Brad and Katie come upon Henry and Vienna at the Mall. Henry's showing Vienna all the cute baby things that he bought, and of course Katie is hurt and Brad's angry, Henry and Vienna feel guilty.... Henry and Vienna go to work at Metro and Katie gets a phone call about getting over to the station for something... At the station, Katie breaks down when Joe starts recording her for the reality show about the baby stuff.  Henry and Vienna are behind the bar at Metro, talking about the sad situation with the baby when a guy sitting at the bar hands them his card. He's a lawyer, specializing in adoption, and has a pregnant mother who needs her baby to be adopted.  Henry thinks this is a great idea, and wants to tell Katie and Brad about it right away, but Vienna thinks they need to think about this.... Craig's brought Johnny over to Carly's after school, and it ends up that Carly decides they should invite Craig's family over to eat dinner with her family. After all, she's making a huge pot roast. Craig calls Katie, who congratulates him for being out of jail and having Johnny, but says she can't make it. Margo, though, accepts the invitation.  It turns out that Parker's been skipping school. Liberty finds him at Java and confronts him about that, and he says it's none of her business, it's his life. When Liberty gets home, she tells Janet about Parker and the school skipping, and of course Janet calls Jack and asks him to meet her at Carly's. It's about Parker, and it's important, she says, so Jack reluctantly agrees to meet her.  Margo gets to Carly's, with flowers, and sits down with Craig and Carly to drink a toast to Craig's life being changed for the better. Carly's drinking cola.  But then Margo gets a call from Brad, begging her to come to WOAK to help Katie calm down. Margo takes off, asking for a rain check, and once she's gone, Carly tells Craig that they're still celebrating "normal life", and pours herself some champagne. Just about then, Jack and Janet show up and Parker comes downstairs. Jack grabs him and confronts him about skipping school. Parker doesn't want to hear anything his parents OR Craig have to say, and takes off.... Jack tells Carly that if she hadn't started drinking again (the champagne) maybe she'd know that Parker wasn't going to school. This starts a little yelling match between Jack and Carly until Janet tells them to be quiet and focus on Parker and not attack each other. Still, when Jack leaves, he tells Carly that if she's not able to deal with Parker, he'll have to take over..  Henry goes over to Brad and Katie's and talks to Brad, and gives him the lawyer's card. He says that the father is a Harvard graduate, but that Brad shouldn't worry, just make sure to expose the kid to sports.  Henry says that they need to move quickly if they want to have a chance to adopt the baby.Katie actually listens to Brad, and has him call the lawyer, who's still at Metro. The lawyer arranges to come to their house immediately.  Henry and Vienna are hopeful that things will work out with the adoption lawyer, and that maybe it will bring the 2 couples back together as friends. Brad and Katie tell the lawyer they want to meet the expectant mother, and he says sure, but I need $10,000 real money first. Katie and Brad write the check right away. Craig admits to Carly that he thinks Jack is right, and that giving Parker the money for the car was a mistake, and contributed to him playing hookey. But, Craig says, if Carly tells Jack, Craig will deny it.  Dinner's over and Carly's obviously feeling the effects of the champagne, AND of the confrontation with Parker and Jack. Carly goes into the kitchen and Craig spots the insurance form that Carly needs to fill out to add Parker to her insurance. Craig mutters, "Here's something I can do..." Parker storms into Emma's kitchen and argues with Liberty about ratting him out. He says that now, she's not his wife, AND, she's not even a friend! Jack and Janet get home and Jack says that he's going to do what he should have done before - take away Parker's car keys! Janet approves.

 So much potential with a family gathering...but of course we only get the crap. Just the HINT of having CARLY and CRAIG's families together..... CARLY, CRAIG, JOHNNY, PARKER, SAGE, JJ should be home, JACK, LIBERTY, JANET, MARGO, KATIE, TOM, BRAD, CASEY, ALLISON, BARBARA, DUSTY..... |

Honestly, flashy, when that comment was made on yesterday's show about the 2 families coming together for dinner, I was both and because really, come on.....

Well, me, too... The first thought that crossed my brainwaves...so the FAMILY GATHERING card is pulled out the day after StLUCY leaves the show. All we get to see is USUALLY the ISSUES for CRAIG and CARLY and PARKER and JACK... Seeing BANGsonJANET...JANET was pretty...but does she look too much like MEG now?? |

Its so ridiculous that Katie and Brad would just give this lawyer $10,000 and not even get some kind of official document and go through their own lawyer, Tom. It reminds us of course of Craig's illegal adoption though at that time I think Craig knew it was illegal and didn't care. I don't think Bratie are interested in doing anyting illegal, just QUICK, hence the name of the lawyer. I would have thought Katie would have remembered what happened with Craig and Rosanna and be more cautious but since she's barely speaking to him I guess it would have not come up anyway in conversation. Wouldn't be surprised if the Craig and Rosanna incident comes up after Bratie loses all that money! Now its not even about tptb forgetting history...they just use whatever history works in the moment. We get Margo telling Katie how she needs this baby because she always wanted a normal home , while on the road with Lyla and because her father died when she was young. But why bother having the suspicious "lawyer" come up in a convo between Margo and Katie and then Margo having Tom look into it? Then there would be no story!  For JP the only action that helps the story is a stupid one!Where tptb are getting it right is the contrast of Carly as a parent with Janet. Carly thought Parker was back in school and going to baseball practice but was not speaking to him at all. Meanwhile Janet clearly knows what homework Liberty has and checks up on her. It would be too easy to blame it on the drinking to explain why Carly is in the dark about her son. Its just that Parker is not the same reliable, hardworking kid and she is not able to cope with that. Of course it would be easier to discipline him if he did not have that car.
