Damian runs into Luke at Memorial. Luke's spent the night with Noah, who's doing better and will be released later on. Damian asks Luke to have lunch with him, and Luke says yeah, but his parents are probably expecting him, so Damian calls Lily and invites Lily and Damian to come to lunch, too. Naturally Holden's against it, but when Lily says she's going, Holden goes with her. :shutup

Jade and Casey are done with their shift of driving seniors around and Alison's done with her shift, so it ends up that Alison and Casey are going to lunch and Ali invites Jade to join them. :biggrin Neither Casey nor Jade can understand why Ali's being so nice, but eventually Jade and Ali come to kind of an understanding, at Casey's expense. :lol :lol Then, while they're eating lunch at Yo's, some hot looking guy is staring at Jade, so Ali encourages her to go over and ask the guy to play pool. Jade's hanging back, but finally does go over and things are looking good until Ali and Casey walk over and Ali notices that the guy's wearing a wedding band! So she and CAsey make sure that the guy admits he's got a wife. He tries to say that she moved out a month ago, but of course Jade isn't going there and tells him to get lost. :2thumbs So then Casey and Ali and Jade are playing pool... and.... :devil

At The Intruder, Lucinda comes to talk to Emily. She tells her that the Intruder will no longer be published, and of course Emily is angry, saying that Lucinda is killing her baby... :shutup Then Lucinda drops the bomb that The Intruder is changing into an online paper. Emily says she can't deal with that, as she's a computer illiterate, but Lucinda says that she's hired somebody who will deal with the technical stuff, and he's in the outer office. They go out to meet... Hunter. Hunter, who promptly falls off his chair, seems he's something of a klutz. Of course Emily isn't impressed, and even less when she asks if Hunter is his first name or his last name and he says it's his last. She asks what his first name is and he says she can just call him Hunter... The subject of Hunter's age comes up between Emily and Lucinda, doesn't bother Lucinda and Hunter is quick to inform Emily about how he graduated college 2 years early with 2 degrees, but.... :shutup Lucinda leaves them to get started on revamping the paper, which doesn't go well. Hunter starts out by telling Emily that The Intruder isn't going to work as the name of an online paper... Emily tells him he's wrong, and so the war begins. :devil Before long they head out for lunch, naturally they go to Yo's. :smack Emily's drinking her lunch a Hunter. Pretty soon Hunter starts to get up and trips over his own feet and kind of falls up against Emily. :lol Then Hunter starts talking about digital newspaper stuff and saying that "the older generation" isn't always on board... of course Emily bristles and asks him exactly how old he thinks she is.... he thinks he'd be smart not to answer, :shutup and Emily agrees...

At the pool table, Alison is watching Emily and thinking that Hunter is her new boy toy. :biggrin When Emily leaves, Ali follows her and asks her what's going on, and tells her that this boy toy is way too young for her.. :devil Emily tells Ali that she's having the worst day of her life, and that Ali's not helping things. Then Emily tells Ali about the changes at The Intruder...

Ali goes back into Yo's and introduces herself to Hunter. She gives him some tips on how to get along with Emily - always agree with her... :shutup Hunter says he'll try that, and then Ali brings Hunter over to join Jade and Casey, trying to play matchmaker again. :devil Hunter walks over and promptly spills some liquid refreshment on Jade, who yells at him... Hunter makes a quick exit. :lol

Jade's so angry at how things are going that she ends up yelling at Ali and Casey and leaving, too. Casey and Ali have to crack up. :lol :lol :lol Casey says, "well, this didn't work so well, did it?" :lol

Hunter goes back to The Intruder and tells Emily that he met her sister, and that she's a lot like Emily, but Emily is more mature. :lol :lol When Emily gets her back up and tells Hunter to leave, he takes Ali's advice and tells Emily that she was right about keeping the name of the paper as The Intruder, and this calms Emily down to the point where she agrees that Hunter can come back tomorrow. :shutup

The Snyder/Grimaldi lunch doesn't go well. :devil As soon as Lily and Holden learn that Damian's staying in town, and that Luke asked him to stay, Holden gets up and leaves, but Luke goes after him and tells him that Holden is the only father Luke wants, but that Luke feels as if he needs to get to know Damian better, to know more about himself... so the two men come to a tentative agreement and walk back to Lily and Damian. Lily's been getting angry with Damian for staying in town, and finally Damian says that she should just tell him what to do - should he go or should he stay?

As Lily's saying that he shouldn't put her in that position, she has to think about Holden, Holden walks up and says not to worry about him, he's okay with Damian staying, but that Damian had better not ever hurt Luke... :waiting Then Holden leaves and Lily's right behind him. :smack

So now it's Luke and Damian. Luke gets a call from the bank. Apparently the fund transfer that Lily made has gone through. The bank can get it back, but it'll take time and meanwhile, the Foundation has committed funds to several organizations, and those organizations will suffer... so Damian says that he'll fund the organization until the money gets recovered. Luke makes sure that Damian won't try and tell him how to run the Foundation, and when he gets that reassurance, he accepts Damian's help. Later, though, Holden and Lily aren't as glad to hear the news. :waiting

After Luke leaves, Holden tries to bully Lily into making Damian withdraw his financial offer, but she won't. Holden snarls, "even if I ask you to, for us?" and when Lily doesn't immediately say yes, he says, "I guess I have my answer" and storms off... :puke

Lucinda's learned that Damian's staying in town, and doesn't waste any time going to see Damian and trying to lay down the law on how he should behave... he tells her that while he respects her, she's not his mother in law anymore so he doesn't have to listen to her. :lol :lol

I had one major gripe with the show today. Lucinda has nothing to do with WorldWide anymore. She first sold it to Paul who then ended up selling it to Dusty. So there is no way that Lucinda could have done all of this with The Intruder. She's not the boss anymore :cuss

Hunter was funny for a day but this schtick will get old real fast.

