When the lawyer, Mr Quick, doesn't show up on time with the teenaged mother, Brad tries calling him and learns that the number isn't in service anymore.  Katie calls Tom, who tells her that this Mr Quick has been investigated for shady practices.... in fact, he was disbarred... (I kind of dozed off from sheer bordom...  ) If Katie and Brad primping for their interview wasn't  and enough, we have Vienna and Henry, taking home movies of each other and the unborn child, who has now aquired a list of possible names a mile long.  When Henry tells Vienna that he ran into Brad and Brad told him they had a meeting set up with Mr Quick, Vienna gets all excited and decides she wants to give Katie a gift, a mom and baby look alike set of t-shirts.... she decides she'll go to WOAK and Henry says he'll get a gift for Brad and take that over to the house...  By now Katie and Brad have fallen to pieces, and in fact Katie is downright psychotic, screaming at Brad and telling him not to touch her...she's going to WORK to take her mind off of it...  When Katie gets to WOAK, Vienna's there waiting for her. This pushes Katie even further over the edge, and she screams at Vienna that the lawyer is a fake and it was a scam! Vienna is horrified, and feels terrible, she keeps apologizing and asking what she can do, but Katie just yells at her to leave, and tells Vienna that, "You stole from me! You let us fall in love with this baby, and then you stole it from us!"  Katie rushes toward her office and Vienna's right behind her, but trips on one of the studio lights and falls to the floor, landing on her stomach! Katie rushes to her side, and Vienna's trying to calm herself down with "deep cleansing breaths" but something's wrong, and an ambulance is called. Katie tells Vienna that she'll take care of her...  Henry's gotten the same treatment from Brad that Vienna got from Katie, and Brad tosses him out.... Henry finds a poker game to win $10,000 so he can pay this back to Katie and Brad. Meg's working on cruise stuff with Damian and telling him more about what happened with Paul and how he got custody of Eliza. Damian feels awful for her.  Meg finishes up and ends up with Dusty. She brings HIM up to speed about deciding to fight for Eliza. Dusty's proud of her and they end up going to Yo's and playing pool and talking about the good old days...  Paul's spending time at the mall with Eliza when he sees Sally, the babysitter! She's back in town... he hustles her out of the mall, but not before Damian sees them. Damian follows them to Fairwinds. He explains his presence to Paul by saying he left a valuable piece of furniture in the attic when he moved out of Fairwinds, and now has a chance to sell it. It's important and has to be done immediately, as, sad to say, Damian's short on cash.  Paul keeps trying to get rid of him, since Sally's hiding in another room, but Damian insists on going up to the attic. Later, Damian lurks in the background while Paul yells at Sally for coming back from South America.  Sally says she's missing her mother and besides, she's out of money. So Paul offers her $20,000 but she holds out for $50,000, which Paul agrees to, under the condition that she leave town and never return. They agree to meet in a short time, as soon as Paul can get cash, at the diner. Paul calls his bank and while he's doing that, Damian calls Meg and tells her what's going on. Dusty gets on the phone and asks Damian if he can stall Paul. Damian answers, "Of course!"  So now Damian walks up to Paul and starts kind of a ridiculous conversation,  and then hauls off and slugs Paul, knocking him out. Meg finds Sally at the diner and confronts her. Sally rushes out the door, but Dusty's there and grabs her. Meg calls Damian and tells him that they've got Sally! Damian says that he's with Eliza and Paul is "indisposed", should he bring Eliza to Meg? Meg says they've got to do everything by the book, so no.... So, just then Paul comes to, and Damian tells him that it's all over, they know what he did, and then he hands Paul some ice for his jaw. Meg and Dusty are thanking Damian for what he did, and it's time to give a statement at the police station!  At the hospital, Vienna's in bed, a nervous wreck, not knowing if the baby is alright or not... Katie tries to calm her down, but she keeps asking for Henry. Brad's there, too, and has been trying to get ahold of Henry, but Henry's not picking up.... Vienna goes for an ultrasound, with Katie there at her side....  At Fairwinds, Paul tells Eliza to take a last look around, grabs passports and leaves.... Really, Henry and Vienna, Katie and Brad, are all looking so bad in various ways. This one storyline has done damage to all of them.  Damian was the high point for me today, especially when he slugged Paul. Meg, Meg, Meg! How stupid can she be????? "do things by the book"  Come on, she knows how Paul operates.... she should have told Damian to take the baby and run! |

I think the most damage has been done to Katie. She's back to her old self, as far as I'm concerned - selfish and just all about herself. I thought maybe she'd changed, but since the baby stuff came out, she's just shown her true colours again. I didn't like her before and I'm liking her even less now. Kudos to Terri though, she's playing it really well. |

I do love this cast!!! I wish I could figure out how to blot out the storylines. For me....DAMIAN was SUPER GOOD!! Even though I HATE KATIE's purpose in this storyline...I did enjoy watching her. VIENNA and HENRY were great but so much better than some of the dialogue. PAUL and DUSTY...Thank G that DAMIAN stepped up to the plate to visit PAUL because if that had been DUSTY...I think I would be ready for DUSTY in ORANGE (jail fatigues). And then there's MEG..... |
