The show started out with Bob doing a voice over, kind of a story about the little Prince Johnny, and naming all of the people in little Johnny's life... quite a crew. ![]() Carly is called an enchantress, who's cast a forever spell on handsome Jack... ![]() Margo's a Duchess... Paul a prince... Barbara is a Lady, I think... everybody has a relationship to Johnny... ![]() When Bob got to Parker, well, Youth Parker, we saw Parker and Liberty outside of the bookstore. Liberty spots a book of fairy tales that she as a kid. Parker said he played with cars, no stories... They buy the book and take it to Craig's suite to read to Johnny. Liberty's going to read, but Parker grabs the book and says he'll do the reading, so he can stay awake. ![]() The first fairy tale is Pinocchio. Jack aka Gipetto, is a hoot and Parker as Pinocchio, does a good job of not laughing with Jack and his Italian enthusiasm right in Parker's face... Carly makes a hot Blue Fairy, and Gipetto appreciates her assets... Later, Liberty the green cricket starts taking Pinocchio to school, but they're sidetracked by the evil Craig and Carly, and end up in a bar, where Pinocchio drinks some booze and then lies about it to the Blue Fairy. She makes his nose grow long. Just then Gipetto staggers in, choking on a piece of salami. Blue Fairy's magic dust isn't working right, so Pinocchio does the Heimlich and saves his father's life. For this, he's rewarded by having his nose go back to normal size. ![]() Next, Grandma Babs shows up at Craig's suite with a basketful of Valentine's Day stuff for Parker. Craig leaves, telling Parker and Liberty to take Johnny out to lunch, but first Grandma Barbara reads to Johnny - The Beauty and the Beast. She also reminds Parker how much he used to love having her read to him when he was a little boy. ![]() In Beauty & the Beast, Bob is the man who ends up in the castle of the Beast during a storm and takes a red rose. He's caught by the beast, who says he won't kill Bob if he gives him his daughter. Bob protests, but after all, it IS his life, so he agrees. Soon, the daughter arrives. It's Meg, dressed in civillian clothes but looking remarkably like a nurse. She and Beast become friends and Beast wants to marry her, but, since she's so shallow, she turns him down, as he's not a hunk. The Beast collapses and Beauty rushes to him and kisses him, saying she's changed her mind and loves him.... Beast turns into a handsome Prince. Prince Paul. Beauty swoons, saying, "you're hot!" and they live happily ever after. ![]() Now Liberty, Parker and Johnny are at the diner having lunch, but Johnny wants another story. Dusty is there and says he'll read to him, so he does. He starts one story, but doesn't like it, as it's about a prince being taken from his family... Craig is standing outside lookjing in, but Duchess Margo tells him to chill, Dusty is just reading to the kid. So Dusty reads... and it's the story of Rumplestiltskin. Meg is the miller's daughter who's supposed to be turning paper into gold, but she can't do it. Craig shows up as an ugly troll and says he'll do it for her, if she'll give him her firstborn son. She agrees, and the troll goes to work! But when it's time to give up her baby, she can't do it, so the Troll takes pity on her, and says that if she can guess his name, she can keep the kid... Of course you know the ending - she guesses Rumplestiltsin and the Troll vanishes! Now Craig comes and gets Johnny and takes him back to his suite. It's Craig's turn to read, and he choses Cinderella, uh, Cinderfella.... Barbara is the wicked step-mother, Katie and Margo are the evil step-sisters. Poor Cinderfella, aka Craig, wants to go to the ball, but alas.... Suddenly a Fairy Godfather, aka Parker, shows up, covered in bling. He tells Cinderfella to knock off the first word in Fairy Godfather, and he'll give him cool clothes so he can go to the ball. Cinderfella looks fetching in his ball clothes but when he gets there, he almost doesn't get in, until the beautiful princes, aka Carly, dressed all in white, falls for his charm and dances with him, until midnight. She falls into a coma, and needs to be awakened, and of course, Cinderfella is the one to do it... and they live happily ever after. Sir Jack is in this fairy tale, also, as kind of the announcer at the ball, and the guy going around telling people about the princess and her coma. ![]() Next, Meg arrives with Eliza, and Craig says it's her turn to read to Johnny. So she and Eliza sit down and Meg starts to read - Once upon a time.... why, it's DorthyakaMeg. She's out walking and comes across Scarcrow aka Dusty, minus a brain. Dorothy takes him with her to go to see the Wizard, to get help... Now they see CRaig, less, and he joins them on their way to see the Wizard. Suddenly, the lion aka Paul, jumps out. He wants to go with them to get some courage, but he's scared to go by himself. Meg now stops reading and asks Johnny if he wants to go right to the end, since it's such a long story.. but Craig grabs the book, and starts to read, he wants to hear the part about the wicked Witch. In a flash of lightning, The Wicked Witch, aka Barbara, appears and tries to scare the little group... suddenly, Bob aka the Wizard, appears and gets rid of the Wicked Witch, and very effectively, too... Each of Dorothy's little group says that what they really want is to get Dorothy to fall in love with them, since they all love her... Dorothy just wants to go home, and the good Witch, aka Margo, appears and tells Dorothy to click her heels together 3 times and she'll get home. Sure enough, it works. And Johnny's asleep... in Craig's arms... Craig strokes Johnny's hair and murmurs, "and they all lived happily ever after..." ![]() What a good show! I every bit of it, it was so well set up and the acting, makeup and costumes were outstanding. I loved everybody's character, some of my favorites were Barbara as the wicked witch, Paul as the Beast, Parker as the Godfather... Also Carly as everything she was, Jack was good, too, very good, and funny... Craig made me laugh as Cinderfella. ![]() And Bob, my gosh, everytime he gets to step outside his role as Dr Bob, I'm reminded what a funny, funny guy he is, he must be a riot in real life. |

