Today, Dusty asks Meg to cut up a couple of fake passports for himself and Johnny, and Meg does that. Dusty also gives her his car keys and promises he won't kill Craig today... Johnny's riding with Emma when Craig shows up early to get Johnny. Dusty swallows his pride and asks Craig if he could have some extra time with Johnny, to ease him into the change. Craig says sure.... you can have 5 minutes extra! So then Dusty says good-bye to Johnny, trying to make it as easy as possible, and Craig picks up Johnny and they start to leave. Dusty tells Craig that he thinks Johnny should have his stuff, and Craig tells him to pack it up and he'll send somebody for it... ![]() Meg puts Dusty to work putting together a crib for Eliza, and then Dusty gets his car keys back and leaves, not knowing that Meg's practically right behind him... ![]() Jack's in the diner, sleep deprived from a noisy farm house the night before when a call comes in from their realtor. It seems that somebody has outbid them on their perfect house. Jack doesn't up the bid, as he can't afford it, and Janet is crushed. So, this causes them to stop looking for a place... Parker and Liberty are having some sort of boyfriend/girlfriend episode and at the center is a pair of Metallica tickets for a concert in Chicago. A girl at school knows somebody and would sell them to Parker for $200... Anyway, Parker ends up telling Liberty that if she wants to go, she can get her own tickets... Now both Parker and Liberty are at the diner, asking Jack and Janet for money for Metallica tickets. But they get told that their parents they can't afford them. So, although the kids are disappointed, they take it okay and leave.... Next in the diner are Craig and Johnny. Johnny's missing Dusty and won't eat his burger and fries. Janet's right there giving Craig suggestions as to what to do to make Johnny feel better. All Johnny wants to do is go home, and he doesn't mean to Craig's. Finally, though, Johnny says he wants to make brownies. So Craig has an idea.... And he and Johnny show up at Carly's door with a bag of brownie mix. ![]() Carly's in her robe, getting ready to shower and go to Metro, but she can't say no to Johnny. So Craig and Johnny go into the kitchen and get busy. Now Jack arrives. He's there to tell Carly that he won't need the second mortgage right away, since he and Janet got outbid on the house... Of course he sees a man's overcoat on the couch, and notices that Carly's in her robe, and jumps to conclusions. Then Craig comes out of the kitchen and Jack goes even further in the wrong direction, until Johnny yells for "Daddy" and the dawns on Jack that he might be mistaken... ![]() Carly explains what's going on and Jack once again apologizes. Carly says she wants more, she wants for it not to happen again with Jack, so Jack says it won't, but he still tells Carly that she should stay away from Craig, nothing good can come of it. ![]() Parker gets home and tells Carly that Jack has got money worries, and it ends up that Craig follows Parker into the living room and gives him money to buy extra toys for Johnny, and then gives him extra $$ to buy something for himself... Parker perks up and says he guesses he'll buy those Metallica tickets he wants.... Craig asks him if he needs more $$ .. ![]() The brownies turn out well, and Johnny eats most of them himself... As Carly's explaining to Craig that she shouldn't let Johnny eat so many at a time, Johnny groans that he's not feeling so good. So he gets put down for a nap, and Craig is really feeling inadaquate as a father... he starts trying to smooth talk Carly into helping him out in the parenting department, but she says that "daddy's little helper isn't going to be me...." ![]() By now, Parker's told Liberty about Craig giving him money for tickets, and she's stoked. They go into the diner and I think are going to tell Jack and Janet that they're going to the concert, but Jack and Janet are right in the middle of an argument about Carly and where she fits into Jack's life now, and Jack's angst at not having enough $$ to buy a house and tickets for the kids.... so the kids leave... Meg's followed Dusty to the cemetery. He's kneeling at Jennifer's grave, talking to her, saying he did the best he could to keep Johnny from Craig, but he failed, and he angrily and sadly asks Jennifer where she was and why she didn't help him. ![]() Meg talks with Dusty and takes him to the place where they first met when he came back to town. They talk about how she had a "good breast stroke" and find a couple cans of beer that I guess she hid in a hollowed out tree stump. So they open them and drink.... Dusty says he'd like to kill Craig, but that he can't. He's changed. Jennifer and Johnny changed him and he couldn't look Johnny in the eye if he killed Craig. But he wishes he hadn't changed... Meg tells him that Jennifer is always with him, in Johnny, but Dusty says that Craig will kill that part of Johnny. Meg says that Dusty had a life before Jennifer and Johnny and he'll have one again. But Dusty says that he was at his best when he was with Jennifer. ![]() Eventually they leave for their respective homes. Dusty's holding Johnny's lion when Meg shows up with Eliza. She says that Lily dropped her off, and she's been fussy.... She goes to the bathroom and Eliza's fussing, so Dusty picks her up and gently cradles her, saying, "I've got you..." ![]() I really found it disgusting today to listen to Jack whining to Janet about how Craig has more money than he does.... and I was disgusted earlier when Janet was pushing for Jack to borrow more money so she could have her dream house... |

I've really enjoyed the show all week. Friday's was great, I thought, with Dusty finally breaking down. And I loved how Jack was checking Carly out when she answered the door in her robe. Janet is so right about how he can't let Carly go. Why Janet would marry someone who is obviously still in love with another is beyond me. What I think would really be great is if Janet and Craig had a thing. Boy, that would get Jack! If Jack and Carly are ever going to get back together, it has to be something that is not Carly's fault, or something that won't make Jack feel guilty. Janet having an affair would certainly do that. And Craig being the one would be unforgivable to Jack. |

I've never thought of Janet as being the brightest crayon in the box for some reason.

Great idea, I would sooooo love to see that. I'm getting excited about this, maybe the writers will think about it (we can only hope.....) but maybe, just maybe. I'll cross my fingers. |

I wonder now from what we saw on Friday's show if Dusty is in fact going to marry Meg for real to protect her and Eliza from Paul. It seems like he could find solace in losing Johnny by being a loving dad to Eliza. But we know Paul will fight this even if they really ARE married. Dusty is much better character when he's not fighting Craig or Paul. The way Meg reminded Dusty of how they used to be when he came back to town reminded me of how good they could be for each other even if they are not in love. I understand why Jack and Janet would have money troubles because of the current economy but I think the dream house that they could not afford must have been much larger and fancier than Carly's. They should still be able to find a decent place that is affordable. Janet seems to be reaching for the moon, like she did in planning her wedding. If Janet is so materialistic she SHOULD end up with Craig who has cash to burn and then Jack could reunite with Carly and move back to his OLD house! Problem solved.

And Craig would certainly love to stick it to Jack. Throwing his money around to Janet may just be the way. I hope Craig (and the writers) think of this! CarJack here we come! |
