While Jade's busy telling Lily about how she's planning to take Casey to a special restaurant in Chicago, to celebrate his freedom, Casey's up on the roof telling Alison he thinks they should do a "do over" and go back to being friends, the way they were before Matt came back and messed everything up for them. Ali tells Casey that he's got to make sure that Jade realizes that he's not interested in a relationship with her, and then maybe that "do over" will happen.Noah and Luke are in Java when Kevin comes in. Kevin's super jumpy and his responses to what Luke and Noah tell him about Matt and the investigation, make Noah suspect that Kevin might not be innocent in all this... Luke doesn't want to believe this, but Noah talks a good story... ![]() Later we see Kevin leaving a message for Mark - "Hey, Mark, you're in the clear, nobody's looking for you, they're looking for Matt." Casey's at Lily's and breaks the news to Jade. He wants them to be friends, but Jade says it's not gonna happen and tells him to leave. Later, Jade tells Lily that she knows Ali is gonna dump Casey and when that happens, Jade will be there waiting... ![]() A police officer takes Margo to Matt's car. He shows her that it's been broken into and hotwired. Why would Matt do this to his own car? Margo says that maybe Matt's not guilty, and she really needs to talk to him. There might still be a killer out there that they don't know about ... ![]() Margo finds Ali at Memorial and tells her that Matt might be innocent and that she wants Ali to call Matt and set up a meeting. Once that's set up, Margo will be there. Ali doesn't want to betray Matt, but Margo swears that it isn't a set up, and Matt won't be arrested if he's innocent, and just ran because he was panicked... So Ali goes ahead and leaves a message for Matt about meeting her at a certain warehouse. He just needs to call and set up a time... Casey calls Margo, asking if she knows where Ali is, and Margo doesn't, but tells him how she had Ali leave a msg for Matt. Casey's furious that Margo's using Ali "for bait" and hangs up on her and starts running around town looking for Ali.... Luke and Noah track down Kevin at Al's, right after he hangs up from leaving a message for Mark. They confront him and Kevin admits, after Noah grabs his phone, that Mark's the murderer. Kevin says he just found out... ![]() Mark, meanwhile, is at Memorial. He's obviously but tells Ali that she's got to come with him, or Casey 's dead. So Ali reluctantly goes with him, and they end up at the same warehouse that Ali was telling Matt about. Apparently, Mark was listening in on that convo. Mark is getting more and more wound up. He tells Ali that he's the one who provided drugs to Reg, but Reg must have been allergic ot something. And died. Elwood knew Mark was the supplier and was going to tell, so Elwood had to be taken care of. ![]() Ali keeps trying to calm Mark down, but it's not working, and Mark decides he wants Ali to do a little dance for him, like she did that night in the dorm room. She refuses but Mark pulls out a syringe and tells her that "this will loosen you up..." She's struggling with him when her cell rings, and Mark lets her answer. It's Casey, but Ali acts like it's Matt, and actually tells Casey where she is, acting like she's talking to Matt, and tells him to hurry. Casey, though, isn't picking up what she's putting down. ![]() Mark gives Ali a couple of the syringes of drugs and she's starting to pass out. He says that his plan is that she'll be found OD'd and Matt will be there, because of her message, and Matt will be blamed for Ali's OD and everything else. Just then, Matt comes running in and Mark runs off. Matt is picking Ali up to take her to the hospital, and he puts the empty syringes in his pocket, so he can tell the docs what Ali's got in her. Then Casey comes running, starts pounding Matt, and knocks him halfway out, grabs Ali and rushes off with her... ![]() After Kevin's told Noah and Luke everything about Mark, Kevin's phone rings and it's Mark. He's at a park by the bridge where Elwood died, and says he needs $500. Kevin says he'll bring it and hangs up. Noah calls Margo and tells her that Mark's the killer and is headed for that bridge. Then Noah, Luke and Kevin rush off.... ![]() Jade's decided to dress up and go to Memorial to catch Casey before he gets off work. Lily tells her not to, that she's just humiliating herself. Jade wonders why Casey wouldn't want to be with her, and Lily reluctantly says it's because "He's already had you..." Kevin, Noah and Luke meet Mark on the bridge. Mark's angry that Kevin didn't come alone, but Kevin says that "this has to end". This pushes Mark too far, and he hits Kevin on the head with a piece of pipe. Noah grabs the pipe and Mark jumps up on the bridge and says he's going to jump. Luke says they should just let him and just then Mark's foot slips. Noah and Luke grab his arms and pull him to safety as Margo shows up. She cuffs Mark and sends him off with some cops. Then she calls an ambulance for Kevin, who's apologizing for not saying anything sooner. Luke and Noah tell Margo why they're all there and she says ok, but next time you feel like being cops, join the academy. Luke laughs and says fine, if he can be Starsky, and Noah mutters, "You are soooo Hutch!" ![]() At Memorial, Ali's recovering and will be fine and Casey's with her. She tells him that Matt isn't the bad guy, it's Mark. Casey's shocked. Matt soon comes into Ali's room. He's all beat up and not impressed when Casey tells him that he was wrong and he's sorry. Matt and Ali are holding hands and talking, Casey's forgotten, and slips out of the room. Of course, Jade's there and asks him if he wants to get out of there. He says he does, and they walk out. ![]() What is it with those Hughes boys, anyway? They, Adam & Casey, are sure losers. ![]() I really hate that they're using the tired old storyline of Jade now being infatuated with Casey. ![]() Luke and Noah were fun today.

