Advanced Member Posts: 4,135 Group: Members Member #14 Joined: September 1, 2008	It was a real fathers and sons day on ATWT today. Of course Noah and Col. Mayer and Damien and Luke. The scenes with Noah and Col. Mayer were very powerful in my opinion. No matter what your parent does, there is that connection that is hard to break. Noah did the right thing in the end, but I think it will haunt him for a long while. Will it also haunt Luke and Noah's relationship? Damien again came through for Luke. Luke's father issues have seemingly been resolved. Will Noah resent that Luke is able to reconcile with his father but not Noah? Mothers and sons was also a theme with Margo and Adam and Casey. But Margo is dead wrong to try to live this lie that Adam is Riley and making Casey keep the secret is completely wrong. But then we know that Margo will never be Mother of the Year. Good show today in my opinion.

Frankly, I haven't had any interest in that story for a long time and can't understand why they even dealt with it now. It WAS good seeing Damian and Luke working together, although Luke was sure quick to think that Damian might have had something to do with Noah being missing. The stuff with the Hughes family made me think that maybe, after all these years, I'm getting tired of watching families never learning a darned thing from their mistakes and remaining totally dysfunctional.

I thought the Winston/Noah scenes were cheesy and campy and I didn't enjoy them. Actually I thought that whole story was bad although it was nice to see Damian and Luke interacting but why does Luke automatically go to Damian now rather than Holden? And I was LMAO at the scene of Luke and Damian threatening to dunk Hasbro in the water head first I did enjoy the Margo, Riley et al story. I'm more upset about Margo keeping the news that Adam is alive from Tom than anything. How is this any better than Carly not telling about her misdiagnosis when that happened? I can understand Casey's hurt and thinking Margo is choosing Adam over him. The only thing is I remember she did in fact try to help Casey but the problem was he ran and that was the one thing they couldn't make go away. Her excuse she gave today though was lame.

Newbie Posts: 79 Group: Members Member #10 Joined: August 31, 2008	I thought Jake did a really great job today. I saw the conflict and struggle in Noah. But like everything it went way too fast. I think if they give the story more time, play all the story beats, it would improve the show overall. I don't understand Margo. She shouldn't keep this from Tom. I feel sorry for Casey.

I did somewhat enjoy the Margo/Riley/Casey, etc. stuff, but I found myself getting pissed that Margo is keeping the Adam news from Tom.

It is rather easy for me to believe that MARGO wants to protect ADAM by not telling TOM. It will be interesting how long this will last....and WHOM will be the one to tell TOM that ADAM is alive. Will it be ADAM? CASEY? MARGO? It strangely makes sense that MARGO really did not want to be telling anyone about ADAM with a bullet in her...or recovering in the hospital after the bullet was removed. I also believe that she may just not want to tell anyone else about ADAM....until....??? NOAH was excellent!!! LUKE....was great!!! DAMIAN....??? AND THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT about today show's that allowed me to enjoy it so much more....no one mentioned any BABY stuff.

It's a real shame that Winnie comes and goes and, unlike how it "should" be, I doubt there will be any fallout or follow up from this at all. That's where ATWT is seriously lacking at the moment. I love Tom Degnan as Adam, and think he's a great casting, but some things bug me about the story. First, no other Hughes or Parker are involved. Second, Casey called Tom "My Dad" today and it really seems like they are writing Adam like Tom was just a not even that close step dad, when he was his only father for 15 years. Tom has played second fiddle to Margo for years. Third, Margo wants to not send attempted rapist Adam to jail (I wish I could forget that horrible turn of events) but she had no problem sending Casey to prison for taking some cash from his grandma. Finally, if Margo and Casey don't tell Tom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The deal Adam and Will made with Adam at the cabin was that they wouldn't say what happened if Adam never came back. So all Margo know about is his planting the bond in Will's home to try to frame him. Now that still doesn't excuse her trying to protect him. In reality she and Tom did try to help Casey and he wouldn't have gone to prison if he hadn't run or if Zach hadn't left the show. As I remember it they were getting him a suspended sentence for the robbery but then he ran when he was on house arrest and that is what ultimately sent him to prison. Even that they waited and didn't report him missing originally. So Margo has tried to protect Casey in the past too. My far bigger problem is that she is keeping it a secret from Tom that Adam is alive.

Member Posts: 228 Group: Members Member #465 Joined: December 8, 2008	Typical of JP that it was a self-contained episode that for the most part explained the mystery surrounding "Riley Morgan". It actually worked as a whole episode because both the Margo/Casey story and the Noah/Winston story were linked by "Riley" so it gave the show a cohesive feel as opposed to all over the place. Interesting that what we thought were mistakes on the show might have been there on purpose. Of course Adam wore a corporal uniform to impersonate Riley instead of seargent because he wasn't a real soldier. The meetings that we thought were at Ft. Leonardwood were actually nearby at an old military outpost. Though not sure the outside matched the office the Colonel was using. The only thing that was not explained was how Winston knew "Riley" was not actually Riley Morgan. Maybe the real Riley served under Winston at one time? I agree that Margo should tell Tom but Adam's false identity while it allows him a fresh start, it's just as bad as not coming clean about what he did to Will. Maybe if Will were still in Oakdale, he would not stand for this and demand justice. Guess we're supposed to feel for Margo 'cause she has to protect Adam though he deserves to be in prison and she's the CHIEF OF DETECTIVES! But ya know the way tptb think, if Adam is sent to prison, no more story. The're gonna get some mileage out of Margo hiding his identity from Tom and everyone EXCEPT Casey. I'd rather see a reveal like Phillip on Y&R and have Adam be given a light sentence or community service.

But so many of the facts are just unclear and probably will never be explained. The problem for me in wrapping some things up in an episode is the ramifications never seem to get dealt with. The Noah/Colonel thing will probably just be forgotten soon if not immediately.

I thought Colonel Mayer somehow arranged for the surgery in order to mess with Margo and Adam liked having a new identity but was forced by him to deceive everyone. Turns out Adam was a victim of the explosion in Dafur at same time as Riley and then Riley died while Adam needed facial reconstruction. Whattya know the State Dept. switched their identities and Adam never corrected them. Hmmm the government messsing up, never see that happen. Not surprising that Adam would take this opportunity for a fresh start but complete honesty would be great, so he could have a REAL family reunion even if he has to be arrested.
