He's finished work, and his big grin gives it away to Jade that he and Ali have finally "made it over the hump". Ali's busy finding Hunter and thanking him for inviting her dad to her graduation dinner. Things turned out okay, and actually, it brought her and Casey "closer". She ends up inviting Hunter to the BBQ and says he can bring somebody if he wants, and that this time, the BBQ isn't a "set up". Hunter ends up inviting Jade, well, she kind of invites herself to go with him, and they show up together, to the surprise of Ali and Casey. Hunter's eager to show off his BBQing skills, after all, he's been researching the subject online. Jade and Ali are starting to get a little closer, or at least it seems that way. Who knows with Jade, though? Margo gets a package in the mail. When she sees that it's from Afghanistan, she calls the bomb expert at the station and asks him if it's okay to open it. Will it blow up? Since it isn't ticking, the expert says it's safe, so she opens it. Inside she finds Adam's sweater, a watch of his, and his wallet. She calls Tom. Tom arrives and they wonder what Adam's stuff was doing in Kabul... Of course, it stands to reason that Adam was there, too. Tom calls somebody from the embassy, and they meet him at The Lakeview. He comes right out with it...he's got bad news. Adam was working at an aid station in Kabul when a suicide bomber blew everything up, and nobody survived. Margo and Tom go home, zombielike, and walk right past Casey and his friends. Casey asks what's going on and Tom grinds his teeth and says, "It's Adam..." Casey is angry that even now his brother is ruining his life, his fun, and goes into the house, angry .... he says that his parents have always let Adam do whatever he wants.... Tom tells Casey... "Adam's dead!" Jade and Hunter have left, but Casey goes outside and tells Ali that Adam's dead. She leaves him alone with his family, after hugging him, and he goes inside to find out more about what happened. Ali finds Hunter and Jade at Java, and tells them that Adam was killed in Kabul. Jade gulps, after all, she and Jade were together once, even though it wasn't anything real.... she says that Adam was evil, which totally confuses Hunter, but Ali says that this isn't the time... for explanations. Ali gets a call from Casey. He's on the roof of the hospital and she goes to meet him. Meanwhile, at home, Tom and Margo are comforting each other and remembering Adam.... In another storyline.... Katie is suffering from morning sickness, but sees Brad sticking a little wrapped gift box under the couch cushions when she walks into the room. She asks him to go get her tea cup and when he's gone she looks at the pkg. It's addressed to Gina... Oh no, she gasps, he's having an affair! Brad tells her he's got to go out, and as soon as he does, Katie calls Vienna. Vienna and Henry are together, Henry's just donated that $10,000 he won gambling, to an organization for kids. He's doing better, but still isn't ready to be friends with Brad and Katie... Katie tells Vienna that "my life is over, meet me at Java!" So Vienna tells Henry that Katie is still her friend, and she's got to go take her some soup cause Katie's sick.... Katie tells Vienna that Brad's meeting Gina at Al's and asks Vienna to go spy for her, so Vienna does, and what she sees convinces her that Brad is indeed cheating on Katie. Vienna goes to give Katie the bad news, and Katie says that's it, her marriage is over, she's leaving, and she wants Vienna to go with her. Of course Vienna says she will, and goes home to pack. Henry finds her packing and thinks she's leaving him, but she says that Katie's leaving Brad and that she's going with her. Vienna leaves to meet Katie and Henry goes to Brad's and slugs him. Eventually, Brad and Henry get the story straight.... Gina is a pregnant woman who wants to give her baby up for adoption and Brad's trying to convince her that he and Katie would be the perfect parents... He didn't want to tell Katie until he knew it was a done deal. Henry calls Vienna but she keeps hanging up on him, but finally she listens to him, and he tells her that Katie has it all wrong, and to keep her there. He and Brad catch up with Katie and Vienna at Old Town and after a bunch of mixed signals, it all comes out. Katie's pregnancy, Gina, the unwed mother... everything.... Henry and Vienna go home, and Vienna hopes that Henry is okay with Katie's pregnancy. At their place, Brad and Katie sit down on the couch, and Brad makes Katie promise to let him take care of her, and their baby... Margo and Tom decide to have a memorial for Adam. Margo's afraid that nobody will come, as they all hated Adam, but Tom says that they have to remember the good things about Adam, and he did have those good things... Up on the roof of Memorial, a distraught CAsey tells Ali that he and Adam never got a chance to move past where they were, with Casey hating Adam, and now, they never will. What a difference in storylines today! I was drawn into the Margo/Tom/Adam/Casey one, and through the baby stuff, but I have to say that now I'm wondering if Henry and Vienna might end up with Gina's baby... And what a total loser Katie is.

The story surrounding Adam was really good and then they had to keep interrupting it with the idiotic story of Katie the town idiot. If they wanted to lighten the mood from time to time they could have done that from time to time with Hunter, Jade and Ali. I would much rather have seen more of Tom and Margo and especially them telling some of the family and perhaps remember Adam as a teen and younger when everybody loved him. Sadly though I don't think this story is really about Adam at all and instead is kicking off another story that has nothing to do with Tom and Margo Seeing in the previews that nobody that was connected to Adam or related to Tom or Margo or even firends of thers is there but Luke and Noah are has me furious and tells me what the story is about ultimately I too wondered if Henry and Vienna will end up with Gina's baby but I don't think JP wants them to have a baby so I'm guessing not. Both Katie and Brad were beyond obnoxious and a total waste of space and time. Ellen, Scott and Billy were all excellent today.

Advanced Member Posts: 4,468 Group: Members Member #46 Joined: September 2, 2008	I've stopped watching the show and haven't even kept up on the recaps for about a week... but I'm very disappointed that Adam was killed off (though he could always come back, I guess...). That's one more Munson who is dead. For the love of Pete, why does TPTB have to kill off just about everyone who is connected to Hal? I'd love for this to showcase Margo and Tom, but really, my expectations are that it will be anything BUT. The baby stuff with Katie/Brad/Vienna/Henry has to end. JP's hatred of babies is so obvious, so I'm not sure why she keeps dragging baby stories into the show. There are a world of other storyline possibilities.

Member Posts: 228 Group: Members Member #465 Joined: December 8, 2008	The whole Katie business was clearly written as lighthearted camp but Terri is not the kind of actress to pull it off. That's more Trent and Ewa's territory. Would have been better for Vienna to discover what Brad was doing, then tell Henry and have the humor come from them trying to hide this false impression from Katie. Or maybe have Vienna think its an affair and then Brad tells her the truth but asks her to keep it a secret. Terri played it too realistic so the payoff made me feel like it was all a waste of time. Not surprising though that As Katie's World Turns is running seperately from Margo's even though they're SISTERS! Looking at the previews, not sure if Katie and Craig are at the memorial but they should be just to support Margo if nothing else. Actually the whole cast has connections to Tom and Margo so should be there whether they are part of this storyline or not! The irony is now that tptb are using an actual church for filming instead of that old crowded Luther's Corners Church set, there's enough room for the entire cast but they can't afford to pay for them all. I think if Adam is supposed to be 'evil' the death could have been foul play but I would not be surprised if he faked his death in order to get away with some 'evil' deed.
