Carly tells Henry that she and Craig aren't business partners anymore. Henry's sorry to hear that, and wonders if there's any chance things will smooth over, but Carly says absolutely not. :waiting

Meanwhile, Craig's telling Lily that Carly lied to her, and that the idea for Midnight Sun was his idea, Carly just drew up a design for the label... :eek Lily's not happy, and goes to Metro to talk to Carly. Carly admits that she lied, but says there was a reason - she didn't want this business opportunity slip away, AND... Craig kissed her! :eek Lily says it's not like Carly to get so upset over a kiss that doesn't mean anything...or does it? Carly says of course not, and Ewwwww! :shutup

Over at Metro, Craig and Henry meet up and Craig tells Henry that he's meeting with Carly's possible replacement. Just then in walks a gorgeous redhead! Craig and the redhead sit down, and Henry calls Carly and says that he just met her replacement! So Carly calls Mr Seigler, only to be told that he's on his way to Oakdale to meet with Craig. Lily's despondent, but Lily tells her that if anybody can outCraig Craig, it's Carly... Henry shows up, and also tells Carly she's got to do something. Carly comes up with a plan... :devil

Today is Paul's sentencing. Barbara's beside herself, trying to get him to change his mind about pleading guilty, but doesn't have any luck. :cry

Dusty goes out to the farm and tells Meg that Paul's being sentenced today. He thinks that Meg should be there and speak out against Paul, to make sure he gets locked up. After all, doesn't she owe it to Eliza to do everything she can to keep her safe? :rolleyes So Meg and Dusty head over to the courthouse.

Josey's at the courthouse for some reason and sees Barbara, who tells her that it's Paul 's sentencing. Sofie says she's staying, and speaking up for Paul. :2thumbs

Paul arrives, with his police escort, and is angry with Barbara for calling Josey, although Barbara denies it. They all go inside and Paul throws himself at the mercy of the judge. The judge gives people a chance to speak, but nobody does, not even Meg or Dusty. Josey stands up and tells the Judge that Paul had a breakdown a short while ago, and the only thing that kept him going was loving his daughter. Josey speaks eloquently, all the while, Dusty is muttering responses to what Josey's saying.... Without blinking an eye, the judge says he's not sending Paul to jail, and furthermore, he's giving Paul supervised visits.... :eek

Meg stomps out of the courtroom with Dusty trailing behind. She's pitching a fit, Meg fashion, aka whining. :shutup Dusty's muttering and growling.... Paul tells Meg that he did everything she asked, and still the Judge didn't send him to jail. Meg just can't stand it that Paul's getting visitation, and just keeps on whining and whining... :rolleyes She and Dusty go back to the farm, and she then starts in on Dusty and tells him to leave. :waiting As Dusty opens the door, Josey's standing there, and Dusty says she's got a lot of nerve. :hmm Josey tries to explain why she spoke up for Paul, but of course Dusty doesn't want to hear it and shuts the door in Josey's face. He turns back into the kitchen, and Meg's standing there. She's heard everything. Dusty says he promised to protect her and that's what he'll do, but Meg says that isn't what she wants, so please leave. :hmm

Back at the courthouse, Barbara's happy that Paul has a second chance, but Paul seems to be downright sorry that he isn't being locked up. :smack Paul storms off to Fairwinds with Barbara right behind him. She's trying to be helpful, but Paul says he doesn't want her there, and she always makes things worse! :waiting

Just then Josey walks in and Barbara tells her to talk to Paul, she's not getting anywhere! Barbara leaves and Paul asks Josey why she did what she did in court. :hmm

Now we learn what Carly's plan is. :biggrin Craig gets a phone call, supposedly from Johnny's nanny, but it's really Lily. She asks Craig to pop in to see Johnny, because he's kind of fussy. Craig gets up immediately, telling the redhead he'll be right back. As soon as he's out of sight, Henry, dressed in a fur cap and tweed overcoat, glasses, and speaking with an accent, German? walks up to the redhead and says he's Mr Seigler and he needs to take her to a farm, where they grow potatoes. :lol :lol First, Henry says something in German, but when it turns out that "red" is fluent in that language, he switches back to English, saying it makes him feel like a patriot. :shutup

Carly's waiting at the bar at the Lakeview and intercepts Mr Seigler. She acts like Craig is really being disrespectful, not showing up on time.... and takes Mr Seigler to Metro. There, she tries to convince Mr Seigler to go into business with her, and cut out Craig... Mr Seigler is agreeable, but asks Carly if she can come up with the money. Carly looks downcast, until Lily says she'll finance the business plan. Mr Seigler is glad to be working with two strong, independent women. :biggrin

Of course, by now Craig's figured out that Carly's at work, and gets to Metro fast. There, he tries to ingratiate himself with Mr Seigler, but Mr Seigler says that there's only one way Craig can continue to be a part of this designer vodka, and that's to learn to get along with Carly and Lily. :lol :lol :lol Carly and Lily have big grins on their faces. Mr Seigler leaves, and Carly and Craig set up a stragegy meeting, Carly sets the time and place, and Craig walks out, saying, "See ya, boss!" :shutup :clap

Well, I was really glad to see Lily and Carly together as business partners, and outsmarting Craig, although I'm confused as exactly what part Craig is going to have in the designer vodka plan... Or is Lily just going to be a backup financial partner in case Carly needs her? :hmm

The court stuff was just so strange. First of all, that Paul was even there, but second at the way the judge just made an immediate decision in Paul's favor after listening to Josey. :lol

I hate that Paul is so nasty to BAbs. :cry I mean, she's not always been the best mom, :shutup but still, she's better now...

