Well, a few late comments on Thursday's show. ![]() I thought Ellen Dolan and Tom and Casey did great with their grief, although I am not liking that Margo is apparently forming some kind of dysfunctional bond with this Sgt, or, as he wants to be called, 'Riley' who knew Adam. I tell you, when Riley first started talking about Adam and how close they'd become, I was having a gaydar moment. That would probably have finished off Margo. ![]() Margo's reasoning for having only herself, Tom and Casey at Adam's memorial was just plain stupid. What are tiic thinking? Families come together at times like that, heck, we have an occasion on the OT board where a family came together at a funeral, now, that family member wasn't like Adam, but you know what I mean. ![]() And then Casey wanting to assuage his grief by making love with Ali.... shows and movies always do this, and I tell you, it doesn't happen. At least not every stinking time! ![]() Are Luke and Noah turning into the new Tom and Margo as far as interrupted intimacy goes? Why don't they get their own place, FTLOG? That's all they talked about for awhile and now, what, they're living in Luke's room? ![]() On the baby kidnapping story... this is just too nuts to even imagine after smoking something illegal! AND, tell me that Bonnie's hair is a wig! AND then tell me WHY? AND her and Dusty's bickering is getting way old, to me anyway. ![]() Paul hiding in the coop like that, when Bonnie walked in, was sooooo and then, what, that other coop member walks in, talks to Bonnie, tells her the baby is Edna's grandkid and then walks out, leaving the baby there? AND.... Bonnie doesn't know what Eliza looks like????????? And she's out looking for her????? FTLOG!And just run Dusty over already, for crying out loud!

Nice critique of the show....I agree with all of it. As NON-REAL as this Memorial for ADAM was....I still wonder if he really is dead. What a waste of a storyline to just let SIX plus two newbies (the pastor and the soldier) and push it so INCREDIBLY QUICK EVEN IN SOAP TERMS. Watching the family...I had TEARS and that is a first in quite a long time for a soap opera. |

Wednesday's show was a good example of how tptb seem to be attempting to create what they THINK is their best attempt with a low budget. They use on location instead of having to bring out an old set and they leave out most of the cast including vets so they won't have to pay them. The best thing about the memorial was the stunning visual look. Everyone was in shades of dark brown and black and the pews were white with brown borders and Riley of course was in a brown army suit. I think that in order to be able to leave out most of the family they had to make Margo more neurotic as far as dealing with this tragedy. She did not want Katie or Craig to be hovering around and trying to comfort her. Maybe she could feel awkward because of her attitude toward Craig but she and Katie are getting along. And maybe Katie could have found time away from Henrienna to pay her respects before her pregnancy became "troubled" as was shown in previews. But tptb insist on seperating the groups even when they are connected as family. And why did Nuke have the whole house to themselves, anyway. Aren't Meg and DAmian there sick with the flu? Barb, interestng thought about Riley being more than just friends with Adam. Much more interesting ida than the "monster" we saw him as before. But sure would be nice for Adam to turn out alive. Maybe when Matt Cavanagh has finished his run in WEst Side Story? BTW do ya' think that cd that Margo listened to that Adam made featured Matt Cavanagh's actual singing voice? The whole 'where in the WORLD is Paul and Eliza' feels EXTREEEEMLY drawn out with way too much dialogue and missed opportunities as far as Bonnie and Dusty finding them. I think the point of Eliza sitting on the counter while the worker was not found was showing how blase people are about these things in small towns like Greenville, WI as opposed to the BIG CITY like Oakdale, IL. Also REALLLY dumb that Bonnie didn't even have a photo of Paul and Eliza and waiting for the cop to get it was like the ultimate in draaaaaging out a story. Ya' know if they took more time for family togetherness with the Adam memorial they would have less time for the Wisconsin run around and get on with the story! Two good things about the small town remote, again like the church, worked well visually and believable as a Wisconsin village and best of all we got to hear Cady SING with her guitar to Eliza.

But is it "Sergeant" Riley? I didn't notice but have seen it mentioned elsewhere the stripes on his uniform indicated he would be a corporal. Some wondered if this was a clue but my vote goes to the wardrobe department screwed up I thought Ellen, Scott and Billy were all terrific but that was the most pathetic excuse for a memorial! The minister didn't even speak! What would have happened if Riley hadn't showed up? And after stressing how Margo only wanted it to be the 3 of them, I was angry when Noah suggested they crash the funeral and Luke and Ali went along with it. How obvious can the show make it the whole think is just a plot device for a different story that really isn't going to involve Tome and Margo If at least Kim and Bob weren't there then NOBODY else should have been therer They could have been there for Casey after the memorial. The whole missing Eliza story is idiotic and boring beyond words. And there are two more days of it this week The writing was horrific for the show. |

Judy, I didn't even notice the stripes, wouldn't you think an ex-military dependent would be up on that? I have to confess, though, that I'm not at all familiar with ranks unless they're in the AF and starting with Lieutenant.... And, I should have said, too, I think his last name is Morgan? Or something like that? ![]() And yeah, really, for Ali, Luke and Noah to crash the memorial was really rude, especially since Ali did say that it was Margo who wanted to keep it small. They could easily have been there for Casey afterward...

Gosh, if ever there was a time to use Nancy, Bob, Kim, Lisa, PARKER (Adam's brother) and most of the cast, it was for Adam's funeral. Where were Craig and Katie? Adam was tied to more people than maybe anyone. And to tape it in a real church that wasn't that small made it even worse. |

Parker should have at least been there or at least been told. He is Adam's brother as much as Casey is. How about Babs? She was Adam's step mom. Adam had many ties in Oakdale. It really makes no sense killing him off. |

If TODAY's SOAP still retained some semblance of the OLD SOAP...then having such a non-connected character as the Sargeant come onto the OAKDALE SCREEN...then I could easily believe that ADAM is returning soon, too. But.... |

Well everyone has said what I was thinking. I couldn't believe that lame memorial...it just screamed they didn't want to pay to have the right people there And while I love Tom/Margo/Casey...they were excellent, what they were doing was not. What a shame.... The baby story is horrid. It's feels like a low budget movie...one where a killer jumps out and we all know someone is going to get it if that makes sense.

Janet, I know exactly what you mean about comparing the baby story to a bad movie!