I know that stories are plot-driven and written so that everyone's involved and all that, but the question begs to be asked - what would the Oakdale Police Department do without the fine citizens of Oakdale!!!! Honestly, sometimes this show just stretches the limits of imagination. That being said, funnily enough I actually enjoyed it today - except for Lily and Jade. Maybe it's not Jade, but whatever scenes Lily are in, I just find boring. Her character doesn't seem to have any highs or lows it's just monotone for me. Glad Matt is one of the good guys, only hope they have a good story coming for him. Thanks for recapping! |

I think Casey and Adam have been portrayed as losers just because their parents are such winners. Casey especially has had a lot to live up to with his parents' legacy so his self confidence is damaged. Ali has helped to boost this self confidence but now that he was totally wrong about Matt, he'll avoid Ali again, won't even fight for her. He feels he can't compete with Matt, so he's better off with Jade. Speaking of low self esteem Jade sure has loads of it if she is willing to be Casey's consolation prize. Interesting that Luke was nice to Kevin when he was helping them to trap Mark but once Kevin was lying on the ground in agony he seemed to look down at him with contempt. Maybe Mark calling him and Noah "fa***ts" brought back memories of that summer at Raven Lake. But while Kevin was Mark's friend, he wasn't his accomplice. I think he was just scared that Mark would kill him too if he revealed he knew too much. I guess all the clues pointed to Mark but I saw Kevin as diabolical and Mark as just pathetic. For once the bad guy does not bite the dust and I bet Mark's not the only dealer so could reveal the mastermind of the operation. But the way the show had a finality to the ending, I doubt we'll see Mark or Kevin again.

Well, I don't look at Margo and Tom as such great winners. Margo is totally incompetent and her judgement is almost always questionable with work related issues, and her personal judgement is really no better. Not to mention that both of them have had affairs and children with their lovers....

When Tom was Casey's age, he was on drugs and breaking into Michael Shea's office to steal more. He was very messed up back then, moreso than Casey. And young Margo was sleeping with married James Stenbeck. And as she got older she had Adam with Hal even though she was married to Tom. In recent months, I just hate how Margo treats Casey. He may be a screw up but it's almost self-fulfilling prophecy the way his parents talk down to him and always assume th worst. |

Yeah Tom and Margo are hypocrites but so are all the other adults in Oakdale. But all Casey sees is a father who is a well respected lawyer and former D.A. and a mother who is Chief of Detectives and he could never reach their level of achievement. All his peers would probably say the same thing. It doesn't help that M and T have big chips on their shoulders and keep reminding Caey what a screw up he's been. It would be great if Tom and Margo's past would be brought up more maybe by Grandparents Bob and Lisa but of course JP has no interest in using the veterans or bringing up ancient history.

