I understand that supercouples need conflict to stay alive and passionate, although I think they have that in spades. But you can only poke holes in something for so long before it crumbles under the pressure. The writers are ruining the intergrity of the characters and their history every time they think a quick-moving story that doesn't make any sense is the way to go. Shows are dying and losing viewers in spades because the fans don't recognize the characters anymore and they're losing the emotional attachment to them. That's why viewers are leaving.

This is really the truth. Sure they can destroy CarJack and make it impossible for them to be reunited. What TPTB fail to realize though is if many of us give up on a CarJack reunoin, we also give up on ATWT because the other stories just aren't that interesting to keep us tuned in and have to watch our favorites destroyed. In the end the show loses and at a critical time when their renewal is up in the air, it seems crazy to toy with the fans like this.

Sure they need angst but enough is enough. And really what they are showing now or when they are constantly fighting isn't entertaining. That's what people complain about. What is entertaining is when Jack and Carly put aside their differences and work together as a team whether it is finding JJ or clearing Parker or the brief story with Stenbeck. That is what many viewers enjoy far more than these ridiculous triangles or Carly does something and Jack gets angry. They could still have angst like those things if they were a happy couple.

It seems the loyalty of CarJackers is being used against us. Because we've hung in there through so many obstacles they just expect us to continue to hang on. There isn't one other couple they have done that with. Sure other couples break up but they get back together and usually rather fast. It almost seems the only way to get the message through is by turning off the TV and watching the ratings drop. What a sad state that is knowing it could cause the show to be canceled. :cry

And nobody is even pretending this Jack and Janet marriage will last. Julie says in the clip that she hopes they get some happiness....for a couple of weeks before somebody else comes along. And in a recent SID she said that Janet isn't stupid and she won't humiliate herself. She said she'll only fight Carly for Jack to a point and then she'll say enough of this thing Jack and Carly have going and Janet will move on. So why even marry them when it sounds like the end of the marriage is already planned? Even the soap press isn't really promoting the wedding the way they did with Kack who even got a magazine cover or two. This is like the b story or less in the press.

It's like even the press think this story is silly and repetitive. Marrying Jack to yet another anti-Carly has been done just too many times.
