As a lifelong daytime soap fan, I am rooting hard against this latest incarnation of LET'S MAKE A DEAL. If the show does well, I predict it will like expedite the cancellation of at least one ABC soap if not two. Why would ABC, or NBC for that matter who will decide DAYS future next year, deal with declining profit margins for their soaps if CBS demonstrates you can bring in as many or more viewers with a less expensive show to produce? It will be interesting to see if the show occupies GUIDING LIGHT's morning timeslots in several major markets of it CBS will push affiliates to air the show at 3pm ET/2pm PT where GL was intended to air. |

I'm with you in hoping that it bombs. I would much rather watch GL, or any soap for that matter, than watch a remake of Let's Make a Deal. I'm sure it will do well at first, purely out of curiosity. Here in Boston GL airs at 9AM. I partly blame that terrible timeslot for GL's failure. I'll be pissed if they move Let's Make a Deal into the afternoon timeslot, after relegating GL to the morning timeslot.

The last thing I want to watch is a game show in the afternoon. I will be changing channels. |

I bet it gets initial decent ratings from curious people then bombs. And LET'S MAKE A DEAL was always my least favorite game show anyway and not one I want to see remade again. |

ICAM, Roger. Of all the game shows to remake, I have no idea why they would choose that one. Here GL is on at 9 in the morning. I don't know if the audience that's been watching the CBS morning show, which can be serious, will watch that idiotic show.