I thought the show was just awful. The costumes were good, but the whole thing was just stupid. The only thing I liked was Bob as the Wizard (Haven't you seen the movie?"). And it's always great to see Barbara. The rest was like I said stupid and a waste of my time and a waste of the show's budget. When I found out that only a part of the cast was going to be in it I was upset. Now I think I should be thankful that most of my favorite characters were spared from this hot mess. I liked Bob's snarky comments and seeing Barbara melt, but pretty much couldn't stand the rest of it. Part of it is I'm just so sick of these same people. And I like Jon Lindstrom but he's been on the show for two months and he already gets a special episode featuring him playing five characters? Parker as the pimp fairy godfather was just strange. Paul's weird fake voice as the beast was, I don't even know what it was. I kind of thought the whole thing was pointless. |

The episode was piss poor awful. WTF was writing this drivel? I've only been watching ATWT since 1998 and I can honestly say that this one episode was worse than any of the crap I've sat through before, including swashbuckling Dukes in Scotland, the Avanya saga with 2 Simons, Malta revisited, the Oakdale 3 on the Run and Cleo & gang in Branson. They thought this was good enough to use for their Valentines Day episode? While the concept had premise on paper, the execution was lousy. I think whoever green-lit this idea should be fired. Goutman, I'm looking at you. |

Scott, I'm not sure what the premise was. Valentine's is supposed to be about love and romance. I guess some of these stories had romantic moments but seeing Craig kiss Carly to wake her up or Paul/Meg and Paul/Dusty kissing is not the kind of romance I want to see. And it didn't really play out in a sweeping romantic way. It just seemed like a show that was fun for the actors and crew to do in their costumes and make-up but not really the type of romantic VD I would have liked. But of course, how many happy couples are there who could have been romantic anyway? |

The thing is they don't have enough romantic couples to do a whole show about. I really enjoyed today's show and I didn't expect to. I enjoy seeing the comedic side of some of the actors that we never get to see. I especially loved that it was very tongue in cheek as some of the characters poked fun at themselves. I loved Carly trying not to giggle as she talked to"Pinocchio" about not lying I liked that they did it through the perception of the person that was telling the story. I found it interesting that in the story Parker told, Carly was good with Jack and bad with Craig I found it very true that Craig was bad in every segment except when it was Craig's fantasy It was only natural that Barbara wanted Paul and Meg together. And of course Craig sees Barbara as evil.I thought it was a great change of pace from the boring, dreary stories that we get day after day. Yes they should have used more of the cast, but other than that I thought it was great!

Good grief. It wasn't THAT bad! It wasn't Broadway or Masterpiece Theater but I wasn't expecting that. It was cute and whimsical and I think that's about all it was meant to be. It didn't need to have a point other than showing Johnny's loved ones all getting along for his sake on a day that's supposed to be all about love. It was fun to see the wild costumes and makeup and I bet all the actors enjoyed it. It's just one episode. |

I think re-telling fairytales was a good premise, but the ones they chose did not really help. They never should have done Pinocchio or The Wizard of Oz. Beauty and The Beast and Cinder(f)ella worked (on paper), since at least those were all about love and romance. Not to mention, there are enough cast members on the show that they should have used everyone first before they started re-using them again! Just because they're in a storyline together on the show, doesn't mean they have to be on the V-Day episode. Why not have Emily be the Beauty and Henry the Beast? What about Bob being Noah's fairy g-dfather? This was the one episode to mix things up a bit and they didn't even consider going out of the norm. |

Not a single couple who is actually together and in love was featured. Tom/Margo, Bob/Kim, Lily/Holden, Luke/Noah. Instead they focused on all the dysfunctional, screwed up characters who we see all the time. I don't see what it had to do with Valentine's at all. |

I loved all the fairy tales today. Thought the makeup was excellent, as was the acting. It made me laugh and smile and it was whimsical. Jon Linstrom is awesome in everything he does. Nice break from the regular show. |

I completely agree. It's a mistake to try and attribute some kind of importance or meaning to this. It was fun, well done, and tomorrow will be the regular show, so for heaven's sakes, people need to calm down.

Valentine's Day is supposed to be a fun, frivolous day, and this show filled the bill. And hey, didn't you see those cookies that Carly the Seductress gave to Jack and Parker?

I've seen ATWT do a good V-Day episode before and this one was the worst, most pitiful excuses for an episode. This was a great stand-alone episode from 2002: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA9u4kejRBE |
