Alison's graduating from nursing school with a special award, "Most Improved Student".  When Casey finds out, he decides that she needs to have a family celebration, so he goes to see Emily and talks her into making reservations at The Lakeview tonight for Susan, Emily, Casey and Ali. Then Casey goes back to Memorial and arranges for Ali to get off duty and he takes her shopping at Fashions to buy her a special dress, using his family discount. Lisa assures him that yes, it's a really big discount.  Paul calls Barbara to go to the airport and he'd call her and tell her where to go, and to bring the cash.  Lisa overhears Barbara on the phone with Paul, and doesn't waste any time calling Damian. At the time, Damian's at Holden's giving Meg a pep talk about how sure he is that she'll have Eliza back soon. When he gets Lisa's call, he and Barbara grab their coats. Damian has contacts at the airport that can tell them where Barbara's going...  Paul tries to get Rosanna to watch Eliza without giving her any information, but she knows him, and asks him what's really going on!  He never does tell her, but she agrees to babysit Eliza anyway. When Hunter learns that Ali's getting a special award, he's really happy for her, and even happier when he finds out that Emily's arranging a family dinner. He tells Emily to get Ali a cake..."cakes are celebretory..." Then he asks Emily if she's contacted Ali's dad, and Emily just says that "No, nobody has gotten around to contacting the eminent Dr Larry McDermott..." ... Emily leaves the office to make arrangements and Hunter makes some arrangements of his own... Barbara shows up at the little airport wherever Paul is, and she's got the money. Paul sees her and is about to walk up to her when he spots Damian and Meg, they duck behind a building, but it's too late.  Paul is furious and calls Babs and accuses her of betraying her. Although she denies doing that, she realizes that somehow Lisa has figured things out... Paul tells her that Meg and Damian are there, and he throws away his cell phone....Barbara yells for Meg and Damian to "come out, he knows you're here!" so they do and Meg and Babs start arguing about whose side Babs is really on... Damian things they should go back to Oakdale, but Meg whines, "How can you expect me to leave, when we're so close to Eliza?"  Paul goes back to the country store and thanks Rosanna for babysitting. Rosanna tells him to have a happy life back in Oakdale, and Paul admits that "I don't really have anyplace to go..." Rosanna  .... Paul tells her that things aren't going well between him and Meg, and that she doesn't really know where he and Eliza are... Rosanna says, "Tell me you didn't kidnap this baby!" Paul says that he's got full custody, the courts declared Meg an unfit mother... Rosanna gasps, "Meg Snyder an unfit mother? How the hell did you pull that off?" Rosanna presses Paul for details about what happened in his marriage to Meg, and he says that it turned out that he wasn't the only person that Meg would love forever... Naturally, Paul is spinning things to make himself look good and Meg look like a PITA... Rosanna can understand problems in relationships, but still can't believe that Meg is an unfit mother. She realizes after awhile that Paul is running because he's afraid that he'll lose Eliza. He says he's never loved anybody like he loves Eliza. Rosanna understands, but says she shouldn't get involved. Paul begs her to let him and Eliza stay with her... Paul talks and talks and talks, but Rosanna still tells him she isn't getting involved.  Ali, wearing her new dress, walks out of Fashions with Casey. She says she needs a moment to sit down, and just savor the moment... so they do for awhile, and finally Ali takes a deep breath and tells CAsey she's ready... Casey says good, cause he's hungry. Barbara, Damian and Meg are back in Oakdale and Meg and Babs are still arguing. Barbara tells Meg that she's being unrealistic to expect Babs to chose between Paul and Eliza.... Damian tries to be a peacekeeper, and Babs promises to let them know if Paul contacts her again. Meg doesn't believe a word of it, though, and says that as long as Eliza's with Paul, her life is in danger. Damian and Meg leave and Barbara spots Lisa and grabs her arm, saying, "You and I, my friend, are going to have a long talk... " Babs tells Lisa that she was trying to get Eliza back, but that thanks to Lisa, the plan fell through. At The Lakeview, Ali, Casey and Emily are having drinks and Emily makes a toast to Ali. Suddenly Hunter shows up, lurking in the background. Emily goes over to him and asks him what he's doing there. He says that he came to stand guard in case Ali's dad actually shows up.... Emily's trying to get rid of him, but Ali insists that he stay... suddenly, Ali freezes... standing in the doorway is Dr Larry McDermott! He walks up and asks if he can give his daughter a hug, and starts to reach for Ali, but she tells him, "Stop!" I'm really liking Rosanna this time around, she seems to have undergone a personality transplant.  Or else there's valium in all that organic produce.  Here's something I wonder about... how many times have YOU had a guy take you shopping to buy you a dress for a special occasion, an occasion that is happening immediately, and you're straight from work, and you end up finding a dress and wearing it out of the store and going straight to the celebration?  I must have missed why Susan isn't there with the rest of the family... Work? Damian already looks Megwhipped...

