I liked it. I thought some of the lines were really funny and I actually liked Dusty today, something that hasn't happened for me in a while. I just thought it was fun and I'm glad they did it. Oakdale could use a little fun and so could we! |

Scott, that was a sweet intro to the Valentine's Day show back then, but you know what? If the rest of the show was as slow moving as that was, I'd have gotten up out of my chair and gone and done dishes or something... And, you know, I don't even remember that show, even with the reminder of the clip. Now, I'd bet that years from now, I'll remember yesterday's Fairy Tales show, and remember how much fun it was to watch. ![]() What that clip did was remind me how frail Helen Wagner has gotten in that time.

Well, the rest of that show was memorable for me, including the Carly/Craig B&W segment, Adam/Abigail on the roof, Lisa and all her men, Jake and Molly @ Mabels, Kim/Bob dancing in the kitchen. Lots of great stuff from that year: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=ATWT+valentines+2002&aq=f Not only was the concept much better, but it was well written and produced and wasn't as hokey. JMO of course. Edited by fee93, Feb 17 2009, 08:31 AM.

I happened to love the 2002 show although I thought the best part was Jack singing Time in a Bottle as he thought of Carly. But that show has been done. This was something different. Sadly because the show doesn't really do romance anymore and they have totally messed with most of the couples, it's hard to do romance on a show. I thought this was a fun change of pace since the show itself is loaded with doom and gloom. It's one I'll save and watch again when I want a laugh. |

I enjoyed the show but I agree with those who felt the entire cast should have been used instead of the same actor playing multiple roles. Of course I could understand how tptb wanted to show different points of view towards characters so Craig is evil in Pinocchio but the hero in Cinderfella. Yeah,I get it, Paul can sometimes be a "beast" and he's definitely cowardly but why did Paul have to play two different kinds of animals? If they were gonna have RH as a furry, how about the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood with Meg as Red and Barbara as Granny and Dusty as the huntsman? It WAS sweet to see so many people making Valentine's Day about Johnny. Some hidden references to the show during the fairy tales worked and some diidn't. Cinderfella for me was the worst because the "happy ending" is Craig kissing Carly, wakening her from her coma. I enjoyed The Wizard of Oz segment 'cause they filmed it in Central Park, and its my favorite fairy tale. It reminded me of Godspell and visually could work as another contemporary retelling of the book, other than "the Wiz", without the singing or ATWT references.

I thought Monday's show was terrible! Even the acting was mostly awful. Not even Maura West was relatable. John Linstrom (Craig) was the best in every story. What a waste of a day. Very cringeworthy and beneath the talent of the actors. I get that is was supposed to be light and frivolous. But it should have been GOOD too! |

I liked it well enough. Yeah, it had a certain hokeyness to it. But it was kinda cute and fun. And it did get the right messages through; it jibed wtih the current story. Pinocchio - Parker is struggling with identity, and he really would prefer his mom with his dad rather than Craig. There seemed to be a scene cut from the Snyder kitchen, and that I didn't like. We needed a proper scene between The Blue Fairy - aka 'Good Carly' with Jack/Gepetto. This vignette was, imo, the most poorly organized one... it seemed to short. I think part of the problem is that the story has alot to it. Beauty and the Beast - pretty funny, and it totally fit for Barbara to tell that story from that perspective. I like that it showed Meg's shallowness, and that ultimately she does love Paul. Rumpelstiltskin - I liked the highlighting of what Dusty and Meg's relationship is now. It does fit that Craig would be there, since Meg was trying to help Dusty get Johnny. She was aware of the baby switch early on, too, if we all recall. I'd forgotten that. Cinderfella... was not happy that Craig got to kiss Carly. But of course he'd put himself in that role, and he'd put her as his 'princess'... he wants her again. And really, Craig *has* woken Carly up. I missed 'Wizard of Oz', which was a disappointment for me. But I had to go to a meeting. |
