Apparently Noah and Luke have given their statements about Elwood, Mark, Kevin... apparently Kevin is "in trouble" too, as an accessory after the fact. Noah has got Luke up on just about the highest pedestal ever, while Luke is in whiney mode, "what did I do? why did Kevin have to get blamed? it's my fault elwood was killed..." Not only that, but he's been kicked out of school and just doesn't know what to do with himself... Noah says he's got to go study, so he takes off and Luke heads home... Also apparently...Lucinda seems to be still living with Holden and Lily. And Lily remembers that Lucinda and Luke have a meeting today at WW with a guy from a corporation called StarShine.... Lucinda says she's not feeling well enough to go to the meeting, and Lily feels terrible that she hasn't been sensitive to Lucinda's health, it's just that Lucinda always seems so up... Lily calls Luke and gets his voice mail. Apparently the boy hero isn't answering his phone much lately... So Lily leaves a message agout the meeting. But Luke arrives before even reading the message and says he's not going to the meeting, they can just cancel it.... Instead, Lily goes.... Lucinda, alone with Luke, takes the opportunity to ask Luke why he's being such a spoiled brat... So they talk a little bit about what Luke should be doing with his life, and why he isn't doing it... The meeting isn't going well, even though Brian's there. Noah gets on the phone and tells Luke to get his butt down there. And of course, Luke walks in at just the right moment, and gives a regular soapy talk about how maybe the guy from StarShine is maybe not comfortable with the idea that Luke's foundation stands for equality, for everybody, and Luke refers to Brian, saying that Brian was right when he told Luke that many businesspeople aren't comfortable with the idea of alternate lifestyles... Luke then throws down the gauntlet, and the guy from Starshine walks out! Despite that, Brian, Noah and Lily all have glowing faces with big smiles on them, because Luke is back in the saddle. Lily tells Brian that she knows Lucinda would love to see him, so they head over to Lily's. Sure enough, Lucinda IS glad to see Brian, and glad that Luke is back on the foundation. However, they need somebody to take Brian's old position, and Lily thinks she could be that person. Everybody takes off, leaving Lucinda and Brian to talk. It's good stuff, and Brian asks Lucinda if they can be friends. Lucinda says she can do that. On the other side of town... Katie and Brad are playing gin to keep their hands off each other. It seems they are just so darned hot all the time that they can't go a second without having sex. In the nick of time, Vienna calls to say she's "dropped an egg" so they should head to the hospital. Vienna drags Henry along, and Henry can't hide the fact that he's still having problems with this whole thing... At Memorial, Vienna goes with the doctor, and a nurse hands Brad a pile of "magazines" and a container and off he goes.... however, he can't seem to get things going so, FTLOG, Katie goes into the room with him, and there is success.... so now the sperm is taken away to be washed.... TMI... and Vienna talks with Henry about how if he wants to stop this procedure, now's the time. But Henry says no, no, systems are all go.... But he does admit that he fears that Vienna will be focused totally on the baby, and won't have time for him. Vienna reassures him that's not going to be the case. Now Vienna's in bed and Brad, Katie and Henry are in the room with her. The doc and nurse walk in with the sperm/syringe and say it's time... Vienna wants everybody to stay in the room for the procedure, and THEN she says she wants Henry to do it! The doctor is aghast, and then Henry starts arrangeing people in the room, and in the commotion, with Henry not feeling real happy, Henry knocks the tray with the syringe to the floor, and it breaks! Not to worry. Katie says that Brad can "do it again" and he says not without her, so she goes into the room with him again, and they talk Brad into the right "frame of mind".... Now there is a second syringe and the doctor says that this time he will do the job and everybody out... so, next thing we see is Brad and Katie coming in with cupcakes and balloons. Vienna is starving and just doesn't know why she's craving sugar so much... Henry sighs and says she can't be pregnant already, and she says why not, maybe little Sven or Inga is already a person... Everybody looks worried for awhile, but then Vienna says she has to be able to have a name to call the baby while she's carrying it, and Katie steps up and says she totally understands. Then, it's time to go, so everybody's helping Vienna out of bed, except Henry, who's standing off to the side. Back at Henry and Katie's room, Katie is practically carrying Vienna and insisting she sits on the bed. Then Katie and Brad "feel" the baby, OMG Katie says, she can actually feel something! Vienna insists that Henry "feel" too, and he does, but says he feels nothing. THEN Katie says she thinks they should all say a prayer and Brad comes up with something that is so stupid, just the frosting on the cake that I totally blanked it... As if the gag quotient isn't high enough, Noah has Luke back up on that pedestal again, and Luke isn't having any trouble at all soaking it all in. Truly, I was thiiiiis close to turning off the show today. Vienna is downright scary and weird and Katie isn't any better... The hero worship of Luke was way over the top. If it had been spread out in several shows, it would have been easier to take, but this was like some kind of eating contest. I did enjoy Brian and Lucinda.

