Overwhelmed after learning that Parker quit school, a drunken Carly continues to rant to Craig, taking out all her angst with her life on him. In between blaming him for everything, she yells at him to get out, but he says he's not going anywhere, and when she asks him why he's there, he says it's because he's crazy about her. :muchlove

Parker's gone to the diner to tell Jack about quitting school and Jack is remarkably calm about it, but tells Parker he needs to figure out what he's going to do now. Parker seems at a loss, and says that he'll have his trust fund. But Jack says he can't access it until he's 21, and asks Parker if he expects his parents to support him... Parker looks kind of shellshocked, as he probably hasn't given this much thought at all. Anyway, Jack says that no matter what, Jack will always be his father, and be there for him....

Parker goes home and when Carly tries to press him to talk to her, he takes off again... :smack Carly thinks she's going to to get him, in her car, but Craig refuses to allow that. She asks him when he turned into Jack, and says she knows what "that look means".... Carly continues her melt down, but finally admits that she can't drive in the shape she's in, and Craig tells her to go upstairs and lay down. As she's going upstairs, she turns to Craig and asks him, "Do you think less of me?" to which Craig answers, "Of course not!" :muchlove

Jack tells Janet about Parker quitting school and later, Janet tells Liberty, who freaks and blames herself, and insists on calling Parker. They meet at Java, and Liberty tries to talk him into going back to school... :waiting Parker doesn't want to hear what Liberty has to say, and reverts to pouty, feeling sorry for himself, blaming Liberty for everything - Parker. :smack

Now, on a lighter note... :wacko Casey's called Ali and had her come over, he's got a big date planned. They're going to paint the wooden flower boxes. :huh :huh :huh Ali's not in favor it this, but Casey's charm wins her over, so they get started... Ali's wanting to listen to music but realizes she's got Emily's ipod, so calls Emily, who says she'll messenger Ali's over to her. Instead, Hunter brings it over. :smack Hunter's only been there a short time when Casey gets a call from Jade, calling in her favor about one of their cantankerous patients... so Casey has to leave for awhile.

Practically as soon as Casey leaves, Hunter asks Ali out. :gaah She can't believe that he hasn't realized that she and Casey are dating, so she lays it out for him. Hunter gets it, and in his embarassment, he trips and ends up with paint all over himself. :smack He goes back to Emily's office, and she tells him to take off his shirt and she'll get him another one. (she keeps men's shirts in the office? :huh :huh ) Naturally, a shirtless Hunter ends up kissing Emiy, who's shocked, to say the least. Hunter asks her if she didn't like the kiss, and she says there's so much wrong with it she doesn't know where to start... :lol Hunter is at his bumbling best, saying he doesn't know what came over him, he just felt like kissing her.... :smack They start talking, and FTLOG, it sounds as if Emily is planning to "socialize" Hunter. :rolleyes

Casey's back and the painting continues, and Ali tells him what happened with Hunter. Casey thinks it's hilarious, and Ali says it's time for him to live up to his promise and take her to lunch, and then she calls Emily and asks to speak to Hunter. Then, Ali invites Hunter to lunch with her and Casey. He accepts, but when Emily hears that Casey's going to be at lunch with Hunter and Ali, she tells him that means that Ali just wants to be friends with him. :biggrin

Carly's upstairs when Jack shows up. Craig lets him in, and Jack asks Craig if he can talk to Carly about Parker. Craig says that Carly's upstairs asleep. Jack starts to go upstairs but Craig stops him, and asks Jack if he wants to leave a message for Carly. :shutup Jack's pretty surprised, and says oh, well, if Carly's beauty sleep is more important than our son.... :waiting Craig sternly tells Jack that he should never come into this house and accuse Carly of putting herself before her children. He tells Jack that if what he has to say is so important, he'll tell Craig, who can pass it on to Carly, instead of using it as an excuse to come to the house and undermine Carly. In the next breath, though, Craig apologizes to Jack for sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. :clap :clap :clap

Jack leaves and a calmer, and seemingly more sober, Carly comes downstairs. Craig tells her that Jack was there and that Craig told Jack that Carly has a migraine. Carly thanked him, and apologized for her behavior. Craig asks her if she minds if he pours out the rest of the liquor, and she asks him to please do it. Craig does, with Carly standing behind him, with an anxious look on her face. :cry