LOL LOL LOL - you really made me chuckle on that one!!! Yeah, like that happens to me EVERYDAY!!! The only part of the show that remotely interested me today was Emily and Hunter. I kind of like their dynamic - not as lovers, just as the way they are right now. This saintly Alison is just becoming boring to me, and I really like Alison. And Meg, oh for heaven's sakes - how many men does it take to help Meg Snyder survive???? Honestly, looks like another one bites the MegDust in Oakdale. Do you think they'll ever let this woman stand up on her own, or is every guy just destined to prop her storylines??? |

Ali, I fear that Meg is just going to keep on ruining men forever. I liked Emily and Hunter's back and forth, too, and I was picking up that they enjoy working with each other....

I thought today was one of the most boring episodes ever  It's great to see Larry back but Susan should have been there when he walked in. (She'll be on tomorrow. They could have said she was running late but Emily already said it had to be early because Susan has to go to work later. I'm guessing they didn't want to pay Marie for another day.) And couldn't they have at least invited Tom and Margo too for the dinner or something to make it a bigger deal? Hunter is just too cartoonish for me so his scenes just seem stupid. I'm not liking this version of Rosanna at all. I'd much prefer feisty Rosanna like she used to be with Craig than this mellow version. It seems to me like she's still in her coma and is sleepwalking If they pair her with Paul again I suggest they be called PRozac. They are that boring. I felt like Roger was yelling in some scenes to try to keep himself awake.I hat seeing Damian being played like a fool. No way would he have been so careless that Paul would have spotted him.  Meg has just become unbearable. Nothing entertaining about that. Barbara was the only one semi-watchable.Sadly tomorrow doesn't look any better. |

I enjoyed ROSANNA...I think I like seeing a calm cool ROSANNA enter and then she can start SPITTING FIRE and throwing empty MIDNIGHT SUN vodka bottles at CRAIG... CASEY....It is one thing to be poor and live simply...but to then snag a dress from Grandma?? I don't see anything sweet about it. |

This thing with men in Oakdale buying women dresses just bugs the heck out of me! Of course there was Casey yesterday, and didn't Dusty buy somebody a dress, in the past? I can't remember if it was Meg or Jennifer? It's just so, oh, cavemanish, somehow, to me...

I think Casey buying Ali the dress is supposed to be part of their courtship and jewelry would have been good enough. But I'm not sure then they would have gone to Fashions. It would be more believable for Ali to go shopping with a close girlfriend but she doesn't have any unless we count Jade! I know Goutman directed but it was confusing for me at the airfield. When Paul was talking to Barbara it looked like he was on the other side of the same building. So if Meg and Damian were following, they should have been able to sneak up behind Paul on the other side while P and B were talking. This point is proven when the sound of Paul's phone was so clear after he threw it away and they called him. It could have been more believable if they were shown walking around for a while and then finding the phone but they all stood at the same place in that scene!

Rich, all that airport stuff was messed up! For one thing, Babs must have flown a private plane to that small airport. And it was all set up so fast.... then, how did Meg and Damian get there? And I'm getting  with Paul's socalled car problems. That car doesn't look that old, why is it having so many problems?
