Explain this to me: A breathalyzer test cannot be performed several days after an accident. It would have to be performed at the time of the accident. And even if at the time of the accident, if a police officer asks you to take this test, you have the right to say no. So what good would a breathalyzer test be several days after Craig's hit and run? This is just another instance of Jack being a Jackass about anything and everything that has to do with Carly. I really, really hate JACK!!!!!!!!! |

I don't fault Jack at all on this. Carly has been driving drunk at least twice that he knows of and we know it was more often. As he said, what if she kills herself, or someone else? What if she takes Sage with her in the car? His idea of the breathalyzer wasn't for being drunk when she almost hit Craig because he knows she was drinking then. This was like random drug testing to tell if she truly had stopped drinking like she said she had. And it would have proved she hadn't. Let's face it, if she truly had stopped drinking she would have been happy to take it. Did you see the panicked look on her face when Craig suggested Jack search her house? And in reality that is no different that Jack asking her to take the breathalyzer. Jack gets it that it isn't easy to just quit on your own and think she needs AA. He's worried about her. Meanwhile Carly played Craig like a total fool. He's become her patsy and she knows how to manipulate him so he helps hide her drinking and he therefore enables her. He doesn't realize he's doing it but he has no clue how sneaky an alcoholic can be. This wasn't about police business at all. |

Patty, as Judy said, Jack wasn't wanting to give the breathalyzer test to Carly for anything to do with proving or disproving she was drinking at the time of the accident. It was like a random test.... but, while I can see what Judy's saying about Jack wanting to do that because he cares about her, I think the writers did a poor job of writing that, as to me it didn't come across that way. ![]() On the other hand, Craig is definitely not helping Carly at all right now.

I know it wasn't really about police business but Jack will use anything and everything he can to prove that Carly is in the wrong. He needs to keep out of any case that involves Carly. Jack is still a sanctimonious asshole just wanting to be right about everything especially as far as it concerns Carly. I'm sorry but I don't see it as him caring about Carly at all. His motivation, in my opinion, is to always be proved right in everything he does, to always be the moral authority about anything and everything, and lastly to show up Craig. Admittedly Craig isn't helping Carly and neither is Parker. Everyone that loves her (Craig and Parker - not Jack) want to believe she has stopped drinking though they have their doubts. But as we know she hasn't. When Carly does stop drinking, she'll finally be honest with HERSELF. Jack has never, ever stopped judging Carly on every single thing she does and I feel, he'll be more happy about being RIGHT about Carly drinking, than helping or wanting her to stop. Then Jack can take her kids and have them live with him and Janet and away from the evil and imperfect Carly. That's been his goal all along as far as I'm concerned. |

Jack is always going to come across as the heartless, cold cop as far as advising Carly is concerned. Too much has gone down with these two for her to follow any of his advice. Basically each one has a chip on the shoulder and will not back down. Plus Carly can't use femininie wiles on him though she can on Craig. I think Janet could see through her but Carly won't let her stay around long enough. Rosanna is Carly's best hope to finally stop drinking. She can convince her to get help.
