Maura West & Van Hansis fan! Posts: 170 Group: Members Member #249 Joined: October 8, 2008	Brian convinces Lucinda to get a masectomy. Lucinda agrees to go through with Brian's request because it will save her life. After this, Brian asks Lucinda to marry him, and they become husband and wife. Luke is drinking over being expelled, and Brian finds Luke drunk and an emotional wreck. The two talk and Brian pulls Luke into a kiss. Brian asks Luke not to say anything because he doesn't want to hurt Lucinda or have her be upset. My reaction: I knew it! I knew it! I wonder where the show will go with Brian and Luke?! It's bad enough she has cancer and then she' going to be married to this loser. Luke better tell her immediately what happened. The truth will come out eventually and if Luke keeps it a secret he deserves to have the relationship with Lucinda destroyed. If they wanted to have Brian attracted to Luke that would have been fine but Lucinda didn't have to be played like this.

I can see how Brian could make him feel guilty about it. If there's anyone to blame for Lucinda getting hurt, it's Brian IMO. But we know Luke will confess the truth to Noah soon (I'm assuming it's about the kiss). I hope Noah will believe him and that that's when the truth will come out.

Let's see... they're ruining Brian, Lucinda is faced with cancer, betrayal by her new husband with, of all people, her own grandson... Luke will have to deal with this too, of course.... On top of it all, what kind of a spin is it putting on Luke and Noah's gay storyline? A disgusting one, IMO. If the writers think this will get lots of character interaction, I have to since when did that ever happen? It will be over in a flash, (if we're lucky) and all it will have done is harm. Ridiculous.

Why else would he have freaked out from day one every time the word gay is mentioned. Luke even asked him why he can't say the word gay when they were talking about the film festival. He's in total denial. It's very sad, but it does happen and men and women try to force themselves to live the life that society wants them to versus what they feel inside. Sounds like in a moment of weakness his true feelings come out. And then he uses Lucinda's illness against Luke. I can see him saying "oor Lucinda is sick and you don't want to upset her anymore." It's very twisted but I'm also happy ATWT has found something shocking to do for an otherwise boring sweeps month.

I'm pretty sure Lily will stand by her son Luke. Lucinda might be hurt and lash out in anger. Holden might punch Brian, just because I can totally see Holden doing something like that! Noah might be devastated, depending on how long it takes Luke to tell him how Brian planted a pecker.... I'm going to wait until I see it on screen, so I'll give my official response then. I wonder if more then just a kiss will happen between Luke and Brian. Will this be the only one? Or will there be more? Lucinda/Brian/Luke/Noah is a little odd! But interesting. I do hope that despite the fact I'm pretty sure Lucinda and Luke will have words , I don't want their relationship to be too damaged where they can't make up and be grandmother and grandson again. She's been very supportive ever since Luke came out of the closet, and I like their loving relationship and friendship.

I think it's terrible to do that to Lucinda and to Luke. It's could ruin Nuke, as well.

Because of their history I would expect Luke to tell Lucinda and her anger would be directed at Brian. However if Luke keeps the secret, then I think her hurt because of Luke would be even greater that he didn't tell her. He owes her that much. The show needs to think about how things like this impact relationships and follow through with that. If they are just going to paint everything rosy again, then they shouldn't even bother with the story. So many stories suffer because the fallout is totally forgotten and this will probably be the same. The show should do something big for sweeps but I'm not sure it has to be shocking. And it certainly shouldn't be something that turns off more of the viewers. Sorry but this doesn't sound at all appealing to me.

I think Brian is going to manipulate Luke into feeling guilty about hurting his sick grandma by telling her. I think you have to let it play out and see how it goes. All the actors involved are terrific. Maybe Larry Lau will finally get a chance to shine.