I LOVE YESTERDAY's saga....and even though I would not want this MURDER BUSINESS and DRUG BUSINESS storyline to last for 9 MONTHS or more.....given the OTHER STORYLINE with the Fab4BabyFollies....I think I could enjoy MURDER and DRUGs more. These GOLDEN NESTERS...the kids that just cannot find a good job and be able to support themselves away from their parents home....whiy does this sound so familiar to the real world?? |

Well I was cracking up at times in places where I don't think it was supposed to be funny. I'm very glad this story is over. For the most part the actors did the best they could but the writing was horrendous. Why can't they write a decent story for the 20 somethings? Well maybe because they have a hard time writing for anyone these days. It's no wonder the show has lost over 800,000 viewers in the last year. |

Contains spoiler The problem is the best written twentysomethings are Luke and Noah but tptb are avoiding writing any gay issue stories. They would rather write "Luke and Noah solve a murder" rather than "Luke and Noah buy their dream house." The twentysomethings on the show lately have had criminal records or shady pasts with the exception of Noah. Because the crimes are one time and not ongoing they become issues that hold the regulars back and prevent character development. Just a lot of moping and going in circles. If tptb are not gonna create a crime syndicate a la GH, or a regular drug ring story maybe its time for reform. They have Ali, Matt, Casey, Luke and Jade all reforming, and have eliminated the twentysomething criminals, so maybe there's a good reason for adding those twins Zac and Zoe and having them part of Nuke and Casey. At this point I'd rather see fresh characters than have ones with family connections totally destroyed!

I don't think that has anything to do with TPTB avoiding gay issue stories. The fact is that TPTB rarely have any happy couples because frankly, happy couples are considered to be boring. I have no interest in seeing Jack and Janet or Katie and Brad or Noah and Luke getting buying their dream house. I find the whole Katie and Brad have a baby to be boring and FF through that kind of stuff. Plus, Noah and Luke are still young to be buying a house and settle down. They're still in college and should be interacting with the younger set. I think it would be great for them to get an apartment together. I do agree that the whole murder storyline was poorly written, but I'm finding that with the majority of storylines right now. |

Karen I agree that it has nothing to do with avoiding gay issues. If it did then why can't the show write decently for Casey and Alison either both as a couple or individual characters? And the last thing I want to see is Luke and Noah buy their dream house. Luke is 19 and that is way too young. He also has no ambition and seems to just be floundering in life currently. When he talked about getting an apartment he said he was sure his parents would help pay for it so how the heck can they buy their dream house? I doubt his trust funds are available until he turns 21 and he put all the money from Damian into the foundation. I'd like to see them all act young and fun. They made the mistake of turning Gwen and Will into an old married couple and I would hate to see that happen to Nuke. Let Luke figure out what he wants to do with his life and go for it and give them a story around that. If they aren't going to send him back to school then make him a young entrepreneur with some drive. Let Lucinda mentor him as he builds a business. Or remember that he's a writer and let him do that. Don't turn them into a bunch of fuddyduds. |

I have to wonder why the writers seem determined to take the younger set and make them into copies of the older set. College age kids shouldn't even be thinking about kids, houses, etc, and it's really stupid to see storylines built around those things for them. GMAB!

I absolutely agree with the comments about the younger characters being written poorly AND older than they really are. It's ridiculous, really, and clearly the writers (FIRE JP!!!) aren't inspired to think of what could happen with college aged people, besides campus assault. It's frustrating to see Luke have nothing to do, though perhaps his role, such as it was, in helping solve Reg's murder might inspire him to follow up on something... At least Ali is studying to be a nurse and Noah is taking classes. They are the only 2 with an idea of what kids their ages do. And I think Casey feels inferior to his parents (as they are now and how he perceives them to be), not to mention his opinion on what happened to Adam. |

So, the problem is that once characters are over 18 they are suddenly written as ADULTS with downbeat stories instead of as young people having fun with life while discovering who they are. In addition, making such young characters porn stars, drug users and criminals just comes across as silly especially when there's no long term development. But Nuke could have good long term potential if the focus is on their development as a couple. Not buying a house exactly but doing SOMETHING as a couple other than trying to solve a murder which really should be done by the OPD. Just coping with living together and getting on each other nerves would be better for Nuke than "Starsky and Hutch" I wonder how many twentysomethings today even know who Starsky and Hutch is? Probably the only way to write good stories for the twentysomethings is if they're done by writers in their twenties.
