What a great show today!!!!! Maura West was outstanding!!!! I thought everyone did such a great job. Mick Hazen was great, as were Jon Lindstrom, Michael Park and Cady McLaine. I will definitely miss Maura West and Carly.

I could have done without the whole Riley/Casey/Margo stuff as I think Margo has lost her mind. She keeps saying she wants her family together. Well hello, why not tell Tom what is going on? She is so STUPID!!!!!!! I do like the actor who plays Adam/Riley and will be glad when this part of the story is over.

I like Ally and Hunter as siblings although I still think Hunter should run FAR, FAR AWAY from the Stewart family.

I think Julie Pinson deserves some credit, too. And I am NOT a Jack/Janet fan... I want him back with Carly at some point. I thought they wrote Janet really well. She was acting like a selfish brat earlier and the way she waited for Jack through the intervention redeemed her, imo. For once I would actually prefer a Jack/Carly quad where all the options make sense. I want Janet as a legit choice for Jack and Craig a legit choice for Carly (though I suspect Craig is going to end up back with Janet).

I am officially in love with Jon Lindstrom's version of Craig. Sigh.

I thought Michael Park nailed Jack today. He showed that Jack is more than just a concerned ex, w/o over emphasizing that fact; this issue is too serious to be glossed over into a vehicle for a triangle.

And anything negative I ever said about Mick Hazen I now take back. That kid is GOOD.

It goes w/o saying that I think MW is a goddess and she deserves an Emmy for this one. Wow.

They all gave amazing performances and I only regret one thing - that the story was not the focus of the whole episode. And I say that as someone who enjoys the other story they focussed on; just not TODAY. There was enough material there for a full episode.

I am going to say/suggest something controversial.... what would you have thought if Sage had at least a small part in the intervention? They'd have to have written it that she wanted to say something to her mom. She could've been only there for the first part then left/waited outside with Janet. But I think it would've been interesting. If she was still 6, I would say no, but because they have aged her, and she knows Carly has been getting 'wasted' anyway, why not?

I agree with both posts.

I have grown very tired of the CARLY SAGA...but today was a great way to end things. CARLY-MAURA is always outstanding. JACK-MP was excellent. CRAIG-JL in a strange way displayed that he could admit defeat. This almost made CRAIG more human in my eyes (writing wise). PARKER was outstanding.

CHANGE WISE...I was the most impressed with JANET.

The Stewart/Hunter/Hughes stuff...I think I would have been happier if the HUGHES element was delayed a day...

Well, Maura and Michael did NOT disappoint. THIS is the episode to submit for the Emmy reel! :2thumbs Forget the lines, Maura brought so many different emotions, one after the other, defensive, angry, guilty, desperate, and finally realization of the truth--that she is a drunk! That moment when Jack reminded her of her own childhood and how she promised Parker she would not allow him to suffer the same as she and then the mascara colored tear down her cheek! :cry Wow! Mick was so emotional I think he was ready to break down and sob. But the camera cut away before he could. Hope this gets Mick a well deserved nom as well. :fingers

I think a lot was resolved as far as Carly and Jack was concerned. Carly: "I already know I won't live up to your lofty standards...the compass is broken. I'm not our problem to solve anymore." And then she breaks down, "How would you know how I feel. You don't talk to me anymore. You don't ask me how I am. You don't lower yourself to acknowlege me at all." Man, no wonder she turned to Craig who admits that he is an egomaniac who loved being needed by someone. As effective as Jack was, Craig was the one who finally made Carly see she had no other options. He refused to take her back to the cabin or anywhere except rehab. He says the Carly he fell in love with is slipping away so she needs to get better and hopefully want him when she returns. Well, nice of Craig to admit she might not want him if he's not her enabler. :devil After all before she became an alcoholic, she did not want anything romantic from him, not even the slightest. Now with Carly saying the compass is broken, I wonder if that's tptb's way of saying no possibility of a CarJack reunion. But at least if Carly's sober when she returns it's a level playing field...co-dependent NO MORE! At this point I like Jack with Janet so that relationship would have to be totaly destoryed before I would accept the return of CarJack. Maybe if Craig hooks up with Janet... :hmm Julie Pinson DOES deliver. Janet has many layers from her expressions alone. We can see how conflicted she is, wanting her life with Jack, loving his kids, and recognizing that Jack needs to help Carly. Janet has shown she can be selfish and materialistic. It would be interesting if Craig steals Janet away by promising luxurious living in the same way he stole Barbrara from Hal. :hmm

I agree that the intervention would have benefited by no other storyline interruption. I think they had planned Monday and Tuesday's of this week to be on Friday and then Monday as a way to lure the viewers. But without the Hunter storyline of Friday and Monday, the Carly story could have been in one day instead of two and would have been so much more powerful. :pullhair Save all the Hunter developments for another day. The only advantage of today was we see Hunter now has more confidence when he's protecting Allison. Can't blame Hunter for thinking she's better off without Casey. The only problem is Casey's behavior is SO plot driven, but masked as character driven. Unless Casey's suddenly become bipolar, then it's all about the plot. Are we to believe that the "Riley is Adam" secret has him so worked up that he has to bark at Alli and be jealous of Hunter and plot against Riley etc., etc. At this point I'd rather have him be worked up because he's a closet case so getting jealous is a cover! :smack

Totally disagree that it was a sign that Carly and Jack are done. I saw it just the opposite. The way he looked at her... and some of his reactions... no way are Carly and Jack done.

I did not say it was a sign they were done. I said tptb indicated as much by saying "the compass is broken." However, once Janet is stolen away by Craig and Jack has enough time to miss Carly, I think CarJack could happen. The broken compass is a sign of an end to the old Carly and Jack relationship in which she did not live up to his expectations. Now with the idea of moving forward, we could see a new kind of CarJack in which she's not trying to meet high standards and where they are partners. I am looking forward to seeing that played out when Maura returns. :pray

Just a few comments about the show:

1) When MW & MP were discussing her father's alcoholism & how it related to Parker I was astounded at their scenes because it was really like watching a play. It wasn't a soap but high drama & two actors so in tune with one another & an understanding of their characters & their nuances are just so perfect & unforced. it never ceases to amaze & everyone else in the room became wallpaper. They are as good as it gets & no amount of beating me over the head about JL can ever dilute this couple. End game or not J&C are the quintessential couple of ATWT & no amount of character assassination can alter that.

2) IMHO this Carly storyline was more about Craig's rehab then Carly's. That's my issue with all of this. Beneath the surface this couple is as dysnfunctional & sad as I can recall. There is nothing to root for & Craig to a large extent was Carly's enabler & co-dependant.

MP deserves to have some decent material thrown his way while MW is on maternity leave. Please get JL's Craig to circle around someone else & leave Jack & his children out of his range of fire.

Don't know what the future holds with J&C but it can go either way.

I am always amazed by MW. She can just get to me and she didn't disappoint. No one disappointed, they were all so good. Craig really got to me too and his writing was perfect - "..partly because I'm an egomaniac.."
Kudos to all of them.

My apologies RichB. I actually do agree with that interpretation. These relationships are all gonna change when Carly gets back. If Craig still wants her, he is now a viable match for her. I say if because my sense is Ro and Craig ain't done, either.

I think it is very telling that Julie Pinson is STILL on recurring.