I liked the story surrounding Damian much better today because it was all about relationships. Too bad it probably won't stay that way. And Luke was acting more like he used to be and more mature and enjoyable. I like the Damian/Luke dynamic. It would be nice if they don't mess that up.

I was more impressed with HOLDEN during the episode today. I think he should feel threatened. I think he should state the obvious about DAMIAN.

Yes..I am enjoying LUKE and DAMIAN. I think it would be difficult ( IRL ) for someone like DAMIAN to turn around and be so supportive and loving of his gay son. I do believe that DAMIAN is showing some genuine feelings....but I would assume that he is up to some type of no good.

I enjoyed LUCINDA and felt she had all the right to limit THE INTRUDER.

HUNTER....I am impressed with his first day's performance. Out of all of the newbies younger types...he seems more confident jumping right in and being his character. When I read in the article that ROGERD provided that HUNTER was going to be geeky....I was wondering if HUNTER was so good at what he accomplished that the geekdom that I expected was surpassed to the point that I did not even consider him a geek at all. THAT might cause problems in the long run.

EMILY and HUNTER....I like them together. They tend to compliment each other. EMILY is a GEEK in her OWN WORLD...so I think the TWO GEEKS could actually be a good coupling. And they are not really GEEKS....they are SEASONED GEEKS WITH COOL ATTITUDE at least in the WORK WORLD.

And now my thoughts about CARLY....

All of this chatter about CARJACK...destruction or not....I AM A MAURA WEST FAN...CARLY is a new favorite of mine. I have always thought that she was a NEWBIE and I have at times wondered WHY so much AIRTIME was even given to MW. Probably in the same vein as CRAIG-JL receiving so much airtime, now.

I accepted the fact CARJACK was a supercouple...but I do know MANY PEOPLE that stopped watching ATWT regularly once MW entered the scene and became so dominant. The character of CARLY ushered in the BAD SUPER STAR into Oakdale.

I would be much happier if the old fashion GOOD GUYS and BAD GUYS still existed in OAKDALE...but once CARLY became so popular....tptb pretty much began to mess with ALL of the characters of OAKDALE.

The REAL VETS still tend to be themselves...and are either GOOD or BAD....but since CARLY entered OAKDALE...many of the seasoned characters have their good and bad moments...and the actors probably welcomed the changes just so that they could sink their acting teeth in performing GOOD and BAD.

I would probably dislike this soap MORE if these changes did not occur. To think that JULIA LINDSAY was such a GOOD PERSON FOREVER and EVER....ooooh....MyPRINCESS....just would not cut it.

The writing sucks...but thank G that the ACTING is SO SUPERB.

This was a good show because it was about relationships, both family and friends and it worked well. As far as the IntruderI could believe that Lucinda retained some involvement with the newspaper part of WW and anyway Dusty has had no interest in work since helping Lucy. :rolleyes so why not Lucinda? Plus it was wonderful to see Liz Hubbard, especially with Paolo. Great scene!

The only thing that angered me was Holden. Again he's playing the heavy, devil's advocate, annoying pest, whatever..... :waiting I especially hated the way he tried to force Lily to give up her job with the Foundation. He seemed o.k. with Damian providing money and working with Luke but he couldn't handle him working with Lily in any way as if he would come between them or try to. Lily didn't say it but it was like Dusty all over again! :cuss I can understand Lucinda's ambivalence but Holden needs to give up these insecurities and even if he doesn't trust Damian he can trust his wife! :mad But those Snyder men and their women..... :devil Whenever they show Holden and DAmian in the same scene its like High Noon, "this town ain't big enough for the both of us." Interesting 'cause I'm sure tptb are thinking that same thing and will probably give Jon fewer scenes due to the cost cutting on the show. :hmm

Rich, I agree with your assessment of the show. And Holden, well, he's just beyond description sometimes, as are all the Snyder men... :smack

flashy, your post kind of had me :huh ... first, what's the obvious about Damian that you think Holden should state? :huh I do agree that Holden should be very afraid, because he's self-destructing pretty rapidly...

As for Maura West... I am totally in the dark... you think that many people stopped watching the show when she came on????? :huh :huh :huh You thought she was a newbie???? :huh :huh :huh Uh, no wonder you weren't a Carly fan... :lol :lol I think you must have been watching a different show. :shutup

Seriously, though, I'm glad you now are a fan of MW, she's really a talent, and of all the things about the show I'll miss when it eventually meets the fate of all soaps, it is Maura... :muchlove

I almost EDITED my post above...but decided against it.

The MISSING OPERATIVE WORD is "WHEN MAURA WEST was a newbie"....

And MW is a favorite of most of the fans in this website...but my mom and her friends started to NOT WATCH ATWT once MW entered Oakdale. The more CARLY...the less they watched.
