Yes, after about 40 years, I have quit watching ATWT for about 2 weeks now. I remember when I was in school I would come home and ask my mom what happened everyday. I did stop watching for maybe a year back in the 80's when I went back to work. Last year was the first luncheon I had missed in 9 years and never cared that I did. Obviously I am not going this year either. Not sure if it is my crazy life now or I am just fed up with the show. I won't give up Y&R though.

So anyway, Barb, I plan on still coming around here and checking the recaps, who knows, I may come back to the show again one day. Thanks.

Me too! I still have it on my DVR and I still read Barb's recaps faithfully but the show just isn't holding my interest - no soap is actually. I removed GH from my DVR a while ago and haven't missed it and I'll remove AMC when Tamara Braun leaves (what a waste!!). Its very sad abotu the cancellation of GL but I'm betting its not the only show we'll see removed from the daytime landscape.
'nuff said

At one time...I decided to NEVER TURN MY BACK on JULIA LINDSAY. She is and will always be my PRINCESS...and look where TPTB took her??!!!???!!! :gaah :gaah

To think I have even stated this same admiration for ATWT in general...and I want to stick it out so badly but wonder when my ATWT daily hour will go dark.

BUT....We still have the Hughes family. We still have Nancy. We still have Kim. We still have Bob. We still have Lisa. We still have Barbara. We still have the SNYDERS. We still have Lucinda. We still have the next generation of stars....Carly, Jack, Luke, Noah....etc. We still have hope.

I am almost there. I still hang in and catch bits of days with Carly and Jack. In reality, I now think this year will be the final one for ATWT, and as a result, Carly and Jack won't get back together until 2010, in which case I don't know how much longer I can hang on. I don't dislike any of the other characters or stories, I just don't love them enough to care, ya know?

I think I am ready for this medium to die. They've ruined it at this point.

On the very last day at the very last hour, I will be watching ATWT. I love this show, through terrible stories and great stories, ATWT is my show. I've hated characters and I've loved characters. They come and go and then there are new characters to hate or love.

I started watching when I was 12 years old and however long ATWT is on the air, I will be watching. I may FF through some stories and characters but I will be watching.

I :heart ATWT!!!!

I still have it on my DVR program line up, but basically, I've pretty much given up the show. I just can't stand having my intelligence insulted on a daily basis anymore. Carly and Jack are ruined as a couple and somewhat as individuals. Parker, the sweetest little boy ever born on a soap, has been turned into a surly teenager so nasty and hateful I can't stand to listen to him. The Scooby Gang and their quest to make a baby is beyond stupid. Paul and Meg, Luke and Noah, Alison and Chris, are all mind numbingly boring. And I have had about as much of As The World Turns Around Craig as I can stand.

And there's no way I will sit and watch it live, without the benefit of my remote control and fast forward button. It's too painful. So I too have thrown up the white flag. Mean Jean and Gouty have worn me down, and all emotional investment I once had in ATWT is gone.