I kept reaching for the remote during the show. The whole baby story is just painful and disgusting to watch. These actors deserve so much better. It certainly seems that Vienna is already pregnant. How on earth would any doctor inseminate a woman without running extensive tests first including checking to see if she might already be pregnant! I'm not even going to get into her "dropping an egg" since obviously she couldn't read a home pregnancy test so how on earth would she know the result of that. Here's hoping this is the fastest pregnancy on ATWT ever! Make it stop! I liked that Luke seems to have a renewed purpose in life I've been longing for that for some time. I also really like the idea of Lily being involved in the foundation because she also needs a purpose, on the show in general. I just found it a far stretch on how we got here in the length of today's show Talk about going from 0 to 60! I did like Lucinda calling Luke a spoiled brat And it was good to see Lucinda. Seeing Lucinda with Brian just reminded me how much better they could have made the story if they really let it be about them, whether it was a real romance or a companionship. That potential was thrown away.

And yes, Lucinda and Brian as friends could have been a wonderful AND longterm storyline.

I enjoyed everything Nuke, especially their cute scene at the end. Lucinda was great and it's been two months since we've seen her. I don't give a hoot about this baby stuff. That took up way too much time. And it's no fun to see Henry as a sourpuss like this.

I wished, too, that this could have been a storyline that was lengthened and spaced out better....BUT I thought it was so much better than "washing the sperm" storyline. And for that we have to deal another 9 months supposedly.

The baby stuff - I simply cannot believe that no one on the writing staff could check out the (&^&%^$!#@$! basics on WebMD or something about how IUI works. OH MY GOD. IF Vienna is already pregnant, she should have been tested, even with a simple blood test before the IUI was done. But if she took an ovulation test (the egg dropping BS), she wouldn't show up as being pregnant. This show's writing is beyond lazy and offensive. No way would everyone have been in the room. Henry needs to be honest and speak up. Any potential this story had a week ago after the moving speeches by Vienna and Katie is dead in the water. The show took something and made it campy but in a horrible horrible way. The final scene with Lucinda and Brian just made me furious - why couldn't the show have left them alone as friends?????? I hope Van leaves the show the minute his contract is up - he is wasting his time and talent on this show. I've given up with nuLily. I can't see the point of her being around most of the time, and I don't see any chemistry between her and anyone else on the show. I don't think the actress is bad, I just don't think she's good as Lily. EH/Lucinda looked wonderful!

Newbie Posts: 14 Group: Members Member #115 Joined: September 17, 2008	I watch the show while I'm cleaning or something so I don't pay close attention but doesn't Vienna refer to the procedure as "Brad getting me pregnant"? I thought I heard her say that a few times these past weeks. And didn't anyone notice that Henry turned his back to everyone after Brad said his "prayer"? Again, I wasn't paying close attention but I thought I noticed that. Also, shouldn't Luke have some kind of counseling or something? After the slasher storyline and Elwood getting run over, he's seen a lot of death (or at least more than the average person). I know...I'm asking alot for a soap. Just my thoughts I guess .

As for Luke and counseling I don't really think he needs it any more than anybody else involved, in reality, the whole town should be having therapy.

It would have been better to just have Brad matter of factly leave his "deposit" and then have more time spent on the aftermath. Its another case of the writers squeezing out as much as they can from a weak storyline. In preview it seemed funny having Henry mess up the process but the whole sequence at Memorial went on WAY too long. And someone PLEASE SHUT BRAD UP! I would have rather seen a comical turkey baster attempt than this crap!:smack Where are the Three Stooges when you need them? Oh, yeah that would by Katie, Brad and Vienna! But, I can identify with Henry's turmoil. Henry's the most sympathetic and the other three are Dumb, Dumber and Dumberer. If tptb have Vienna already pregnant by Henry that would be the most ridiculous. I'm hoping the three saying they can feel the baby is just wishful thinking. I didn't mind the quick developments for Nuke because they needed to get Luke out of his funk and start getting into a routine. Plus it helps if he's not doing anything illegal. Luke the political activist is back!

But no, the writers beat the campy stuff to death and ruin it. And there's NO WAY that Vienna or anyone else would "feel" anything except abdominal rumbling/gas . Maybe in 3 weeks from the procedure, the result would be the size of a poppy seed, that's it. And you don't feel a poppy seed hanging out in someone's insides. In that case, total campy might have worked, I suppose I'm not sure what the point was to show this much detail of the procedure if they were going to attempt to do it seriously BUT inaccurately. Once you had everyone in the room with balloons and cupcakes sure to follow, the storyline may have been better off to go over the top silly like you mentioned. How hard is it in this day and age to Google any medical procedure and check out a few reputable websites, just to keep things a little on track? That's what I just don't understand. With information just a few clicks away on any computer, just about every time someone lands in the hospital on this show, things COULD be written better without much effort or production cost. LAZY is what it is. JP seems to condone it, too.
