If the REAL $$$ PEOPLE figured out that the best way to save ATWT and to celebrate what is left of OAKDALE decided that the POSTERS of weloveatwt.com would be the ANSWER.... What would we do as HEAD WRITERS??? FIRST the TIME LINE....Should ATWT end? SECOND....now that everyone KNOWS we are the new WRITERS....who (ACTOR WISE) would want to come back and join our endeavor? THIRD....HOW DO WE END THESE current storylines? FOURTH...what are the new storylines? Any other BIG IDEAS?? Since this soap opera has circled around the life of Nancy Hughes....I would want to chat with her and decide when she would like to end things. I would never want to just kick her to the curb. But if she was ready to step down...then I would consider this the END of ATWT. If we started making $$$$ for the show then we could always start FRESH with a new show based on ATWT but allowed to metamorphisized into a new hit show. So join in and provide your thoughts, ideas and concerns....and if anyone else is interested in sharing....then I will build upon what we come up with...... |

The plan should be to focus on the main families in Oakdale by featuring the veterans more who give out advice to the younger generation that's been lost without them. Anyone who cannot take the veterans advice about their problems needs to be in therapy. The most important part of the writing would have to be showing characters trying to get their life together rather than spinning out of control. Also less scheming and more honest discussions and realistic court and medical scenes. Plus trim the cast down to just the families instead of introducing new characters. I feel a big catalyst for change could be financial ruin for the wealthier characters. Even if the show is cancelled it would be an appropriate way to go out! If not cancelled the show could use such major changes in wealth status to rejuvinate the characters and stories. |

Not sure. I think I am ready for ATWT to end, but I can't decide. I would want Carly and Jack back together in the end. I would liket to find out Sheila Cabot is not dead and have her come back.... do a really good family story with Carly, Ro and Sheila. I keep seeing Maureen Garrett in the role of Sheila, because of some stuff I saw MG do with both Sherry Stringfield and Liz Keifer when she was Holly and the other 2 played Blake on GL. I would use the Sheila story as a vehicle to help Carly and Jack deal with their issues (I would bring back Delores, too) and find their way home to each other. I would give Kathleen Widdoes a big part in this story, too... this story would result in Emma empathizing with both Carly and Ro, and she'd butt heads with Sheila over the girls. It all also leads to a reconciliation between Parker and his parents. Parker and Liberty get an annulment. They go off to separate colleges and decide to see other people... if they still have feelings for each other in a few years they will try it again. Emily and Carly get their friendship back. Emily finds a decent therapist and a decent guy - in that order - and lives happily ever after. I've always had a soft spot for Em. Bob and Kim retire and enjoy life together. They may go join Chris doing relief work. John would return and reconcile with Lucinda. Sierra decides Montega is in good hands and comes home. She reconciles with Craig somehow, and helps him reconcile with Lucy. They raise Johnny together and she gets him to let Dusty and Barbara be part of his life. If need be I will go the cheap plot device route here... the bad stuff Craig has done is the result of a slow growing brain tumour. A little surgery and he's a decent guy again, the guy who Sierra loved. Mary Beth Evans would be playing Sierra. Goutman would be fired to facilitate Scott Bryce playing Craig. I am torn now... part of me thinks Bryce's Craig should be with Meg, not Sierra. I loved Marie J. Wilson with Scott Bryce. And to see Craig/Meg as a family with Johnny and Eliza intrigues me. Sam and Kirk come back, too... they will help Sierra et al with WordWide. Holden dies (or ends up with Molly, I don't care which) and Lily ends up back with Dusty or Damian. Damian and Luke reconcile. If Lily ends up with Dusty, I think I like Damian with Barbara. If she ends up with Damian, I think I like Dusty with Janet. Noah and Luke would move to a state that allows gay marriage. Tom and Margo would be happy in Oakdale. They would accept Ali and Casey together and the two would get married. We forget that the whole stupid Adam/Gwen story happened and he ends up with Abigail. Brad ends up with either Janet or Camille, who comes back. Katie ends up back with Simon. Simon and Katie move to Australia. If Brad ends up with Janet, they live at the farm. Otherwise, Camille comes back and discovers Janet has been lying to Brad; he is NOT Liberty's father. Duncan and Jessica reconcile and come back to Oakdale. Bonnie comes with them. She can bring Isaac and the kid whose name I am blanking out on as well. This is controversial - JJ dies offscreen... nothing to do with Carly though, unlike the rumours. I want to erase the whole AmnesiaJack story. I would also like to find out Parker isn't a Munson, he is Jack's son somehow. Carly and Jack DID have sex in Teague's cabin. Who have missed? |

