Parker and Liberty are on the lam, but I don't think they got far, they're somewhere sitting and eating ice cream and pizza, and Parker keeps wanting them to hit the road and Liberty keeps trying to stall him. ![]() Back home, Carly's cooking cajun chicken, Parker's favorite, and sucking down wine. She calls Jack and tells him she thinks that Parker is okay with boarding school, she's cooking his favorite dinner, and invites Jack, Janet and Liberty. Jack accepts the invitation, and Janet says she'll bring some of her (Italian accent) ricotta cheesecake. So Janet starts trying to get ahold of Liberty, but Parker is telling Lib not to answer her phone... Now Jack and Janet show up at Carly's, and Sage comes home. She reminds Carly that she needs money for some school thing, tomorrow, and Carly goes to get the money out of her purse, but the $100 that was there is gone. Nobody thinks anything about it, really, just that she must be mistaken. But then Sage goes upstairs to get a duffle bag out of Parker's closet. It's gone, and so are a lot of his clothes and video games. Sage comes downstairs and says she thinks Parker's gone. At first nobody wants to believe it, but then they have to, and Jack and Janet leave to see if they can find any trace of the teens. Craig and Johnny are at Al's having fries and a burger when Lucy walks in. Johnny's happy to see her and wants her to spend the day with them, but Craig says Lucy's busy. Jack and Janet come into the diner and Jack asks Craig if he's seen Parker, Craig is sarcastic and insulting to Jack and Lucy takes Johnny out of earshot. Johnny tells Lucy he saw Parker with a car, a car that had a funny license plate, Boo Boo. Johnny asks Lucy if they should tell, but Lucy says no, Parker's just playing a game with us.... As soon as Lucy's alone, she makes a phone call to somebody and says she needs a favor... ![]() At the police station, Janet's getting hysterical, saying stuff like what if the kids starve? ![]() Carly's had waaaayyyy too much to drink and is just heading out the door to go look for Parker when Craig shows up. He's stopping Carly from leaving and Sage comes downstairs and tells Craig to "get off her!" Craig gets Carly settled on the couch and tells Sage he'll bring some of that cajun chicken up to her in her room, which he does. Then he gts a call from Lucy. She says that she knows where Parker and Liberty are, at a mall outside of Chicago. Craig starts to tell Carly the news, but she's asleep, so Craig heads out on his own. Of course, Lucy's there, too, and immediately they see Parker and Liberty and Craig yells at them. They start to run, with Craig and Lucy right behind them, then Liberty trips and Parker comes back and Craig and Lucy catch up with them. Craig and Lucy play things just right, Craig has Lucy tell the teens how hard it was, being on the road, hiding, with Johnny, and she was an adult with skills to support them. She also says how hard it was to know you were hurting people who loved you and didn't know where you were... Parker is still trying to justify running. Craig says he's not going to force them to go back home, and if they chose not to, Craig won't tell on them. ![]() Jack and Janet have gone to Carly's to bring her up to speed, and Jack asks her if she's drunk. She says no, she just had some wine because she was so upset... Janet brings her coffee, and Sage says that Craig got Carly upset. Carly insists that isn't true and just then Parker and Liberty walk in, with Craig right behind them. Everybody's happy the kids are safe, and Craig says where he found them. Jack accuses Craig of lying to his face, but Parker says that Craig had nothing to do with this. Craig says he'll leave so they can figure things out, before he leaves, Carly gives him a hug and thanks him... ![]() Janet takes Liberty home, and Jack goes right back into uber parent mode, saying that Parker is still going to boarding school. Even though Parker tries to get Jack to change his mind, Jack won't budge and sends Parker to his room. Carly tells Jack that Parker will just run away from boarding school, but there's no changing Jack's mind, and he leaves... ![]() Janet's got Liberty at Brad's, taking care of her leg, but the two of them just start arguing and Janet insists that she's going to be with Liberty 24/7 until Parker's at boarding school. Jack comes in and says that this is just a bump in the road... ![]() At the Lakeview, Craig tells Lucy that even though she helped him find Parker and Liberty, he's not changing his mind about letting her see Johnny. Lucy is fine with that, and Craig's puzzled... ![]() Parker realizes that Carly doesn't want Parker to go to boarding school, but Carly says that doesn't matter, he's going... Parker goes upstairs, and Carly goes into the kitchen, looking for a drink, but the wine bottle's empty. ![]() While all this is going on, Dusty and Meg are hanging out at some park, with Eliza in her stroller. It seems to be bitterly cold, you can see their breath, and at first Dusty doesn't want to talk to Meg, he's brooding, but then he changes his mind and we get to hear/watch way too much of them talking about their relationship, where it's been, where it's going, how Meg can fix a radiator or something, in a car, then they go back to the farm, where Dusty uses his magic touch to sooth a fussy Eliza. I wonder who Lucy called? Somebody who could use that license plate to track down the car, not only figure out whose car it is, but WHERE it is...

