, loving parents. He'd be better off under the temporary custody of a guardian - a relative for the time being, such as Margo & Tom or (GASP!) even Katie & Brad. Barbara could be a candidate but that would mean TPTB have to show her on screen for more than 10 seconds outside of Paul's presence. :smack

As for Eliza, I would think that Meg would get sole custody with supervised visits for Paul.