OK, you asked, so here's what I think... ![]() I'm not in favor of making Sheila Cabot be alive. Not a fan of back from the dead stuff unless it involves James Stenbeck, which of course has gone over into the campy side of town. ![]() Delores might work, if done right. But really, I about had my fill of her in her other visits. ![]() Carly and Jack together would be okay IF their relationship changed in major ways! ![]() I like the idea of Katie and Simon. I would like to see Simon in Oakdale. I would like to see Simon anywhere... ![]() Parker and Liberty should definitely get an annulment and live the lives of teens... I don't care if Liberty continues to be a player in Oakdale, but I'd like to see Parker involved in story, because of his connectins to people in Oakdale. ![]() I don't want Emily to become normal. I to hate Em, and we need some evil women in town.Bob and Kim could retire, but I want Chris back in town. ![]() No brain surgery for Craig. I like him just the way he is, and I never thought he was a "good" guy, even back in the day... Luke and Noah are too young to be married. Anywhere. And they need more life experiences... Not in favor of bringing back a lot of the characters you mention, like Duncan, Jessica and Camille. It would be good to bring back John, especially if Bob retires. I'm not interested in Craig/Meg, Johnny and Eliza. ![]() I like Lily and Damian, and if John comes back, I could see him with Barbara. ![]() I'd be for Holden's death. ![]() I'd rather have JJ go live with his uncle, than to kill him off. He could be valuable in a storyline in the future. ![]() Goutman should definitely be fired. ![]() Tom and Margo... geeze... they need to be completely redone, and I don't know if that's possible. ![]() Casey and Ali could work, but both of them have to have good foundations, careerwise, etc... ![]() So there ya have it.

The Sheila thing for me was a way to get to what you said - to change and fix Carly and Jack's relationship in a major way. To me, in writing this, I was writing it so everyone got a 'happily ever after', and Carly and Jack can't realistically have theirs w/o addressing their childhood issues. ITA about needing to redo Tom and Margo... I just figured based on the premise of the thread there would be no time. |

When it comes to Tom and Margo, I miss their complimentary differences--like Tom's practicality and Margo's impulsiveness, which I talked about a little on another thread (click the underlined text). And when it comes to the cast, I miss the sense of community and connectedness in general. I like knowing how Holden feels about Meg being with Dusty or Paul, because it tells me something about his relationship with his sister. And when he has scenes with Jack, I enjoy that, too. I like that Damian and Noah can have scenes on their own, even if Luke is the subject, because it makes Oakdale feel just a tad less claustrophobic for those few moments. I might spend most of the week at work, but I have a life outside the office. There are different aspects of me, and I wish the characters were treated similarly. Can't Carly and Craig have a run-in with Emily? (Emily and Carly can finish trading insults while freshening up in the restroom, and Emily could make a wisecrack about the way Carly's "boozing it up" with Craig.) Can't Lucy have a chat with Lily, her aunt? Maybe Lucy runs into Damian as she's leaving. And when Lucinda's leaving the hospital after chemo, would it be so bad for her to pass Kim, on her way to meet Bob for lunch, and for Kim to ask how she's doing? And pardon me if this has been done, but I'd like to know how Susan feels about Emily's behavior towards Alison and Casey. And if Susan doesn't know what Emily did, Jade would be the perfect person to tell her while mother and daughter are out together. It might not seem like much, but I think it would be nice. |
