http://www.soapoperadigest.com/news/breaking/ GUIDING LIGHT co-head writer David Kreizman is heading to sister soap AS THE WORLD TURNS effective immediately. He'll team up with existing head writer Jean Passanante. "I am thrilled that Dave and Jean will make up the new head writing team," said ATWT executive producer Chris Goutman in a statement. "Both writers have an incredible respect for the show's rich history and I am confident this partnership will generate the exciting, character-based stories for which ATWT is known. So it sounds like Laiman is out as co-headwriter which is a good thing but don't think this is a good replacement. While I am happy there are changes, these aren't the changes I was looking for. Wonder if this is really just fulfilling a contract obligation. More at the PGP Blog. |

Well, I have to say that this doesn't instill much confidence in me as to the future of ATWT.

I stand by my theory that TPTB want the show to fail while giving the appearance that they want it to continue. By the time they are done with it, the fans won't want it back. Guiltless sabotage. I know the whole soap genre is changing but I can't help feeling that certain key players are rushing it along on a direct route to failure. Goodness knows what they're motives are. Chris Goutman is either (or a combination thereof): 1) not watching the show, nor has he watched - ever 2) drunk most of the time 3) being blackmailed by JP (photos? long lost scandalous diary? WHAT?!?!?) 4) getting a bonus for ruining the show (see my theory, above) 5) among the stupidest executives in TV This show has "Titanic" written all over it.
