Thanks, Judy, for filling in some of the background from yesterday with Jack's reaction. I watched the show in bits & pieces, so I'll try to catch their scenes in full again.

Jack has been blaming Carly for most everything Parker has done wrong previously, IMO. Maybe he wasn't ready to seeing his role in things until now. :hmm

Roger, you're right about not many agreeing with you on Parker's lineage. :devil :lol In fact, I just posted in another thread that I was glad they were bringing the Munson angle into it. :shutup

Judy, I agree that Craig should have let Carly call Jack right away, although, loving Craig/Jon as I do, :devil I can see Craig's point of view, but...he was wrong. :smack

What Jack needs to see is that now that the teens actually ARE married, the adults involved need to start from that point and do what needs to be done to get things back onto some kind of even keel... :fingers :pray

I think Jack is thinking that this will be a wakeup call for the kids and it will make them realize they made a mistake and they'll come back and admit that. What he forgets is that Parker is as bullheaded as he is and Hal was. Carly on the other hand is just ready to accept this and the way Parker treated her and to continue to support him and provide a place for him to live. She needs to realize that if she keeps handling the situation the same way, the results aren't going to change. I think in her own way she is still begging for his forgiveness for her leaving with Simon.

The smartest thing would be to bring in a disinterested party like a counselor or pastor or somebody to try to mediate the whole mess. Or to go to the kids in the morning and calmly talk about what happens next. Somebody needs to calmly lay out everything and decide where it all goes next and hopefully the kids realize they made a mistake and perhaps come up with an alternate solution as opposed to sending Parker to boarding school. And even if Parker does get his trust fund, I doubt it would be immediate so just how did he think they were going to live on $30? He seemed to assume they could stay in Milltown until he got the money. And Craig just needs to totally butt out. He can let Carly know he's there for her but he has no business being involved in what happens with the kids and needs to be far away when any of those discussions take place. Can you imagine him if anyone insinuated themselves in decisions about Johnny? :fliplid

Of course knowing it's a soap, we know it won't all be handled calmly :devil But that's why I'm loving it because it isn't all clear cut and even JP can't tie it up in a neat little bow in one episode :devil

Oh, yeah, I could just see how Craig would react if somebody told him what to do with Johnny. :lol In fact, we have... :shutup

I just can't help myself from trying to figure out what I, as a parent, would do in this situation, and am so glad I never had to deal with it... :waiting

I agree 100% that Craig needs to extract himself from this entire situation asap - he's furious for the slightest finger getting into life with Johnny... maybe someone needs to remind him of that! :wacko

Judy, an outside perspective to help the whole family is a great, practical idea which will surely not see the light on the show :smack We can hope, though!

Maybe Rosanna will swoop in at some point and be the voice of reason. Ha! :devil

Barb, I shudder to think of how I'd handle this kind of situation :eek :wacko :shutup