Lucy bugged the crap out of me today. I was OK with her at first, because she wisely moved Johnny away from Jack and Craig's argument but the minute she had helpful info about Parker and Liberty, she should have called Jack. Obviously, she had her own reasons for NOT letting the parent & police in on the scoop, but it ticked me off.I despise how Jack is being written in regards to his parenting. Carly, even in a wine soaked stupor, can see that sending Parker off to boarding school is a mistake. Jack, with much help from Janet, is abdicating any and all responsibility and authority as a parent to Parker. Given how screwed up and selfish Jack and Carly are, I think Parker's case for independence has some credibility. Janet is clueless and vindictive THOUGH, I must admit, that I like how she and Carly are getting along. Which means, of course, that it won't last because heaven forbid Carly have a friend for more than a month... ![]() Dusty and Meg.... I saw their lips moving but whatever they said went completely into space as far as I'm concerned. Maybe now that Carly is in distress and MW is pregnant, Dusty can go rescue HER.

Totally agree with you Annie, re: Janet and Jack. She is pushing him to alienate his son, and eventually he is going to regret it. I also think he will blame himself for Carly's worsening alcohol issues, and it will be the other thing that creates the wedge between J&J and finally will break 'em up eventually. Is Parker officially going to go for emancipation? I gotta say I totally support him. |

I generally like these characters better but today the previews looked more interesting to me than the show itself. Maybe I'm imagining it but it seems like Michael & Maura are just going through the motions with this story. They don't seem to be very engaged or focused.. or maybe it's just the story that doesn't seem to have a direction. I don't know what it is, but something with the whole situation feels off to me. At this rate, I'm actually wishing for Maura to get started on her leave so she can hurry up and get back so she can do something different! I thought it was just GL who made their actors stand out forever in the cold. Grayson and Marie looked like they were bordering on hypothermia! It's ridiculous that Dusty & Meg would be sitting outside talking in that weather WITH an INFANT! |

Watching this episode....I just wonder what tptb were trying to prove. JACK is a nut. CARLY is a lush. JANET was in ItalianFoodExpertMode. CRAIG tried to be the savior again...but it just did not really look like he was one. DUSTY was not fun to listen to. MEG...I kinda like a smiling happy MEG. And surprise. Surprise. Surprise. LUCY impressed me more than any of the characters, today. LIBERTY and PARKER...and even SAGE what a waste of a full episode. |

ITA! Marie actually had the sniffles and I can't imagine why Meg would go for a stroll with Eliza in a park in freezing cold weather! If it had to be shot on location I wish they could have found an indoor mall or maybe supermarket! BTW I recognized the mall where Parker and Liberty hung out... The Arches in Deer Park, NY. Its an outlet mall on Long Island! I live like 10 minutes from there and have been to the movie theater they were sitting in front of! Oh, and there's no pizza place at that mall One thing about Carly. Carly did not discover her bottle was empty. She was about to take a drink and then decided to dump what was left of the wine into the sink! It was great for Carly to make that decision but I wonder if its the beginning of the end or just a momentary moment of clarity. Gotta love the irony that all Jack's discipline tactics are doing is breaking his family apart. Janet is being her usual smothering self with Liberty but Jack is like a military general with tunnel vision. I'm not surprised Lucy did not tell Jack because she wanted to give Craig a chance to be a hero. Of course as Craig said she did this so she could get in his good graces. I hope we find out who did her a favor by researching the license plate .

Thanks Rich, for the correction on the wine, and Carly pouring out what was left, although I have to say, 'too little, too late'. But hey... ![]() Lucy even looked different to me in this show, her face seemed fuller and her eyes were different. I guess probably different makeup techniques? ![]() There just has to be more to Lucy and how she's behaving than we know right now...