I'm so glad your recap is up, I've been waiting for it to vent. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I absolutely can't stand Dusty anymore. He has got to get a life - his own, not someone elses. Again, his Josie treatment was despicable, slamming the door in her face like that. And this ridiculous knight in shining armour role has got to stop. Which brings me to Miss Meg. Honestly, how ridiculous is she. She's letting Dusty dictate everything she does and, as Barabara pointed out at the courthouse, she lets him speak for her as well. She didn't want to go to court and speak against Paul because down inside, she doesn't want the father of her baby in prison. Why can't she just say that to Dusty??? Then, she goes because he pretty much makes her, says nothing, and then gets all upset that Paul wasn't put in prison, even though she didn't make any impact statement to make sure that he would go to prison. By the end of the show, it looks as though she's going to stop being glued to the hip with Dusty, but still, I always find her so righteous in her words but not in her deeds. I guess she's just the product of a Snyder household.
There, I feel much better now....!!

I really liked Carly, Lily and even Henry today - sure, it was a fairly implausible storyline and campy as well but it was still better than half the swill we've been watching lately :devil What I especially liked was Carly pulling Lily aside and discussing her concerns, and reminding Lily of hers, about being business partners. :2thumbs At least Lily can't say that Carly didn't warn her! And I thought the Craig-Carly banter at the end was well done, too. Both actors played it well.

But the way the show has been, I was constantly expecting Holden to burst through some door and start yelling :wacko

I think Henry was trying to be Russian... :wink Badly, of course. I liked the comment about potatoes and vodka.

The utter CRAP that was Paul's sentencing today was just toooooooooooooooo much :cuss :cuss :cuss

1) Dusty should have been kicked out of the room by the judge for muttering and interrupting Josey's statement
2) After hearing the words "nervous breakdown" and "recently," why didn't the judge order a stay and a psychiatric evaluation? :huh Oh right, we're in Dumb & Dumber Land

Josey was on target when she talked to Dusty at the farm - it's a shame he's so freakin' clueless. He needs a bit of therapy, too. And Meg annoyed the snot out of me today. She KNOWS that Paul's more mentally unstable than criminal but all she wants is to have him in prison. :brickwall :smack

Poor Babs :cry Paul was ridiculously and unnecessarily cruel to her today. And his reaction to her shows that he cares less about being a good father to Eliza than trying to win Meg back :gaah

Paul needs some serious help and unless the show is going to go down that path, I wish the actor a lot of luck in pursuing another soap or other acting jobs when his contract is up, whenever that may be. Portraying Paul Ryan is a long road to nowhere and has to be discouraging for a veteran actor. :wacko

Previews look eh to me except for Brad and Henry - I do like the 2 of them.

I agree, Ali, about Dusty & Meg. They are both ridiculous. This recent thing of Dusty just barking out orders or complaints in two-word phrases every couple minutes makes him look like a goon. If he weren't so damn annoying, I'd be laughing at all of his monotone muttering. And Meg, gawd, nothing she does makes sense. "I don't care about Paul so I'll go to the sentencing, I want him in prison so I'll stand there like a statue at his sentencing, after I said nothing at the sentencing I'll still whine like a baby because Paul, who I don't care about, didn't get put away and still gets to see my baby... but I still might want my baby to know her father.. who I don't care about" :gaah

I didn't like the way Paul talked to Barbara either. But I understood where it came from. He was trying to do what he thought was the right thing and again he gets slapped down. He was angry and he lashed out at the first available person. Doesn't excuse it but it's understandable. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't and I'd be pretty self-pitying and pissed off too if I were in that situation.

Paul needs to just give up on Meg because he's never going to be able to please her and that makes him too self-destructive.

I was so happy that PAUL was let go....but then did not really appreciate how he was not thankful for the light sentencing.

For me...today was one of the FIRST DAYS I have enjoyed JOSIE.

Yeah...DUSTY should have been thrown out of the court.

BUT all of this questionable legal crap....not that I like to be associated with scandal...corruption and just plain stupidity when it comes to state courts....but I DO live in the same state as OAKDALE and it SADLY MAKES SENSE.

The MIDNIGHT SUN BUSINESS was superb!!

Ali, I absolutely hear you about Dusty! :24 The guy is so hot, and yet he's written to be such a caveman... he does definitely need his own life. Doesn't he have business concerns? :huh And the way he treats women is just awful. As for Meg sounding like she's gonna break free of him, well, I'll believe that when I see it, and have seen it for more than an hour. :shutup

As much as I enjoyed Lily and Carly joining business forces today, I'd much rather have had Dusty float into Metro and tell Craig that HE was Carly's new business partner :woot

Sadly, Dusty might just as well spend his time beating rocks against each other in some cave somewhere... :gaah :smack

She KNOWS that Paul's more mentally unstable than criminal but all she wants is to have him in prison. :brickwall :smack

At this point I'm thinking the writers need psychiatric evaluations. :lol If the characters are all going to act dumb and dumber there needs to be at least one voice of reason who puts order to things. The judge could have been such a person but alas he's just as clueless as the rest of Oakdale! :pullhair

With Meg so conflicted about Paul I would rather see her use a marraige counselor or psychologist as a sounding board rather than Dusty. Such an advisor could help Meg make the right decision. But like so many characters she's going in circles, circling down the drain........... :sleeping