Craig asks if he can make her something to eat, but she says no, thanks, she just wants to go upstairs and sleep. As Craig gets ready to leave, she tells him that a lot of what she said to him today, she didn't mean. She tells him emotionally, that he's always been there for her, and that she thanks him. She gives him a little kiss and he leaves, and Carly wastes no time in going to the kitchen and pouring herself a drink from a bottle she's had hidden under the sink. She gulps it down.... :cry

Janet's on a break and comes to the station to see how things went with Carly. Jack says he doesn't know, since Carly was in bed with a migraine and Craig was there. He did say that Craig had apologized for butting into their affairs, and Janet thinks that's nice, but Jack says that, first of all, it's too late, and secondly, he doesn't know if Craig's sincere. :hmm

Hunter walks up to Al's but sees Casey and Ali kissing, inside, and, feeling stupid, walks away... :cry

I really like Carly and Craig. Watching her with him, she's so much her old self again. I know, I know, her old self was a liar, conniver, and all that stuff - but she acts that so well, I just love it. I hated the timid, grovelling Carly they've made her out to be around Jack. (And don't get me started on Jack.....!) And I know Craig is all kinds of horrible things, but the way Jon is playing him, I just see the human behind the beast and I'm really enjoying that too.
I can't believe as a CarJacker I'm actually saying this, but I am. Even 6 months ago, I probably couldn't have, but today's another day!!

Craig got played like a fiddle today. Carly's whole routine when she came back downstairs was to get him out of her house so she could get some more vodka which she wasted no time doing when he left. He fell for the act hook, line and sinker. And while Craig thought he was doing her a favor the worst thing he could do was not tell Jack what was going on. What if the next time a drunk Carly goes to get behind the wheel he isn't around to take the keys? What if she has Sage in the car? Carly obviously has a serious problem and covering for her was the worst thing he could do. Craig and Jack need to put aside their differences and help Carly. Anyone who covers for her is only harming her.

I will give Craig credit that he got 2 things right. Jack did finally realize that tough love wasn't going to work with Parker and perhaps Jack didn't really tell Parker he would support him until he was 21. I heard Jack say what a dumb idea he thought this was and that he specifically wasn't going to foot the bill until Parker is 21 and then talk about the trouble he'd have finding a job. I think Jack finally realized that Parker is going to have to learn this for himself. Sadly when Jack said he would always be there for Parker, I think Parker took that to mean financially which is exactly what Jack didn't mean. :pullhair

It's hard to watch the destruction of Carly but Maura was phenomenal.

I also thought it was fun they got in the little shout out to Billy's band, "The Dash rocks!" :shutup

I'm really not liking Hunter. Too campy for me and I fear we are about to have the annual Emily and her boy toy story. KMH deserves better than that.

I really hate seeing "Carly" in this role again, but as you said, Maura is phenomenal and of course I can't say enough about Jon L's talent and the way he plays in his scenes with her. :woot

Campy. That's the perfect word to describe Hunter's klutzyness, and it's a shame, as I like the guy. :pullhair As for the contrived storylines for Casey and Alison.... PUHLEASE!!!!! :gaah

HUNTER....Campy? I understand what you mean....but CLUELESS...but in an ungeeky way.

CAMPY CASEY...now that sounds and looks right.

And PARKER....I agree with LIBERTY...It is DEFINITELY HARD watching him play out this script. WHY is JJ in boarding school when PARKER is the better candidate for being there? PARKER could definitely be a GOOD JOCK and SUPER SMART...but why take him this way?

I find Hunter refreshing because he's the only twentysomething on the show who does not seem to have a checkered past. No criminal background etc. like all the others :devil The problem is there is no storyline potential romantically with Emily cause she's through with boy toys (so she says) and it would be too similar to the arc with Casey, he can't be paired with Ali cause she's with Casey and Jade can't stand him. So far we've learned how awkward he is. The next step would be to introduce a new chick for him to meet but tiic are too economical to do that so who's left? Liberty? :smack While they're at it, introduce a new love interest for Emily, a rich forty-something. :hmm

Seems Carly and Parker are both troubled and need help but would rather be left alone. Tough love might work for Parker and help him to realize how much of an idiot he is, but I agree with Judy Jack needs to know what's happening so he can help her in order to protect Sage. Craig's covering for Carly only earns him points with her, it does not help her recognize that she is an alcoholic. :cry
