Today is Parker's hearing for emancipation, and he sneaked home to get his suit before Carly woke up. Lucky for him, he didn't see Craig and Carly sleeping.... Anyway, when Carly woke up, she was hung over and shocked to see that Craig was in bed with her. Especially when she peeked under the covers to see if she really was nekkid... Carly told Craig to leave, cause she has to get ready to go to the hearing... When Parker got back to the Lakeview, he stopped at the gift shop and bought Liberty a dress, courtesy of Craig... Later, Craig, Parker and Liberty had breakfast together downstairs, and Parker told Craig he wants him at the hearing... ![]() Janet and Jack are still arguing about the fact that Jack told Janet that "Carly had Craig in MY bed!" When Jack left for work, things still weren't peaches and cream between the two. When Carly showed up, Janet told her that Jack had gone over to the house last night to talk to her, about all of them, minus Craig, putting their heads together and acting like parents and trying to talk things through with the kids. Unfortunately, he walked in on Carly's "booty call". Of course, Carly felt even worse when she heard that... Alison and Casey were at the diner to have breakfast and Ali was telling him about all the cool extension classes that were being offered at OU over the summer, and trying to get Casey to take some with her. Then Margo showed up, whoops, that got Casey's back up, not that he'd sounded real excited about the classes to begin with, but Margo pretty much finished it off. Casey went to work and was promptly laid off by Dr Bob! When he saw Ali next, he told her that he's now got a lot of time to take classes... Then he went home and started playing Guitar Hero, but the fascination seemed to have worn thin. He was tempted to gamble, but Ali called, asking him to meet her in the park.. ![]() Craig went out to the farm looking for Jack, for some reason, but Jack was gone and Janet told Craig that for once in his life he should do the right thing, and butt out... Surprisingly, Craig does decide not to go to the hearing. Then he goes to the police station and tells Margo that he's going to back off... when he starts talking about himself and Carly, Margo suddenly and says, "OMG, you're in love with Carly!" ![]() Jack and Carly do find time to talk and they're both calm and reasonable, and agree to do what they have to in order to make things right with Parker and Liberty. When they get to court, before the hearing starts, they ask Parker if he's sure he wants to go through with this, and he says yes. In the courtroom, things go pretty much as you'd expect, at the start, and when Carly and then Jack try to speak, the judge shoots them down and says that Parker is mature enough to do his own talking. After some consideration, the judge decides that Parker isn't to be emancipated, but that a new guardian should be appointed for his trust. Parker says he'd like that guardian to be Craig, and the judge says he'll consider it. Apparently the judge decided that Craig would make a good guardian, cause everybody's in hysterics. ![]() This makes Jack just livid and he takes Carly out in the hall and tells her that this is what Craig wanted all along, and that now Craig will have more control over their son than they will, and all because Carly gave it to him! Carly tells Jack that he's being ludicrous, but Jack isn't listening. Janet grabs Jack and Carly leaves.... When Casey meets Ali at the park, she's bought a new skateboard for him, and tells him they're just going to have fun. Somehow, though, they end up at the OU campus.... Casey agrees to a flip of a coin to decide if he's going to take a class, but says he'd get to pick the class. Yep, he loses, and he choses a class on African drumming. ![]() At the farm, Janet makes Jack a sandwich. He's in a real bad place, but Janet tells him that nothing, not even Craig Montgomery, is going to make either of them lose their kids, and Jack takes comfort in her strength. ![]() Meanwhile, Parker seems to be living in an alternate reality, talking to Liberty about how good they're going to have it now, and that Craig is going to give them all the money they want and they can do whatever they feel like. ![]() Carly goes to Craig's room, furious and tells him that he's got what he wanted all the time, access to Parker's trust fund. Craig is totally shocked, he hasn't even found out that he's the guardian, and swears to Carly that he didn't want this, but that he will never do anything that Carly herself wouldn't do.

The judge is a *&@#%!@ moron. Again. Good grief!!!! OF COURSE the current guardian should have been allowed to speak. Why on earth would the judge just listen to Parker? God, I HATE how the show handles legal and medical stuff! Parker isn't listening to ANYONE, not even Liberty. I really liked Janet's talk with Craig today Jack ended on a sour note again but I enjoyed him and Margo at the police station. Margo had good advice. For once. She should try listening to herself sometimes. Craig needs to set Parker straight from the get go. Boy, I want Craig to not screw Parker and the trust fund. But I doubt Craig will be able to resist. Maura looked less PG today to me Her hair lately has been terrific!

Well....if CRAIG was after PARKER's trust fund....then I think we would have seen something in his eyes when CARLY left him at the end of the episode. BUT that does not mean that his brain wheels did not start churning after the revelation. My prediction is CARLY will cut off the skin games with CRAIG...THEN he will start doing things that CARLY would not appreciate. Next up...enter ROSANNA. The rest of the show dragged. Previews for Tuesday...I will want to see the SNYDER business....but get the Fab4BabyFollies off my screen. |

The Judge is an idiot. He did no investigation to find out if any of the things that Parker claimed are true which is what he should have done instead of ruling right then and there. Both of Parker's parents should have testified BEFORE the Judge made his decision. And really now, why would you appoint someone as guardian before telling them??? It's okay for Parker to make a suggestion, but other people could have made suggestions too. And it would have been much more appropriate to appoint someone with no relation to the family. Tom Hughes or Bonnie McKechnie would both qualify. As Anni said, the way the writers handle legal and medical cases is ludicrous!!!! I hope Craig lays down the law to Parker and Liberty. I really have no problem with him providing a roof over their heads and food, but he should start setting some ground rules especially now that he is guardian. He needs to tell them that they MUST go back to school and also meet other conditions (grade wise) to get any allowance from the trust fund. That all being said, I love Jon Lindstrom as Craig. He's doing an outstanding job. Finally Jack wanted to be reasonable - now that the kids are married and the court emancipation hearing was set. Well, too little, too late. He has been acting like the biggest ASSHOLE in Oakdale for a while now. Everyone wants to blame Carly for this mess (because of her history and current drinking problem) but I BLAME Jack. It's his way or the highway. He won't listen to anyone at all. He is always right and in Jack's world, no one is allowed an opinion. I really, really dislike Jack. |

I agree with you guys, the judge is an idiot, and the way the show handles legal and medical issues is ludicrous! Patty, I completely agree, that Craig needs to lay down some conditions. Actually, this would be a chance for Craig to be a good guy and do the right thing. And I love Jon L's Craig, too.

Interesting that while in the world according to Jack, Craig is the great manipulator it seems to me that Parker is the one pulling the strings. He seems to have a hold over everyone including the judges. He gets Liberty to agree to marry him, gets a judge out of state to make it legal without parental consent, gets housing and food from Craig, angers Jack so much that he has his parents fighting each other instead of being a united front. And finally he gets a judge to remove Carly as trustee and appoint Craig! I hope Craig, a veteran manipulator, will see through Parker and give him the discipline and structure he needs!. I wonder if Lucy's plan will get Craig in such trouble though that he will have his funds frozen so will access the trust out of desperation? At THAT point I would like Rosanna to come back and take over the trust plus the rest of Craig's finances.:hmm

Rich, you certainly brought a different perspective to the discussion and wow, I think you're on target with a lot of that! ![]() If nothing else, there are a lot of layers going on. It's never a black & white world, though Jack wishes it could be. |

Rich, I have to agree that Parker is leading everybody around by a ring in their noses. He's making all the adults look like fools.... Of course, he has the help of the writers.
